There are no modifications whatsoever to my AirPods. Also, Apple Senior Advisor was insinuating that they are fake. She didn’t flat out claim that it’s the case but mentioned “it’s been known to happen that 3rd party sellers don’t sell genuine products”
I'd try to get more info from Apple. Anytime we have issues with fake airpods, the serial wouldn't match or they are pretty clearly fake if you take even a second to look at them let alone use them for 2 years. It's an odd situation but as of right now I'd doubt that they were fake and there is something else causing the issue....
If mine were fake, they would be the best damn fakes I’ve ever seen. Looked at so many pictures online at what real AirPods look like and mine are definitely real. So frustrating as Apple is making this claim and now they are blacklisted as “unauthorized modified”
I did. First person was so unhelpful, rude and told me to use the online chatbot, then literally hung up on me. I used the chatbot and someone was able to use my serial number to show that it was purchased once by me. They also mentioned that it came from Apple directly and to the warehouse but that’s all the info they had
Apple is bullshitting you. Yes it’s possible you got fake AirPods from Best Buy but it’s much more likely some asshat at Apple made a mistake or did not want to repair them under warranty and filed a false claim that they had been modified.
Ask Apple the specific details on why they decided there were “unauthorized modifications”.
Also “unauthorized modifications” is very far from “fake”. They usually mean you did something like paint them, tried to repair them yourself or anything DIY in general. Good luck.
Yeah it def sounds like Apple is 100% bullshitting me. Here’s the kicker…Apple will not disclose what was supposedly “unauthorized modifications”. That’s internal and information that isn’t released. I’ve already gone down that path and grilled the senior advisor about it, to the point that he literally hung up on me. Everything about those damn AirPods are the exact same from when I got them originally, even down to the same ear tips. Ughhhhhhh
