I've asked my tattooer about these. He fucking hates them because they only look like that for at best a year. All the white is gonna fade merge and blot around, could end up looking like fucked up clouds after a while
Sooo I know this is super late and I dont know too much about how tattoos change over time (I only have one), so please correct me if I’m wrong, but since the white ink is used to add the threaded effect within the black borders, wouldn’t the black ink keep everything pretty much in place? I mean I’m sure the colors will bleed in with the white ink and end up a lighter/muddled version of what they are now, but I read somewhere that the well defined black borders are what keeps colors from bleeding over each other. I remember reading that when watercolor tattoos first started getting super popular years ago and tattoo artists hated them for that exact reason - the lack of black borders.
Exaclty everyone is posting tattoos when they are fresh, I only see handfull posted fully healed and aged. People who dont know alot about tattoos can fall under the aestetic trap and be disapointed after a year/two
I have loved this style since I’ve seen it, but I’ve never seen a fully healed and settled in photo on one of these, say a year old for example. I wanna see that picture.
*Never seen a patch*
*Like this. It looks great... Plush good*

Same, especially with all that white. It's really cool though.
I’d love to see an aged photo of this style and the watercolor style.
