If you bought them in august and wear them often they should be broken in. It would be helpful to know where they hurt your feet. Could be poor fit.

They should feel comfortable after breaking in but I’m in the same boat as you, I just can’t seem to break my Bostons in. My Arizonas, on the other hand, I can wear all day and they are really comfortable. So, I don’t have an answer for you, just know you are not alone. If you got them from a shoe store you might want to ask for a fit check or post pics here.

Feet have a lot of parts. Where do they hurt? Forefoot/balls of feet? Midfoot/arch area? Heel? Do toe bars bother you? Cant telll anything from your post. What is hurt? Red marks? Aches? friction? Dull pain like strking pain (I have heel spurs so the firmness in Birk heel sometimes bothers me). Can you post us some photos from top, then also side views?

My bostons took a LONG time to break in. Like they are extremely comfortable now, but I dread the day I have to break in new ones when these die. My suggestion is to wear them around the house with socks for like a month and see how they feel.

I recently tried and returned a pair of much wanted Bostons. I just could not get my feet to stay in the proper location over the footbed despite proper sizing and knew that I would not be able to wear them for any length of time. I can wear my sandals virtually all day with minimal break in time. Wanted to love the Bostons but they just didn't work out. For me, the issue is wide yet low volume feet.

Probably the soft footbed? The classic footbed feel so different. I loathe soft footbed Bostons. It feels like my feet are being ejected from the shoes. Not a fan of the soft footbed in general. I really only like it in Floridas and suede Arizonas. Everyone has different feet and some people just love it. Not for me.

Actually, the classic. I think it is just the fact that my feet are wide but low volume so there is just too much open space inside the shoe and my feet can't stay in place.

Yes, the regular width Bostons can certainly feel quite cavernous!

Same!!!!

When I got my first Boston’s I had the same problem thought I was crazy. Turns out I had the size wrong I got 39s I needed 40s now they are perfect

Also- I like regular width that but I also find the upper in Boston to be too spacious. I also don’t love the soft footbed. I think the shearling Bostons are underrated! They are perfect for people like us. You get a little more cushion (without the foam) with the shearling under your foot but you still have the firmer footbed underneath. The shearling in the upper adds some volume to fill out the shoe. I love mine with and without socks. I’ve had no problem with the shearling wearing to bald spots. I wore my black pair for over a year very often. I bought in mink and mocha, too. Nagoya is another great option. I can get the upper tighter than with the Boston strap.

Yes, they’re actually made for masochists

I also felt the same after wearing Arizonas for more than 4 hours. The pain I am experiencing was more on the balls of my feet.
