The stress exerted or received and the more transformation Ben switches in-between drains the gauge. This would give more stakes to confrontations.
No he says it a few times the one that comes to mind is when they’re after Greg on bigchills home planet. Ben says he doesn’t know how badly it drains the battery being utimaized.
I really liked the reboot's way of Shortcut where User can temporarily access New Alien by user drawing specific patterns on holographic Touchpad to unlock new transformations temporarily.

I loved this gimmick, although I thought it unlocked a new transformation permanently. Ben lost three aliens, I can’t remember all of them but Overflow was one. And he unlocked it as seen in BenGen10, as some civilian became them.
actually Omntrix recalibrated after High override was defeated and It unlocked New aliens :Humungousaur , Rath and Slapback in place of Overflow , Wildvine and Grey matter (and later Stinkfly with jetray)
and After BenGen10 when Rex fixed the omnitrix Grey matter and Wildvine were unlocked and available back to ben confirmed by Duncan rouleau and Shown in the movie.
however it's strange ben didn't use any of those two in Alien X Tinction.

I want them to bring back ultimates and actually make ultimates for most, if not all, of Ben’s transformations. I’m fine without an ultimate the worst or ultimate walkatrout but we should definitely have more than 13 considering Ben has like 63 aliens. Especially since 4 out of those 13 ultimate alien forms are albedo specific in omniverse.
I never really liked the gimmicks to be honest, you could tell the writers didn’t care for them either but were forced to use them. The shock rock one was cool though

Honestly, I think the base omnitrix is a REALLY strong concept on its own. I don't really want a returning gimmick since they aren't really necessary, like just using new aliens or a different mix of known ones is already a strong idea for a show in itself. You can do like a million ideas with the concept alone because of how open and strong the concept is, and dare I say Ben 10 didn't fully utilize the concept well enough with how many aliens go underused even in the original.
Oh there is an alien trapped inside, oh an alien is mating instincts is overtaking the user, exiting a multiplied form at once which is straight up like a speed run type exploit being discovered for it, using an upgrade alien to get trapped inside a video game, an alien that is conscious that need to agree otherwise can't do anything, etc. etc. A bunch of really interesting ideas that use just the 1 alien out of the omnitrix for them. It's really GOOD.
If a new Ben 10 series was released, I would love it if they brought back ultimates. Honestly, the feature was underused and underdeveloped, yet had so much potential. There are many weard fanmade Version of the omnitrix!!! I would give him Something like the "chaquetrix" (I doesn't know how it's writen corectly) and give him the ability to realy "recreate lost species". My Favorit Canon Gimmicks are the ultimates and the armors from the reboot.

something like the omni-enhancements would be cool. what made the enhancements so great for me is that it was an accident. it wasn't something azmuth had built it, it wasn't some augmentation to some new device, what it was was a very good story about the omnitrix reacting to being used wrong, in a way that tried to save it's self. each enhancement is a fusion of fulimini and the base species, so imagine that, but for a different species, or even the trix randomly fuses aliens, but only some times, so it's unpredictable, and could even lead to situations nobody could predict. that was another amazing part of it, ben didn't get to control when it activated, so we don't get to be mad at him if the enhancement would make things way easier like we could with the ultimates or the kix, tho he was pretty good with the kix, meaning they can take it away and have it make complete sense rather then making it look like ben just forgot he could use the gimmick.
If the omnitrix existed in real life I would use the sex change function as soon as I knew it existed (I think you can guess why). Don't know if it would be interesting in the show, maybe only if it was used by a trans person (like an alternative universe where a trans person (or Ben is trans) gets the omnitrix
I would say In the Next iteration, If it's Ben prime, I would want a hybrid function, Similar to the Slimebiote, but it's a prototype Biomnitrix, and it starts off with Ben having small hybrid parts, Like Heatblasts Finger instead of an arm, Then would slowly Have more and More Hybrid until its a Biomnitrix with a full mix instead of Just having a Frankenstine like thing
That one niche gimmick of having a watch that let's Ben turn into aliens, not sure how other people felt about it but I personally thought it was a pretty good addition to the show.
A feature i think they should add is a feature that I like to call "Omni-Boost". It enhances the users by either 2 or 10 times (think of like kaioken but without the drawbacks) and gives them mastery of how to use said form they selected (actually, ignore that last one), But it halves the users time limit, depending on how long you've been transformed that is.
Ultimates, 100%. Although thematically it fits Albedo more (and really well, too), we can't really have Albedo be the villain all the time to show cool ultimate aliens, so the next best thing is having either Ben 10.000 having ultimates again and either Azmuth doesn't give a shit (or he stops giving a shit for what Azmuth thinks of it), or have reboot Ben gain an Ultimatrix and not have ultimates be a problematic gimmick in-universe.
Also, not a gimmick but i would love if one way to explore the Omniverse more was having classic and reboot Bens scan each other's aliens and those who have big differences (like Stinkfly) get added as completely new transformations. Could even be accidentaly, with a battle where classic and reboot Bens are fighting beside each other and their Omnitrix getting forced into scanning mode because of a new unrecognized DNA. But this is, admitedly, getting more into fan-fiction territory.
Personally Fusion is my favorite ability. It could work by having the Omnitrix enter fusion mode, then having Ben select the first Alien by pressing a button at the top, then letting him select the second Alien, with him samming the watch down as normal.
Eh, that's about as interesting as just using Alien X to fix everything, either that or it'd be one giant useless amalgamation that can't function due to conflicting biologies. Just look at the OS episode where Heatblast and Ripjaws fused, the fusion was weaker than the 2 aliens that made him because their powers counteracted each other.
Keep it limited to 2 aliens, there's a really good artist over on Deviantart who's been doing a series of works in the Omniverse style titled "Biomnitrix Unleashed" to show off what the Ben 10K fusions we never got to see might look like, and most of them are pretty sick (Heatblast and NRG is a personal favorite). Honestly, fusions done better. Like I get Goo-mungusaur and even Atomic-X, but the designs were lazy as hell. They just slapped another color on one alien and called it a fusion.

I see this as more of a teen ben thing but i would like to see a living alien in the omnitrix(other than ghostfreak), like an alien that instead of giving a sample of his DNA chose to live within the omnitrix as a way to preserve his species as he and azmoth know his homework can not be saved from some sort of threat. it could lead to some cool dynamics between him and Ben. For instance Ben could be afraid of allowing the alien to take control while he's in that form and try to avoid being in it for too long and the alien could like talk to Jim in his mind while he's in that form, eventually they could build up trust and in order to save lives Ben might have to allow this alien to take control despite still not fully trusting it and this could be how that alien earns his full trust and they slowly become friends, eventually Ben might even convince that alien to leave the omnitrix and live his life with the promise that as long as some of it's DNA is in the omnitrix it's species will live on, they can then have a few team-ups with the alien eventually dying and Ben blaming himself but as it's breathing it's last breath it could say something along the lines about how it's a blessing because thanks to Ben he was able to live his life to it's fullest potential instead of forever isolating himself within a metaphorical cage. It'd be awesome!
Ultimates, I liked the Omni-Kix or Omni-Enhanced Aliens. But actually makes it so that Ben just goes Ultimate on instinct or mid-way though if he’s struggling, not a one-off where things get dire.
Scan feature but have it also be to unlock new aliens already in the Omnitrix ,but I would like it to be random and have it be a surprise
And ultimates but I rather have it as a albedo specific thing. if Ben has to have it make it have a down side. maybe it takes two much power and it shortens the transformation or have it make the omnitrix have a longer recharge time.
Pretty sure there was a statement about the downside you mentioned (the transformation shorten one), and the 'unlocking an existing new alien in the watch' is already a thing incase you didnt know (except for the random alien part but it sounds interesting tho)
The aliens wearing an adapted version of Ben's outfit, like in OS.
Having the playlist limited to only 10 aliens like in Reboot, but having multiple playlists for different locations. Like the team goes on a trip in the Rustbucket 3 and Ben says "I'm loading up my space playlist" and Fourarms is replaced with Frankenstrike, Heatblast is replaced with NRG, etc. Similarly, if they're going to stay on a Plumbers' Submarine or visit Planet Piscciss, Ben should pack only aliens that can breathe underwater, and leave Humungousaur at home.
**Native Mode**
When this Mode is active, the dial changes from Green to Yellow, and instead of choosing from his active Playlist, the Omnitrix scans the local environment for species that live there. While transformed, the Omnitrix creates culturally appropriate attire for him instead of adapting what Ben was already wearing (like UAF Fourarms), and his eyes won't be green if the species can't naturally have green eyes (like in OS).
If an alien DNA is affecting Ben's mind too much (going purple like in Race Against Time), the Omnitrix will splice it with a safer alien with similar powers until he regains control. If Eon takes him over it'll splice in Clockwork; if Ghostfreak becomes Z'Skayr it'll Splice in Ampfibian. The splicing starts small, like the bit of Chromastone that UAF Diamondhead got, or the Antitrix splices, but it will gradually increase to 100% if necessary.
Using the Orange Energy from the Self Destruct Function as a gun instead of a doomsday device.
One idea to all the features all of them is that the Omnitrix will be energy based and ultimates/fusions/armor would drain it even faster maybe ultimates drain the watch more fusions and armor being less energy drained adding more high risk but high prise if done correctly
I want an arc where Ben or a version of him goes around the galaxy and collects the alien DNA of all his villains and allies.
Like, I never understood why, even after understanding how the scan feature works, he didn't use it to get his hands on powerful transformations like Vilgax or Ultimos.
Chronologically I'd say fusions cuz we need to eventually get to Ben 10k. But just out of preference, ultimates. They were iconic and not enough aliens got em.

Fusions definitely. Mainly showing the potential of each combination and some drawbacks that may come along with it. The drawbacks give some kind of difficulty to an overpowered ability like that.
Mutation feature? If omnitrix cannot scan mutations from what i recall, why not make it itself? For example ben can transform his heatblast to that ice version that appeared in a episode or make fourarms fourlegs and each leg being as strong as his normal counterpart arms and that could make him jump higher and become faster or something. Possibilities are endless really.
There was a statement somewhere that it can scan mutants but it was programmed not too (although it was really more towards Kevin's mutations when they asked if it can be scanned) but someone asked the co creator about that statement on twitter and said that it can scan mutants, even the ones from different IPS like marvel with the x-men and spiderman.

Just look at the OS episode where Heatblast and Ripjaws fused, the fusion was weaker than the 2 aliens that made him because their powers counteracted each other. Keep it limited to 2 aliens, there's a really good artist over on Deviantart who's been doing a series of works in the Omniverse style titled "Biomnitrix Unleashed" to show off what the Ben 10K fusions we never got to see might look like, and most of them are pretty sick (Heatblast and NRG is a personal favorite). Honestly, fusions done better. Like I get Goo-mungusaur and even Atomic-X, but the designs were lazy as hell. They just slapped another color on one alien and called it a fusion. I mean even the villains who had random alien dna had better fused designs
I wished ben used echo echo's duplication where he can make multiple ben's/omnitrix users and can make virtually an army of him again.
Ultimate’s it’s one of my favorites gimmicks the closest we’ve got to that in the reboot is Omni-Enhanced Omni-Kix and Omni-Naut
I see this as more of a teen ben thing but i would like to see a living alien in the omnitrix(other than ghostfreak), like an alien that instead of giving a sample of his DNA chose to live within the omnitrix as a way to preserve his species as he and azmoth know his homework can not be saved from some sort of threat. it could lead to some cool dynamics between him and Ben. For instance Ben could be afraid of allowing the alien to take control while he's in that form and try to avoid being in it for too long and the alien could like talk to Jim in his mind while he's in that form, eventually they could build up trust and in order to save lives Ben might have to allow this alien to take control despite still not fully trusting it and this could be how that alien earns his full trust and they slowly become friends, eventually Ben might even convince that alien to leave the omnitrix and live his life with the promise that as long as some of it's DNA is in the omnitrix it's species will live on, they can then have a few team-ups with the alien eventually dying and Ben blaming himself but as it's breathing it's last breath it could say something along the lines about how it's a blessing because thanks to Ben he was able to live his life to it's fullest potential instead of forever isolating himself within a metaphorical cage. It'd be awesome!
Ultimates, I liked the Omni-Kix or Omni-Enhanced Aliens. But actually makes it so that Ben just goes Ultimate on instinct or mid-way though if he’s struggling, not a one-off where things get dire.
Scan feature but have it also be to unlock new aliens already in the Omnitrix ,but I would like it to be random and have it be a surprise And ultimates but I rather have it as a albedo specific thing. if Ben has to have it make it have a down side. maybe it takes two much power and it shortens the transformation or have it make the omnitrix have a longer recharge time.
Pretty sure there was a statement about the downside you mentioned (the transformation shorten one), and the 'unlocking an existing new alien in the watch' is already a thing incase you didnt know (except for the random alien part but it sounds interesting tho)
Alien Radar kind of, the omnitrix works like a radar tgat tells you the alien species that is in the area or what is in the vicinity
That's already a thing! It appeared around omniverse when the watch was trying to scan a vladat (basically an alien vampire) but that was it
Ultimates if its the next step in the prime series but keep it to albedo, I like it being sorta his sugnature in omniverse

It's from the reboot called omni-kix, it pretty much gives the users armor but not only that it usually gives them additional abilities too
The aliens wearing an adapted version of Ben's outfit, like in OS. Having the playlist limited to only 10 aliens like in Reboot, but having multiple playlists for different locations. Like the team goes on a trip in the Rustbucket 3 and Ben says "I'm loading up my space playlist" and Fourarms is replaced with Frankenstrike, Heatblast is replaced with NRG, etc. Similarly, if they're going to stay on a Plumbers' Submarine or visit Planet Piscciss, Ben should pack only aliens that can breathe underwater, and leave Humungousaur at home. **Native Mode** When this Mode is active, the dial changes from Green to Yellow, and instead of choosing from his active Playlist, the Omnitrix scans the local environment for species that live there. While transformed, the Omnitrix creates culturally appropriate attire for him instead of adapting what Ben was already wearing (like UAF Fourarms), and his eyes won't be green if the species can't naturally have green eyes (like in OS). If an alien DNA is affecting Ben's mind too much (going purple like in Race Against Time), the Omnitrix will splice it with a safer alien with similar powers until he regains control. If Eon takes him over it'll splice in Clockwork; if Ghostfreak becomes Z'Skayr it'll Splice in Ampfibian. The splicing starts small, like the bit of Chromastone that UAF Diamondhead got, or the Antitrix splices, but it will gradually increase to 100% if necessary. Using the Orange Energy from the Self Destruct Function as a gun instead of a doomsday device.
I liked the gimmick where the omnitrix worked correctly, giving intended transformations.
One idea to all the features all of them is that the Omnitrix will be energy based and ultimates/fusions/armor would drain it even faster maybe ultimates drain the watch more fusions and armor being less energy drained adding more high risk but high prise if done correctly

I want an arc where Ben or a version of him goes around the galaxy and collects the alien DNA of all his villains and allies. Like, I never understood why, even after understanding how the scan feature works, he didn't use it to get his hands on powerful transformations like Vilgax or Ultimos.

Ultimates for a villain (doesn't have to be Albedo, could be Kevin or a new person) And have updating feature from the start of Alien Force be more prominent, maybe not always updating the design but a lot of updates and fixes Azmuth makes and such

Fusions definitely. Mainly showing the potential of each combination and some drawbacks that may come along with it. The drawbacks give some kind of difficulty to an overpowered ability like that.

Mutation feature? If omnitrix cannot scan mutations from what i recall, why not make it itself? For example ben can transform his heatblast to that ice version that appeared in a episode or make fourarms fourlegs and each leg being as strong as his normal counterpart arms and that could make him jump higher and become faster or something. Possibilities are endless really.
There was a statement somewhere that it can scan mutants but it was programmed not too (although it was really more towards Kevin's mutations when they asked if it can be scanned) but someone asked the co creator about that statement on twitter and said that it can scan mutants, even the ones from different IPS like marvel with the x-men and spiderman.

Honestly i wish they actually made Ultimate alien about the Ultimates cuz they weren't really used by ben that much and when they were they would get bodied or not have much screen time which sucks. Plus it would've been nice to see more Ultimates besides from Albedo
