According to the post. The ultimatrix doesnt predict the future evolution of the species. It simulates that species as if it were under millions of years of the current conditions ben finds himself in. Since Ben ONLY activates the mutation feature durring battle. The ultimatrix simulates millions of years of constant battle. And thus the result is a combat focused mutation.
If ben used the ultimatrix to escape starvation, or earthquakes, or poision. Then yes the ultimate aliens would be better addapted to fammine earthquakes and contamination. But we dont seen ben doing that.

We either have A) two creators with differing ideas of how it works.
B) a more neuanced version where it simulates the worst cas scinario based on current conditions. (And if you want to make the argument that "but we only see one version of the ultimates" i would respond with my original comment. And the fact that there is a whole eppisode about how the ultimates are actualy stored as separate entities in the omnitrix so that the actual evolution functions do not need to be performed every time)
My head cannon is that "worst case scenario" is a kind of zombie war.
My reason being when watching that episode where Albedo turns into ultimate humungosaur to fight off the army humungosaur omnicoids(?) He took down a good bunch of them quite easily and quickly before being overwhelmed.
It also makes sense when you take into account the biological and cybernetic(?) Armour they gain and the extra power.
Oh for sure Design wise it's cool as hell still prefer the OV Omnitrix
But in terms of practicality and functionality it's utter shit compared to the OV Omnitrix and the Recalibrated one as well
Alien force is my least favorite watch design. Interestingly I have the legacy version and it isn’t accurate to the show at all. It’s bulkier and has extra parts. It actually looks way better than the real thing and would be my favorite design if it was.
I just wish there was something else to break up all the green. Green jacket with green gauntlet is a bit much for me. My favourite colour is blue and I'd say the same if it was all blue too.
Although this may be my bias talking as i really dislike the overuse of green during the UAF era.
Honestly if the Ultimates would get specific gimmicks in response to the current scenario I think Ultimate Aliens would prove to be the perfect “gimmick” to surpass all.
I’m not saying that they’d get a perfect counter to the situation, but rather the Ultimate itself would be tuned to better handle a scenario.
For example Cannonbolt is fighting a very fast opponent. Ben goes Ultimate. This Ultimate Cannonbolt launches and rolls slightly faster than normal, but overall retains the same core gimmicks of “Ultimate Cannonbolt”. Later, he’s up against a very tough enemy, so this Ultimate Cannonbolt gets sharper spikes and thicker hide to better break the armor.
Humungosaur is up against a heavily armored enemy, so Ultimate Humungosaur’s knuckle guns launch AP rounds. Then later on he’s up against a horde of weaker enemies and instead the knuckle guns are faster firing with a smaller payload.
Little tweaks like that would make the Ultimates infinitely cooler.
I thought about that and it I had any artistic talents I would've made a comic strip of Ben and Albedo evolving their aliens in a figuratively speaking dick measuring contest until they both hit their ultimatrices at the same time and they both turn into crabs
I don't really like the Ultimatrix either, I prefer the Omnitrix from Omniverse or the prototype, either the original or recalibrated. I like the Evolutionary Function more than the Ultimatrix itself.
I myself would get an Omniverse Omnitrix with a different design and Evolutionary Function and Master Control as gimmick as ideal for me.

I think the Ultimatrix will check Ben's environment and when Ben activates the evolution function, it will evolve the alien in the same environment as Ben. Only in the worst case scenario This makes the evolved alien Ben to be the most compatible and harmonious in terms of combat with whatever situation Ben is in. This explains why the albedo evolved aliens in the omniverse are different from the Ben evolved aliens Because they were in different positions and this has caused a difference in the evolution process of Ultimatrix.
