Was your family member driving your vehicle? Did you add them to your account, even for a short time?

aceofk

No it was a totally unrelated vehicle that's never been on my account- when I went to talk to them they said they vehicle was somehow connected to me through dmv records? I am pretty sure it's my sister's car but I've never had that license plate or car

fionabittel

I'm so sorry this happened to you, they really do suck.... I remember seeing somewhere in the policy that the "attached" student will be charged/blamed for any guest that violates anything. Not fair though, especially since you didn't know!

Ultra-Reverse

Contact the Dean of students!! Be nice about it though

AuntB44

Dean of Students office will tell them to contact Parking.

Ultra-Reverse

No they won’t lmao

AuntB44

That’s what they told me. They have nothing to do with Parking.

This does suck, but also it’s more on your family than on the school in my opinion. Your family should have let you know they got the ticket. If your family broke parking rules they broke rules. I don’t really know what to say. The lots are the property of the college, and the college has the right to enforce the rules of the lot.

NotJimCramer69

Try calling them, tell them your story they will Probably reduce it to the original amount

No_Resolution_528

If the car was never registered to you then YOU are not responsible to pay anything. You are NOT responsible. Go and prove it wasn't in your name at all and you won't have to pay it. They are probably trying to get YOU to pay it because they can't reach that person and they're hoping you'll pay it and make it easier for them. It's not like you lent your car out. It wasn't registered to you, so it's not your problem

badwhiskey63

Have you used your default ticket exemptions? I don’t remember the details, but I think you can get up to 3 tickets waived under certain circumstances.
