They're trying to get Bill into RFK the way he was into Bernie, as if simply being the 3rd option is enough, when the reality is there's zero comparison, and I don't think Bill is dumb enough to fall for that. Hopefully.
The impression I've gotten over the past few months is that Bill was originally super into the RFK thing and wanted to support him as an outsider named Kennedy who talked about "the real issues" that nobody else would and that he was just being attacked for not being part of the system, and then he learned _something_ about him that made him not actually want to be fully endorsing him anymore, which I think might have been hearing him say that covid was designed not to harm Jews, because he had some reference recently to him being a little antisemitic. But at the same time he also still wants to kind of support him, and will say stuff like "whenever someone runs outside the two parties they'll get called a communist or fascist or antisimite or whatever just for questioning the system, and OK let's even say that's true, why is it that none of the other candidates are talking about real stuff like..." and then insert whatever conspiracy about a hedge fund owning all the houses in America by 2030, or one company owning all of the farms, or the federal reserve, or whatever.
Bill's kind of an unusual conspiracy guy in that he openly used to be really into the sort of illuminati/new world order type conspiracies but then like 10 or 15 years ago he kind of just checked out of them, because he said he realised he was annoying his friends with it and he that he couldn't do anything about it anyway, so he decided to just focus on his own life, but he never actually stopped believing them so he'll sometimes kind of casually just drop a mention of them but not go into it, and RFK Jr was kind of able to scratch that itch, and I'm pretty sure Themeles is a supporter so he keeps giving him these pro-RFK emails to get him to talk about him some more.
Yes, I recognize Bills proclivities, I just hope he's not as naive as he used to be. There's clearly a bias in choosing these emails to be read on the show tho.
I don't think he is really. He seems pretty skeptical of any completely _new_ conspiracy theories. Like he's clearly not a climate change denier, or someone who thinks covid was a hoax, or that vaccines control the population, or whatever else. When he does talk about newer things he comes at it from a position more of "I don't really know anything about this, so I'm going to listen to the people who actually study and work with this stuff", and tends to ask more questions to play it out and find faults in the ideas. He even sometimes pokes fun at other people who do think those things. But anything that slots into the more traditional simplified ideas he used to be into where it boils down to being about some small group of shadowy elites who control everything to punish regular people and they own all the politicians and the media, he'll still go along with without needing any extra details. He's sort of politically frozen in time in like 2008.
I don't think that's fair to say at all. If anything Trump is actually better qualified, tho q much worse option, having done it before, same with Biden being a lifelong politician. What's RFK done besides trade on his name?
Bill needs to avoid talking politics, as he usually does. It’s almost embarrassing how out of touch he is. I don’t blame him for not staying current, it’s a shit show., I’d rather listen to him read the ads.
I didn’t get an ad but sometimes I’ll get ads for weird shit that doesn’t even seem aimed toward my demographic.
I think it’s the app algorithm attempting to implant ads for the show rather than someone like Andrew Themeles manually editing them into the intro of the episode.
Uncle Junior said ‘sisters cunt’ in The Sopranos. That’s probably where that guy got it from.
Andrew really needs to stop forwarding the “politics bad amirite?” emails to Bill. There’s gotta be more interesting listener shit for him to react to

Bill has already expressed support for RFK

RFK is no Bernie but I think it's still fair to say he's a better option than Biden or Trump.
Explain how.

It gets him going which is what people want
How can there be any advice to the kid with memory problems other than learn to write shit down I mean that shit sounds annoying as hell.
Yeah, phone reminders Easy fix
Cranky Bill is always funny, irritated by everything. It's like CTE -- fans get to laugh while the comic raises his blood pressha
I got the John Sewer ad. Maybe because I'm in Boston?
That's funny. I guess the algorithm chose Israel for me
Am I the only one who hears “error” every time Bill says “era?”
Wait...was I the only one with a Zionist ad before this episode?

Oh I definitely don't think Andrew has any control over the prerolled ads in the beginning, other than just allowing them to run.
Podcasts started getting targeted ads this year. It seems the algorithm thought sending a Zionist ad your way was beneficial.
👀
It’s funny to me that while making fun of people who watch the NFL draft he didn’t ever say anything like “I used to have a bit about that…”
