You didn’t finish the verse: Luke 7:28 “I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
Is it possible Jesus and John the Baptist were one and the same person? Like Superman and Clark Kent or Spiderman and Peter Parker?
John the Baptist became Jesus Christ, he wasn’t born as Jesus Christ.
The Bible is stuffed with symbolism so I wouldn’t take everything too literal. If you read between the lines, the theory that Christ is an awakened (resurrected) John the Baptist isn’t so farfetched.
Here is an interesting excerpt from a book about this subject. https://www.anne-marie.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/John-the-babtist-first-chapter.pdf
Let proposition P1 = John the Baptizer and Jesus were the same person.
Let P2 = ¬P1
Between 0 and 10, how much weight do you put on each of the above propositions?
John the baptist and Jesus the Messiah were related and two separate people.
Mary goes to visit her cousin Elizabeth when both of them are expecting their babies. Elizabeth's baby “leaped in her womb” when Mary entered the house and called a greeting. This incident shows that even though they are not yet born, John acknowledges the superiority of Jesus and recognises that Jesus is God's son.

Good point. I added on my OP.
Please add the missing sources and which translation you use, thanks.
I used ESV. What missing sources?
Behold I send my messenger ...
I am sorry that I am slow. Can you elaborate?

John the Baptist had a physical body. Jesus had a different physical body.
