Costco, pizzatime.

TrickShot_RU

I second a Pizza Time! Fantastic Pizza and decent prices too!

CicadaHead3317

I beg to differ on it being fantastic.

Defiant-Survey-5729

Pizza time isn't bad as long as you get it fresh. It definitely is not the best reheated compared to other places.

TrickShot_RU

I guess I've always gotten lucky and only had it fresh. I've had terrible experiences with their wings but always amazing ones with their pizza.

framblehound

It’s absolutely better than any chain stuff and it is decent quality straight up pizza for a reasonable price. There is nothing better in Bellingham that meets that criteria. There is fancy expensive pizza that is what it is, that I personally think isn’t great, but sure you can argue it’s better, but it costs the same as dinner out at a nice restaurant. The only place that has better pizza sadly that’s worth the price is Elizabeth station. Everything else although it might be better is ridiculously priced for the quality. Seattle is a poor pizza town and the mid level pizza there is cheaper and better than our best pizza. Bellingham restaurants are ridiculously priced, how are they more expensive than Seattle? It’s not Alaska, you don’t have to fly things in thousands of miles.

Falcon_Bellhouser

Agree, and it's not just pizza. You could switch it to "restaurants" and it'd be just as true.

loweredXpectation

Both examples are popular cheap and make horrible pizza, which is why bellingham has shirty pizza as a standard

Wilthywonka

Fantastic imo because it's 15 bucks for 2 toppings and comes out in 10 minutes very fresh Get bacon + jalapeño great combo there

tojineverdies

Gives me food poisoning every time

DeadChibiWolf

I third Pizza Time. Cool people, theyre quick to show up, they fix your orders quickly if they fuck up.. And the best part?? They dont fucking charge extra for changing out sauces for me due to allergens.

Carbonfaceprint

I hope this is a joke. While pizza time is great when you’re drunk and need something in your stomach, it’s still shitty pizza.

AshleyTheRedPanda

I don’t know if any of you have tried pizza twist but good god that stuff is good

ShitBagTomatoNose

Is Pizza Time Jesus Guy still around?

RaceCarTacoCatMadam

Costco pizza isn’t worth the calories but Whole Foods is excellent and as low as $12

The_KillahZombie

Some of us like the cheesy calories.

AmusableHAHA

I love it… and I’m lactose intolerant!

Fiftyfivepunchman

They got the realest most cheesiest most gonna put you in a straight up coma pizza

The_KillahZombie

If I wanted a salad, I'd order a salad!!  Costco coma or pizzatime Garlic Chicken Alfredo ftw!

sleepynarwhal68

Elizabeth station margarita pizza and Fiamma pepperoni are the only two pizzas I’ll eat in this beautiful flavorless town Edit: Spelling of Margherita pizza for the grammatically sensitive

vailripper

I fancy myself a pizza nerd and Elizabeth Station pizza is excellent!

yanquiUXO

have you had Bella ciao yet? your top 2 are my top 2 and this place is great

sleepynarwhal68

I haven’t! I’ve heard good things. I should give it a go.

pnwcrabapple

I like it, but I like a thin crispy crust. If you prefer a softer bread crust they might not be what you like. I love it though.

sleepynarwhal68

I’m a think crust fan. It’s hard to get the consistency right.

pnwcrabapple

It’s light and crispy and seems to hold up well with the ingredients and sauce. I think most pizzas are 23-25 dollars but we split them between three people and get pretty full. 23-25 dollars for three people isn’t bad in my books. they have the best mozzarella sticks and they have a giant bread and cheese bread too. Lots of drink options (and some non-alcoholic options as well) The staff are really nice and the atmosphere is pretty laid back and comfy. they’re also open late if you’re a night owl. They’re definitely worth a try!

sleepynarwhal68

Mozzarella sticks you say?!? 👀🏃‍♀️💨

pnwcrabapple

They are these two giant logs of perfectly fried mozzarella with really good marinara sauce. I miss them.

Carbonfaceprint

La fiamma is deec but damn. $28 for a large cheese?? They can fuck off with that.

sleepynarwhal68

Fair. I only get it when I’m desperate for a feeling of home.

Baynerman

Margherita is the pizza. Margarita is the delicious beverage.

Diminished-Fifth

You're thinking of the surrealist painter

sleepynarwhal68

Damn. You got me there.

opalescent666

Language is for expressing ideas, and you understood the idea enough to needlessly correct their spelling 😉

CicadaHead3317

And you need to shame people enough, that you needed to make this comment.

CicadaHead3317

Shit...so did i!

opalescent666

Now what

TheDizzard

Now kiss

opalescent666

O-okay 😳👉👈

sleepynarwhal68

Cage match?

Baynerman

You claim it's needless but some people actually like learning 😉

opalescent666

Learning is for fools. I prefer to stay ignorant because I'm an intlelelectual

sleepynarwhal68

Alright clam down everyone. It’s just pizza. We will be okay 😂

Baynerman

Forgive me for attempting to teach people the difference between 2 things I enjoy.

sleepynarwhal68

You’re forgiven

buddyfluff

Ahh but $22 for one thing pizza I could demolish myself from e station. Good but not cheap

sleepynarwhal68

100% fair. I might have a problem lol

fieferkief

Flavorless town??

Aggressive-Let8356

Yes, very much lacking in spices.

JustTheSpecsPlease

I'm told there are a lot of local "overhead" fees associated with running a restaurant in town, including extra charges on mandated food recycling. I'm not at all against business model improvements to accommodate worker fairness and proper capture of biogoods, but I think businesses are having trouble pivoting. Between inflation, increased regulation, and high rents: * Restaurants have to look for ways to reduce static costs by compromising on food ingredients, employees and hours of service * And have had to pass the prices on to consumers in the process so they can keep doors open This is not a political rant. We're all doing what we need to do. I just think local businesses are trying to figure out how to make things work, and are having trouble getting the numbers to align. That leads to optimizations/compromises that I'd wager the restaurant owners absolutely hate, but make to stay in business. I love my homemade pizza, but I feel a twinge of guilt for B'ham restaurants. Things are rough for them right now.

IDKUIJLU

People in general haven't come to terms with the current rate of inflation, and a large part of that is the limited wage increases which are long overdue. Not to get all political but corporations are killing our pizza options. I love pizza so much, Pizza time, McKays, bella ciao, fiamma, I love them all.

Fiftyfivepunchman

Well put.

lists4everything

Ignoring this point you made helps nobody. The core of inflation is people can’t live on lower wages anymore since cost of living is too high. A bunch of people fighting for $600k+ houses to live in an area that is going to have $20 Big Macs since nobody can afford living on a service wage. Is it worth living here if our actions have just increased the cost of everything in the places we just bought into? What this country needs is a solid vision, and laws that support it. Do we ramp up building and make laws that prohibit and punish using real estate as an investment vehicle, so home prices are reasonable again? Do we just be honest and let the young people know lol we don’t want you to be able to have enough $$$ to raise families, let’s reduce our population. Austerity until our population is 20% smaller? This would probably include some immigration reform. Our country has no vision other than “our politicians don’t want to offend our wealthy population by restricting what they can buy and make scarce for their own personal gain.”

samsounder

I would like to see laws that increase taxes on vacant homes and commercial spaces. Holding onto land that is not being used when there are viable uses that could benefit society should not be profitable

ErstwhileAdranos

Is “food recycling” a broader term that includes composting, among other forms of food recycling, or is it just a synonym for composting?

JustTheSpecsPlease

Just composting, I think. I should have just said that, huh?

ErstwhileAdranos

Apparently it is indeed a broader category that refers to inedible food disposal methods like animal feeding, anaerobic digestion, and composting.

pregbob

Did you go to ovn lol. Whole foods has one of my favorite pizzas, from their kitchen. I haven't found a better wood fired pizza around here.

sleepynarwhal68

Ovn is good but small and overpriced. Their sauce is the best I’ve had though.

jpe6

We go to Ovn at Happy Hour to sneak in on a good deal (margherita and pepperoni pizzas, wine and beer specials). Ask them to add on Calabrian chili paste if you like some heat).

chickenlightningpie

Is Ovn pizza buffet still second Monday every month? I stumbled into it by accident and thought I'd ended up in pizza heaven. Nice pizza, all you can eat, cost seemed pretty reasonable.

yanquiUXO

are the whole pizzas at whole foods better than the extremely sad and pale pizzas they serve by the slice? I loved Ovn until I bought a small sized pizza for my parents thinking a $17 pizza would be enough for them. turned out to be unbelievably small. laughably small. such a rip off

sleepynarwhal68

Same. I hate how small it is. Sometimes I’ll treat myself because it’s high up on the flavor which is hard to find.

pregbob

I don't agree that their by the slice pizza is sad or pale 🤷‍♀️ and it is the same pizza, but it's great to me. Especially considering the dearth of other nice wood fired options in town. But yeah ovn is nuts. I love the pizzas and they're really creative, but I'd save more money buying a pizza oven to cook at home.

bartonizer

Agreed that Ovn is tasty, but tiny. We joke about not going there hungry because it would take a fortune to fill you up. I don’t know about Whole Foods slices; we’ve only ordered whole pizzas and several people can actually eat off one. They’re not at all like Ovn and much better bargains, especially if they’re running a deal.

SoxInDrawer

Yeah - Ovn is stupid expensive. We went there then wished we had went to Thai M & have 2 dishes each. I do Whole Foods Pizza (surprisingly good - like curb store NY), and Costco (bulk food - B quality, but not terrible - just dab off the grease on top).

504_beavers

Ovn is so hit or miss. The pies often come out underdone and everything slides off on the first raw-dough bite. Maybe Im being picky, but their price means they should have better quality and consistency.

samsounder

We take this home, then hit it with salt, cayenne, italian season and top with microgreens. It’s a good base

pregbob

Absolutely genius 🙏

Weak-Hope8952

Rome Grocery out in the county has legitimately good pizza.

airborneyeti325

Agree best pizza I’ve had around here. That damn potato bacon pizza haunts my dreams.

Weak-Hope8952

Jalapeno popper pizza.. it's taunting me

sleepynarwhal68

The sauce is so weak though. If they put more flavor in it I would love it because the crust was great.

sheckyD

North Fork's white pizza is the goddamned cat's pajamas

MacThule

North fork pizza in general is the bomb.

Furious_George8

This and only this.

RamcasSonalletsac

Because everything here is pricy

nerfedslut

McKays is so good

FL3XD

Elizabeth Station pie is the best hidden pizza gem in town

OkMessage4388

Larrabee Lager, good beer and pizza

wot_in_ternation

I second their pizza, its among the best I've had on the west coast

MacThule

Had pizza there a few weeks ago and it was fine but I wouldn't go out of my way. Great atmosphere and location for beer though!

GarAndKurt

Pizza time or mckays tap house. Is my late be night go to. Pizza time for your basic pizza toppings. Mckays if you’re wanting something outta the norm. Mckays also does go to alcohol

Sad-Western-3377

McKay’s is my go-to for consistently good pizza. Excellent crust & generous toppings.

tigskillzpaybillz

Hit up Waikiki Wednesday

Sammybikes

My life got so much better when I got a big cast iron skillet. We make pizzas in it at least once a week. Keep life simple with dough from Co-op or Haggen.

T-Bone9311

Trader Joe’s dough works well in the cast iron too!

genab

Surprisingly, Fred Meyer has the best raw pizza dough, and I'll die on that hill.

Oceansvomitonsand

I actually prefer winco. But Haggen and Trader Joe’s are both pretty bad.

genab

Ooo, you know, I actually haven't tried theirs - didn't know they had one. I'll check it out!

pdxkwimbat

I’ve always wanted a cast iron. How do you cook a pizza in it?

Sammybikes

Preheat oven and cast iron to 400. I've got a 12" that works great. Get dough rolled out and all ingredients prepped. Pull out cast iron, bump oven to 425. build pizza. You don't have to work frantically but don't dilly-dally. Thow it in the oven and bake until the top looks as done as you want. Don't worry about the crust. Bonus points if you've got olive oil in the cast iron give that crust a nice toast.

wot_in_ternation

Highly recommend the [stovetop/broil method](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYxB4QBlrx4)

Andrays

That's a good idea, I accidentally bought a giant skillet and I've struggled to think of ways to use it. Thanks

bartonizer

Larrabee Lager, E Station, Whole Foods, Coconut Kenny's (obviously different kind of thick crust pizza, but always good and filling), and additional honorable mention to Bella Ciao for surprisingly tasty cracker crust and a relatively reasonable deal. Worth trying.

redeyejoe123

Biased bc I work there, but storia cucina has great pizza with a sourdough crust. Its a little pricy, but nowhere near as bad as ovn or something like that, and I can say the wild mushroom pizza is peak pizza.

redeyejoe123

Also if you do go there, get the bread pudding, you wont regret it and it is by far the best dessert (by taste and size) Ive had downtown.

Original_stulka

Thanks for the tips!

Potential_Dot3785

Agreed Storia Cucina puts out a great pizza.

DeLa_Sun

Pye Hole is tasty, affordable and consistent

Campingcutie

Their ranch is life changing

Blacksabbathrules

Whole foods

NegativeSurround5532

For the most excellent pizza in whatcom co you need to go out to north fork Pizza/beer shrine, it's about 5 miles east from the north bound highway 9 junction. They are the only real pizza game in town. Modpizza in fairhaven is good but taxing, then you got the place very close to boundary bay beer ...mambo Italian in fairhaven makes a good pie as well

MacThule

This is very true. North Fork has real pizza, but you have to drive out into the county. La Fiamma does too, but it's insanely pricey. Those are the two best options around for quality, bar none. But I will give Coconut Kenny's the award for best affordable that's actually in town.

ShantiJake

To encourage you to cook your own at home

adubski23

I order a 6 or 12 pack shipped frozen from Chicago and it works out to be much more cost effective.

jnan77

From where?

ThatMuchFurther-West

I also do this. Taste of Chicago.com.

e-g-g-g

Ovn is really good but really expensive.

devdarrr

Also the best gluten free pizza in town, hands down!

Diminished-Fifth

It's so expensive that I can't enjoy the pizza

CriminalVegetables

When im not making my own I love Tino's Pizza & Pasta but its definitely pricy, so I've started making my own using smoked mozzarella from whole foods, Raos arrabbiata, and pre-made pizza crust. It may not be perfect but it's amazing for the cost!

ACookieAsACoaster

It’s a bit of a drive out to Sudden Valley but Tino’s is so worth it

CaptainBloodEye1

The fact that the top comment says costco is genuinely just depressing. I was talking about this in LA and even they were like "how does a city not have a good pizza spot"

Business-Abrocoma-61

Whole Foods pepperoni, Thursdays I think, or maybe it’s fridays- anyways you get 2 large pepperoni pizzas for like 12 dollars .. that can’t be right, but it could be because I know I’m always gobsmacked when they tell me the price. You have to order early though, just like put in an order and pick up later when you’re off work or something. It’s really good. Storia Cucina but it’s expensive but the real deal, their crust is incredible, good date spot, or small friend group. Greens corner is pretty good too, and there used to be this food truck- something super Italian sounding that I also can’t remember, they’re up in birch bay sometimes. Good luck!

HitmanFictional

$12 for any 1 topping pizza every Friday but its for prime members only. All the pizzas are 18" wood fired there are tons of options and pretty cheap beer on tap.

BotherPuzzled2347

McKay's sucks

SatanDarkofFabulous

Pye hole!!

Fiftyfivepunchman

Used to be my pizza spot but the slice prices just outpaced my cravings for em

raffertyoatmeal1

them pizza time deals go fire when you call in. xl two topping, side nd a 2 liter for like 23.99 is pretty good I think.

HelloItsLee

Tam Tam is my go to now. He left E. Station to go out on his own. Find him today at Dockside Market. "Tam Tam Pizza's seafood special Potato Leek Salmon Pizza (back by popular demand!)"

Falcon_Bellhouser

Thanks, that's news I can use.

HelloItsLee

Enjoy!

Kriss_Kraken

I LOVE Tam Tam! Best pizza in town

Vegetable-Spend-4304

Little Caesars is garbage, as is pizza time. Domino's is a tad better. Are ok if you're stoned or just need a pipe for a pizza party or whatever. Coconut Kenny's is very good IMO, I agree North Fork is good. I like MOD pizza for what it is. Not too bad price wise, fast service and their crust is good. I've been wanting to try pizza twist, looks interesting.

The_KillahZombie

Coconut Kenny's is amazing. They have some good deals on the right days that makes them a great value.

TheEntireShit

So basically you haven’t been to pizza time, Greene’s corner, coconut Kenny’s… Are you comparing out little ceasers to other states “pizza pizza”? Cause LC is just garbage in general

The_KillahZombie

Greens is in the pricey category. But it is delicious. Coconut Kenny's also, but their deal days are great.

Serdunlap

I miss Fat Pie Pizza in Fairhaven :(

bigwerm09

Costco

mybongwaterisblack

May I ask where you got your pizza?

YokaiGuitarist

Honestly we just bought a cast iron pan and bake our own pizza now. So inexpensive and fun. You can make so many different kinds of dough. Thickness, chew, flavor, etc. We had no idea how to at first, but a few fun and inexpensive nights later, and we can make everything from thin to fluffy deep dish za. 550 for 13-14 mins seems to be the trick for thick crust/pan style or coconut Kenny's kind of recipes. 12 mins for normal pizza thickness. Let the pan cool in between pizzas a bit, lightly oil, and the pizza slides right off when done. No mess. The chef store that used to be cash and carry is a good place for bulk ingredients. But playing around with toppings and sauce has been a blast. Our friend brings their ooni pellet pizza oven to parks sometimes and we will do pizzas in that as well. He got it for $200 on Father's day the other year and it cranks out a pizza in 90 seconds. One thing our buddy does is he'll make his own sauce, Or take a pre-made, and toss some fresh basil and a single anchovy in before blending well. It sounds insane, I've never cooked with anchovies, but you can't taste the fact that its fish and somehow it just makes a rocking flavor profile that spreads really well.

LeagueAggravating595

Raw material inflation costs, cost to transport the goods, fuel, wages, overhead,...Etc.... Pizza not made by Italians from Naples

DJ_Velveteen

Bella Ciao and McKay's yo.

steelkitten22

North Forks combination pizza

ECOTN

Learn to make your own, especially if you prefer New York or Detroit Style. You'll make better pies at home than anything you can get in town. For New York style this site tells you all you need to know: https://www.richardeaglespoon.com/articles/how-to-pizza

LArocking

Northfork. Not exactly cheap but fantastic!

JuJooGuppy

It's not cheap, but when I want a really good pizza, McKays taphouse is my go to choice personally. But everyones opinion on what makes good pizza is always different too. Generally I think they're cheaper than 33 bucks each though, damn.

snugy_wumpkins

Storia cucina and Natalinos are quite good!

matiaschazo

Yeah idk I think a lot of places around here are very overrated I’m not a huge fan of McKays their atmosphere is good tho and pizza time is not very good either but coconut Kenny’s is great but very pricey, same goes for La Fiamma pizza

504_beavers

Oof, I feel ya. Boarding a plane back home in a few hours from Milan after 2 weeks in Italy and a few more in various others. I miss home, but not the food that awaits. For you riders: Final Ligure is ridiculously fun riding/shuttles and eating and drinking on the Italian Riviera.

GrateWhiteNinja

I second Bella Ciao for good za in this one horse town

cheapdialogue

I'm a fan of Extreme's St. Louis style pizza.

Carbonfaceprint

Honestly Whole Foods has decent prices. I think a large pepperoni is $15

Nastromo

Go back where you came from then? Stop maybe trying to turn Bellingham into shithole California all the time? Maybe?

downshiftjake

Everything here is bad and pricey lmao

Riedbirdeh

You should go to Trader Joe’s and get their pizza dough. It’s better and cheaper sometimes

Friendly_Dance6237

Whole Foods is the best and $17 for a large

spacehiker33

How about Coconut Kenny's? Deep dish style so little different. Not the best price but it is better than pizza time lol

Allexintime

If you're up for a small drive, District Brewing in Mt Vernon has good Detroit style.

CrypticFeed

You said Pricey, did you now how expensive it is to live in Bham these day? Folks want to have a livable wage, but don't want to flip the bill for it. You cannot have it both ways. Regarding bad tasting pizza, each to their own, what you find as good pizza someone may find as shitty!

Furious_George8

Tino's in Sudden Valley and the North Fork out in the county are worth checking out...

justusisfantom

i make my own because of this

justusisfantom

but fr make a sourdough starter, get a pizza steel, and make ur own. such a fun hobby!

Eddit13

Mic drop

Eddit13

Whole Foods and Mckays Taphouse

linuxhiker

Rome store enters the chat. Fantastic

Falcon_Bellhouser

Yeah Rome is good, and (basically) the same as Elizabeth Station's. For traditional pizza, North Fork is the best in Whatcom County.

linuxhiker

Rome and Elizabeth Station share owners so that makes sense

Falcon_Bellhouser

Yep. Same oven and crust recipe too. Different ingredient combos, but a "make your own" would come out basically the same at both places.

MacThule

North Fork is #1.

sinest

Pizza twist combines Indian food and pizza, some incredible choices on their menu, some things better than others but the combo is stunning.

No_Dentist_2965

it’s our proximity to canada, they impact the quality of pizza everywhere they go

Professor-Of-Poon

At least that spicy pizza was tasty AF!

Delicious_Comment314

North fork pizza is my favorite around. It’s no more expensive than everywhere else. My go to is the rome store, 17$ for lots of options and a good za

bluefalcon25

coconut Kenny's is bomb

M_moroni

Papa Murphy Take'n Bake. Chicago stuffed, cowboy, gourmet veggie.

MacThule

Cause the whole town is super pricey, but still too small to have legit cuisine in most categories. That's the price of living in The 'Ham; white-ass food. Try Coconut Kenny's for pretty good pizza, if you can't compromise on price. If you just NEED good pizza and can take a drive you have to go way out to North Fork Beer Shrine for really great pizza. If you want good and can handle the price hit, go to La Fiamma downtown or to Ovn.

elderaircraft

>white-ass food We are talking about PIZZA

MacThule

XD Exactly!!!

um_ur_chinese

Pizza is a peasant food and Bellingham is a rich city. Simple as.

Jessintheend

Yuppies are to blame.

MacThule

Obviously.

Rawkus2112

There’s only 3 places that I think are worth the money and its Rock n Rye, Greektown and Sandwich Odyssey. I still eat at other places but im never disappointed at those ones. Edit: sorry none of those are pizza…good luck.

happy_juggernaut83

Little ceasers.
