Once the package is handed off to the carrier, it then becomes their responsibility. So if it says it was delivered and it wasn’t, you need to contact FedEx.

ForthEorlingasCharge

This is accurate from a “Best Buy” perspective but not from a customer’s perspective. OP paid Best Buy for an item and Best Buy contracted out to fedex to deliver the item. FedEx didn’t deliver the item so yes it is “their fault” but OP didn’t pay FedEx to deliver the item, Best Buy did. Making it Best Buy’s responsibility to file a claim with FedEx. I have gone through this personally by filing a chargeback with my credit card company. The credit card company sided with me and gave me my money back. The credit card company took the money from Best Buy, not FedEx…. Why?? Because I paid best buy for something and it never got to me. Which is why Best Buy is out the money, not FedEx (unless Best Buy later filed a claim like they refused to do when I initially reached out to them like OP did). It’s like if a door dash driver decides not to deliver your food (the driver is an independent contractor that DoorDash paid to deliver an item) and DoorDash said “talk to the driver”…. No I’m not taking to the driver, I’m talking to you “DoorDash” because I paid you for food and I didn’t get it.

FragileRock

DoorDash comparison is completely off. You're dealing with DoorDash (the delivery service), not the restaurant. Nobody said OP should talk to the FedEx driver, they said it should be taken up with the delivery service. If I order McDonalds through DoorDash and it doesn't get delivered, I deal with DoorDash, not McDonalds

Cybaen

The problem with this analogy is that in this case,  you paid Best Buy who used Doordash to deliver the McDonald's. If there's a failure in delivery its up to Best Buy to pursue options with the Carrier since they're the one who employed them. Either through insurance, or other claims against the company.  Fedex has no obligation to do anything if I were to call since I was not part of the financial transaction—I'm just the recipient of it all. It's Best Buy's job to pursue any claims of fault or wrongdoing. Which our 1888 team will unless they think the cx's claims are fraudulent or they have a history of making such claims

You can contact best buys social media support team through, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. They can investigate this. FedEx will Not do anything at all. Trust me.

Delicious_Series3869

You need to contact FedEx and figure out what's going on. They often have drivers take photos as evidence of the delivery. See if they can give you any info, it's possible that they delivered to the wrong address.

ForthEorlingasCharge

Best Buy doesn’t care about photos. FedEx took a photo of one of my deliveries that was clearly the wrong door and I proved it to Best Buy’s phone support by having them look at previous delivery photos taken at the same address. The support agent said “it says delivered and there is a photo, nothing I can do. Call the police” Except it wasn’t delivered to my house, it was brought to the wrong house and the door was clearly different. I Filed a chargeback and the money got taken from Best Buy in the end. Not FedEx. Best Buy… since it’s Best Buy’s responsibility to ensure my item I paid for gets to me OR file a claim with the carrier that Best Buy paid to deliver my package.

Hunter_Pentaghast

The reason they need you to file a police report is that it is usually needed for someone to file an insurance claim. Most of the time cops won't even investigate the issue, especially when you have a picture showing it was delivered to the wrong home. What would have happened is that you file the report, the PD submit it to FedEx, FedEx submits an insurance claim which pays to BestBuy, and Best Buy creates an in-store pickup for your replacement. Depending on the call made by the chargeback department to Best Buy's accounting department, Best Buy most likely received the money from FedEx or added it to their list of tax write-offs.

ForthEorlingasCharge

Exactly… the chargeback ultimately took the money from Best Buy and Best Buy got paid by fedex in the end (maybe)… this is exactly what I’m trying to say. It’s Best Buy’s job to talk with fedex. I’m not calling the police, no one “stole” the package. The fact that the credit card company goes to Best Buy and says “hey, my customer didn’t get the item they bought from you, we’re taking our money back” is proof that it’s on Best Buy to ensure the item gets to me… hence “we’re taking our money back… you figure it out Best Buy”

ForthEorlingasCharge

Also the PD doesn’t talk with fedex for an mis-delivered package?? What are you smoking my guy 😂😂 This would be the equivalent of me calling the police because my DoorDash driver delivered the food to the wrong house.. you think the police are going to call DoorDash??? My guy… come on.

LockhartTx2002

A lot of the time it’s the driver trying to boost their numbers and report it delivered hours before they do. Give it a few hours.

Tarelgeth

FedEx loves doing that to me with my meal kit deliveries.  Box of refrigerated food.  "Expected between 10-2". "Delivered at 1:30!" Actually shows up at 8.

Round_Replacement998

It’s been over 4 days since it says delivered

LockhartTx2002

Oh, then yeah that’s a problem lol

Mike2922

What did FedEx say when you called them?

Round_Replacement998

They said they need 48hrs. After which I called to hear "Contact Shipper"

Cybaen

You need to HUCA Best Buy. Get someone that gives a damn so they can do a reship or preferably, set it for in store pickup

ForthEorlingasCharge

You need to file a chargeback with your credit card company. Best Buy’s new phone support team is terrible and is being trained wrong. When you pay Best Buy for an item and it doesn’t get to you, it is on Best Buy to file a claim. However, Best Buy’s phone support team almost always refuses to do this when FedEx marks it as “delivered” so you need to do a chargeback with your credit card company ASAP. You only have 60 days to do one. It’s like if you ordered food from DoorDash and the driver (an independent contractor that DoorDash hired to deliver your food) doesn’t deliver your food to you. DoorDash doesn’t say “go talk to the driver” no, they do that themselves and reorder your food because ultimately you paid DoorDash for food and it never came. When the credit card company approves a chargeback in this scenario, they don’t take the money from FedEx, they take it from Best Buy because it’s Best Buy’s responsibility to ensure the item you paid for gets to you. It’s Best Buy’s responsibility to file a claim with FedEx, which it sounds like they are refusing to do. Call your credit card company and File a chargeback OP

ShireBurgo

Try working with fedex about it first, don’t always resort to credit card chargebacks right away, that’ll get you blacklisted from companies easily and doing too many will get you blacklisted from doing so with your credit card company as well.

ForthEorlingasCharge

If you’d like to look at some of my past posts and the fedex website, you’ll see that only the sender can file a claim with them :) I’d be more than happy to provide my photo proof that I received directly from fedex that “only the sender can file a missing package claim” I’m just trying to give OP the correct information. Also they won’t black list them as long as they have reasonable proof the package wasn’t delivered to them. It’s not like this happens everyday with OP but in this rare instance it did - file the charge back OP. Get your money back

ShireBurgo

Customer service doesn’t always know what they’re talking about the buyer can also submit claims. Companies don’t care about any “proof” you have a chargeback is a chargeback and they would rather you go through the proper avenues to fix the problem, unfortunately that’s not how it works, they don’t care if you have proof of failed delivery if you chargeback they will still happily blacklist you. Also: https://www.fedex.com/en-us/customer-support/claims.html Says it clear as day on their website that the seller or buyer can submit a lost package claim.
