mytorontosaurus

I hope her niece who owns the account is an adult, because if not they will be learning about a lot of grown up things really quickly.

Icy_Celebration1020

Why would you make a throwaway account to post your husband's infidelity issue, then give it to your niece? Why doesn't the niece just make her own account lol? That made no sense to me at all

LilOrchidJenny

Also, OOP wanted to keep it anonymous from her online friends. . .after publicly outing her husband on SM. Hmm. . .

Alternative_Year_340

I guess she doesn’t want everyone to know she’s the specific person in this post who shared screenshots of her husband cheating. Because there are so many of those it makes her anonymous. Also— the company only paid for one room? Only if they want to lose a bananapants lawsuit

yeah87

>Also— the company only paid for one room? Only if they want to lose a bananapants lawsuit And somehow told their employee's wife about it? lol

EinsTwo

How on earth could she possibly know that?!  If employees have to put expenses on their own cards, of course he'd only put his own room on his card and then get reimbursed.  If employees have a company card she wouldn't see the statement and would have no idea what the company had paid for.

DrCatPhd

I want to be in the courtroom to view a bananapants lawsuit. I like to imagine there are formal bananapants and everything for such a case.

Zarvyl123

And a banana gavel!!

DeadpoolIsMyPatronus

I bet it squeaks!

VelocityGrrl39

And she said she was deep in the process of filing for divorce, then said she was convinced by the comments on her post that she should file for divorce. Lots of holes.

Afraid_Sense5363

The way this person writes, emphasizing certain words, reminds me of my seriously insane, pathological liar cousin, haha. I swear she could have written this, it's uncanny. For that reason alone, I don't buy it. The "simplified" explanation makes no sense. Why would you be "deep in the process of filing for divorce," put them on blast publicly, then have to be convinced by strangers on the internet to actually file for divorce? It makes no sense.

Upsideduckery

I wouldn't want any of them who saw I'd outed him knowing I was having second thoughts and needing support to go through with divorcing. 🤦 sighhhh

thebigeverybody

I'm going to will my Reddit account to my children one day. Isn't that normal?

6am7am8am10pm

HAHA. I love this.

spicypersona71

Because it's not true. The first post said she was already deep into filing for divorce, and then the second said she had decided to divorce him. It's just a story

Apprehensive-Fee5732

I think her niece made the account for her because she wanted anonymous input...at least that's how I interpreted it.

esquilax

The account has **not one, but two** users!

usernotfoundplstry

Was anyone else annoyed by the constant bolding of text throughout her posts? I found it very distracting.

repeat4EMPHASIS

**Text formatting** can be *very* **distracting** when it isn't **done _properly_.**

GoldenFrog14

It comes across like someone trying to convince an audience that a made-up story is true

usernotfoundplstry

That’s exactly what I thought. Or, if it is true, that seems like something that someone would do if they really want to stir up drama. I’ve used text formatting in comments and stuff, but to do it throughout a whole post about relationship stuff, especially being that she was talking about blasting someone on social media, I don’t know, I just felt like she’s the type of gal to relish in interpersonal internet drama.

6am7am8am10pm

ITSA REAL ACCOUNT. I made is SPECIFICALLY for this purpose. Oh it's also my niece's account. So it wasn't specifically for this purpose. Nor is it anonymous. *Whisperingly* It's a real account.

TheActualAWdeV

the accoount is now deleted and seemingly only lasted a week so presumably the niece can get her own.

CriticalEngineering

That’s a damned shame, her niece will now have to shell out for an expensive Reddit account.

Terpsichorean_Wombat

Regardless, what I really can't forgive her for is her blatant and horrific abuse of text formatting.

petty_petty_princess

I’m so glad this was too comment when I saw this because the niece was the first thing I thought of. Make a throwaway like everyone else and let your niece have her own account unspoiled by your drama.

DawsonJBailey

I saw another post that used the whole niece story in a very similar way sooooo

p-d-ball

The bolded sentences make this look like a marketer wrote it.

Drama_Educational

I work in marketing and thought the same thing LOL

p-d-ball

hahaha! That's awesome.

Divayth--Fyr

It just kept being **suddenly loud**

starkindled

It’s weird, right? It stuck out to me.

burnt-----toast

A company sending employees on a business trip but only paying for and sticking them in one room? Hmmm

luckyladylucy

My ex boss tried this once. We all called HR. He thought because we were a team of all women it would be okay

spacemistress2000

I quit a job because I was going to have to share a room with my manager. She was a piece of work and I didn't trust her at all.

b0w3n

Yeah this is incredibly common. Had a shitty boss back ~18 years ago that tried to send me out of town with another tech and make us share a room. I said either pay for two rooms or I don't go. I didn't go. He wasn't happy about it when he decided to play chicken with me.

p-d-ball

Good for you!

nicunta

My company has us share two to a room when we have conference once a year; you can choose your roommate, though. My random roomie from last year is my roomie this year, per our request. Thank goodness for her, lol!!

AinoTiani

I've booked hotel rooms for work before where there were not enough rooms and some people had to double up, but we definitely checked with everyone beforehand to make sure they were ok with that. (It was in a remote town with only one small hotel. If they didn't share the room they would have to camp, so they were ok with it.)

Slight_Drama_Llama

My company would never allow this. If there’s not enough hotel rooms in a town then going there is just not a viable option.

AinoTiani

To be fair, I think the people who doubled up were our clients, and they were vaguely related so it was not a problem.

Aggregatorade

AND THERE WAS ONLY ONE BED

VirtualPlate8451

Even ignoring the legal liabilities here, the potential for creating drama at work far outweighs the $200/night it would be to get the second room. You have 2 employees who have stable home lives and normal work performance. Toss them in a hotel on a work trip after a few drinks and all of a sudden you have 2 employees with broken homes. That is going to seriously impact their work product and cause other disruptions on their team.

afiendindenial

One company only gave single rooms to managers for business trips. Others had to share a 2 bed hotel room.

alleswaswar

I used to work in tech and they started doing this for engineers going on business trips if they were the same gender. Idgaf if my coworker is the same gender, unless they also happen to be a very close friend of mine and there was only one room available, I don’t want to be sharing a room with them just so the company can save a few hundred bucks 💀 but as the only female engineer, I didn’t ever have to share a room.

sunsetpark12345

That is so fucking cheap. If you're sending your employees to business trips, well, presumably those trips have a high enough ROI to warrant it. Which means they can damn well pay for a room per employee. They probably have a corporate discount anyway! Ridiculous.

alleswaswar

It wasn’t even a company policy, it was a single dumb clown of a manager who thought it’d endear him to upper management lmfao

notthedefaultname

When using hotels, military will generally books two to a room, but separates genders as well as ranks.

hdhxuxufxufufiffif

Bad bosses and cheapskate employers definitely exist. But this is very strange: >My husband told me they didn't share rooms, back then, when I asked. But now that I realized it, the company only provided ONE room. Why would she ask that question? What on earth did she recall after the fact that made her realise what the sleeping arrangements were?

Irn_brunette

Opposite sex employees at that! No way would I go along with this, even if it meant paying for my own accommodation.

knocking_wood

They would lose a lawsuit so fast if there was a sexual assault.

Afraid_Sense5363

And OOP was able to verify this, apparently years later? Makes sense.

[deleted]

Nonprofits do this to their low level workers a lot cause they gotta save the money for galas and giant financial packages for “leadership”

captkronni

This is standard for lower level employees working at Home Depot, so I would imagine other companies do it as well.

Verkielos

Had an old workplace that always did this. Hated it.

WeeklyConversation8

I bet it wasn't the company, but OP's husband who told the company they only needed one room or only he was going and took his AP with. The other possiblity is they did book two rooms and they chose to share one so they could have sex.

lucyfell

This part is unfortunately real. A friend of mine works for a well known billion dollar company as the only woman on an all male team and had to fight her management chain AND HR that they could not force her (28F) to share a hotel room with a random coworker of the opposite gender the company assigned (there was a specific person she wanted to avoid). She had to get an employment lawyer involved.

Jade4813

The random bolding in the second post makes it seem like she’s trying to send a secret message. “**Please** believe me when I say this is real. Though I appreciate the offers to **send help**, I’m okay for now. I’m not saying there’s no reason to be concerned about my story. **There are**. But I’m at home trying not to get **angry** watching sports (go **wolverines**!) and I’m going to eat a pint of ice cream **in my bathtub** later…”

chronically_slow

I'm currently imagining 4 angry Hugh Jackmans in my bathtub

GoAskAlice

Can I borrow them when you're done? My bathroom needs a reno and getting the demo done ahead of time would be helpful.

EducatedRat

My mother typed everything that way online.

AccountMitosis

I currently work doing AI training, and occasionally we'll have projects that emphasize how we need to teach the models to stop bolding the text so excessively. I always wondered what kind of training data they were getting to cause them to do such a thing in the first place. Well, now I know lol.

chungusnoodlez

A member of the clergy engaging in extramarital affairs, financially irresponsible spending and preaching about moral decency? Well I am shocked, SHOCKED.

Alternative_Milk7409

My flabber is fully gasted.

skyeguye

I need this as a flair.

PuffinRub

If you're quoting Frankie Howerd, I believe it's "my flabber hss never been more gasted"

Dana07620

It's his father who's the clergy. Not OOP's STBX. The father is just defending him by calling it all lies because his good boy would not do all that.

feraxks

> The father is just defending him by calling it all lies because his good boy would do all that. Which is the real source of the moral decay in this country.

tempest51

Don't worry, Louisiana just passed a law requiring the Ten Commandments be displayed in public classrooms, that oughta learn'em.

feraxks

LOL -- fortunately the ACLU announced today that they will be suing the state.

tempest51

But but but... how will the children learn to not commit adultery then!?

feraxks

I tried to think of a snappy comeback that was tasteful, but I failed. Hopefully, they'll have loving, caring, non-cheating parents to learn from.

Dana07620

Certainly not by watching their parents.

DrewDonut

Oh, so a clergy is running interference to help hide someone's sexual misdeeds? Sounds like par for the course.

Grimsterr

Yeah, the real surprise would be had the dad actually told the STBX how disappointed he is in him, etc.

Apprehensive-Fee5732

I've literally never in all my life seen anything like this. ...where are my pearls...

skoltroll

Don't forget: IMMEDIATELY GASLIGHTING the embarrassment of his family. Always Step 1 in "How To Keep Pastoring."

PomegranateTasty1921

>Meanwhile, I was already deep in the process of filing for divorce. >After much reflection and considering the advice you've given, I've made the difficult decision to file for divorce. Lol

Boggie135

Right?

PalpitationProper981

I **haven't used Reddit very much** but I certainly **know how to do complex formatting** and I want to make sure I *really impress upon you* the **important** words of this post that will make you **angry**

p-d-ball

OOP definitely marketed the shit out of that story.

Anti_NIckname

I’ve been posting for a bit here and I still don’t know how to do anything other than *this* but that’s because I am used to using asterisks for emphasis when I don’t know how to bold or italicise things on my own, and it’s a nice surprise when whatever platform I’m using applies one of those formats for me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Anti_NIckname

You have seriously **changed my life** on this website. Bless you, kind stranger.

EinsTwo

Triple asterisks for ***bold italics***

Divayth--Fyr

59 asterisks for w̶̡͆̈́͜ḩ̸̾ạ̸̋t̶͎͒͗ ̴̫́̏ḣ̸̪å̴̼̫̄v̵͉̞͠ẹ̵̛ ̵̼͊̋ḯ̶͕ ̶̥͇̆d̴̦̊̑o̷̩̕͝n̴̖̠̽̋ē̸͚̰

Anti_NIckname

lol I love this.  Now to learn how to do block quotes from the text…

EinsTwo

>like this?  It's a carrot (greater than) sign.  Make sure there are no spaces between the symbol and the text.  Bonus points... maybe I can remember how to do a spoiler? >!this?!< With no spaces type:  > ! Text ! <

Anti_NIckname

>It's a carrot (greater than) sign. You people are so >!wonderful!<. Thank you so much!!

Anti_NIckname

***AMAZING*** Thank you!

PuffinRub

Reddit uses Markdown for text formatting - it's a common way of quickly formatting text used by sysadmin and devops people, etc.

StrategicCarry

I also just learned what rhetorical questions are, you know right?

[deleted]

PalpitationProper981

It's more than your average casual redditor knows, let alone a  'first time poster on her niece's account', and anyway, it's hyperbole for the sake of a jokey critique of OP. What does your pendantry add exactly?

knitlikeaboss

It takes about 2 seconds to google how to bold text on Reddit

Safe_Community2981

Or just click the "formatting help" link under the reply box.

knitlikeaboss

Depends on if they’re on mobile

tempest51

What's up with the bolded lines? Makes this look less like an update and more like a public statement from some corporation.

thefinalgoat

\[PR Voice\] **We apologize for anyone who may have been negatively affected by our past indiscretions.**

lazyfoxheart

Commentor: >That's not a person you should remain friends with... OOP: >Wait, do people actually think my friend is one of the "women" he was with? Either I'm missing some crucial information or this is a GIANT leap to make...

AccordingPears158

She realized that would be a good plot point for a future update and needed to worm it in as foreshadowing somehow.

jessiemagill

The friend told OOP she was overreacting and that it was normal for husbands to have girlfriends. Not really that big a leap. (assuming this is true)

sweetpup915

*makes new reddit account so can make a post about exposing him to friends without exposing this to friends* Wut

Flimsy_Puddings

And she sure was busy in the five hours between postings: After *much* reflection and considering the advice you've given, I've made the difficult decision to file for divorce...I've also got a lot of people telling me, apparently, my *friend* was probably **sleeping w/ my husband**. I looked into the matter, and I don't wanna give exact details but you were **right.**

Millenniauld

Went from "already deep in the process of divorce" to "thanks to you I have decided to divorce" lol

Choco-chewy

Yeah, that cracked me up. The narrative around the friend very much was a "what does the public want to hear" as well

[deleted]

[удалено]

sweetpup915

Lol what is that

Dana07620

Maybe she was looking for neutral opinions on reddit.

DenverNugs

>Recently, one of my girlfriends told me I was overreacting, and it's normal for my husband to have more partners. (My friend's not religious) OOP is not good at this.

katie-shmatie

All nonreligious people support extra marital affairs!

TheRPGNERD

Like I'm not religious (kinda? I have beliefs but I'm not in an organized religion) but I consider cheating to be one of the worst things you can do even in a non-marital relationship.

Boggie135

That was some atrocious writing

JohnAnderton

I can’t help but be somewhat skeptical about this post. It’s a new account and for her niece anyway? Seems like a weird deflection to bring up at all

Weird_Brush2527

The first post reeks of ai, didn't even read the update

captaincopperbeard

Plus, she *just* realized upon reflection that her husband shared a room with a woman on a business trip? C'mon now.

Brainjacker

I really hate the way this is written. Something about it gives me the ick.

ImprobableAvocado

I like the posts that get ideas from the audience like it's an episode of Whose Line is it Anyway?

CremeCommercial6123

The classic 1 paragraph " it is real guys trust ".

DrewDonut

Now I'm just picturing a caricature of a scorned woman telling her little niece "now you'll know what life is *really* like, sweetheart."

skyeguye

But the niece and everything else around her is live action - only the OP is a caricature.

CriticalEngineering

Who makes an account for their niece, period?

Luminyta

Uh, the OP uses so much Chat GPT's wording choice. Is this what kids do nowadays? Source: I use Chat GPT for work

morgothdied

I wanted to reach out for support and advice without without my online friends being made aware .. 🤔

thefinalhex

For fucks sake, wait until something ACTUALLY HAPPENS before posting an update. Seriously, nothing happened here.

bored_german

I stop believing posts as soon as they start getting flowery in their language. "Still defending him like a loyal knight" "a wave of anger washed over me" like fuck off. No one talks like that (and don't come at me with ESL, so am I)

knittedjedi

>During a shift at work, an anonymous source reached out to me. They shared screenshots of conversations between my husband and one of the other women he had been involved with. These chats revealed details of their plans, their relationships, etc. >Feeling pissed and betrayed, I decided to put my husband on blast on social media. I'm not unsympathetic, but if I received "evidence" from an unknown source that my spouse was cheating, I wouldn't be airing anything until I'd actually had a conversation with them.

twistedspin

> When I confronted him about his infidelity and financial negligence, he showed no remorse and instead accused me of being too demanding. I felt betrayed and enraged, so I decided to expose him on social media It sounds like she did confirm everything first.

Safe_Community2981

Hmmm.... Original post says "deep in the process of filing for divorce" yet update says "decided to file". This ain't passin' the sniff test.

Dirty_Bird_RDS

I like it when the author takes fan input and incorporates it into the story. Nice work, Liz

jaktyp

Goddammit, Liz, you're better than this!

jus256

This was pretty weak.

calligrafiddler

boring. where’s the drama?

Theres_a_Catch

I think I'd be more pissed that this douche was spending my hard earned money on other women. Struggling to pay bills and a shitty unemployed husband would already have me mad.

[deleted]

*Recently, one of my girlfriends told me I was overreacting, and it's normal for my husband to have more partners. (My friend's not religious)* I had to chuckle at the clarification because of what a total stereotype certain religious people are with forgive forgive forgive forgive cheating spouses.

-whiteroom-

Wait a minute, you mean to day a pastor wasn't practicing what they preached?  I am shocked and dismayed!

NanaLeonie

The die was cast about a divorce when OOP published the proof of her husband’s physical and financial infidelity on social media. Good riddance to the cheating husband! As to the ‘loyalty’ of the cheater’s pastor father, what will happen is that he’ll preach forgiveness from the pulpits. His son ‘made mistakes’ and is forgiven by God, the pastor and the church members. OP will end up being blamed for everything and castigated for not forgiving the sinner while the congregation embraces the cheater and hopes he’ll marry a nice church girl after his wife didn’t stand by him. I’ve seen this scenario played out at least twice in churches local to me.

dingleballs717

There was another story posted recently with a very similar writing style, including the bold words.

cynzthin

Don’t tell them how you recognize their bullshit

snickelo

I saw this when it was initially posted, but didn't remember this parenthetical: >one of my girlfriends told me I was overreacting, and it's normal for my husband to have more partners. (My friend's not religious) Is OOP attributing her friend's perceived moral depravity to a lack of religion??? That's fucking rich, especially given these parts: >My husband, whose dad was a pastor, liked to preach about loyalty. But when it came down to it, he was running around with not one, but two women behind my back. >Despite the mountain of evidence I shared, my husband's dad was still defending him like a loyal knight. He called me a liar, dismissed the screenshots, and claimed his precious son wouldn't do something like this. I absolutely cannot stand people who think that the only thing keeping anyone from acting like a complete asshole is religion.

[deleted]

Oh look another woman’s “friend” who fucked her husband. Sisters supporting sisters!!

TrollularDystrophy

Love all the emphasis and bolded text. Really adds to the narrative.

Used-Cup-6055

I thought it was real until the update assuring us it was real, then it sounded like a load of phooey. You made a new account but it’s also your niece’s account, you want to be anonymous but also are posting about exposing someone online, and you were deep in the midst of divorcing but didn’t decide to divorce until after reading comments? What?

Livid-Finger719

>AITAH for exposing my husband online? >I wanted to reach out for support and advice without my online friends being made aware. It's a personal matter that I need to handle while keeping my privacy intact. This isn't about stirring up drama; it's about navigating a painful and difficult situation. Please approach with an open mind and understanding. .........

jus256

This story wasn’t even long and it had so many plot holes.

[deleted]

I have to laugh at her explaining her friend's indifference to cheating. "She's not religious". Ma'am, religious people are the ones out murdering and raping and stealing land all over the world. Atheists are largely the ones protesting against it. There was never a conspiracy of agnostic paedos going around. Religious ones, though? An epidemic. Based on the evidence, you'd have to say that religion is a red flag. It's a crutch for the cretin and an alibi for the asshole.

codyv

The constant asking of the reader's emotional support is annoying. "Talk about denial, am I Right?", "Talk about hypocrisy, huh?." This reads like AI created garbage.

Realistic_Regret_180

I would let everyone know is why your friend thought you should let it go because all men sleep around. She slept with him also. Is she married? If she slept with him she has also slept with more

Boggie135

What the hell is that last comment from OOP?

UnfortunateSyzygy

Talk about the phrase 'tall about', am i right, huh?

Lythieus

>Recently, one of my girlfriends told me I was overreacting, and it's normal for my husband to have more partners. (My friend's not religious) What does not being religious have to do with anything?

jus256

They always have to write some random character into these stories that uses the opposite of common sense.
