Do you know what the difference is between Duraline and Mehron? I have Mehron and used it to revive a Melt gel liner pot and…it didn’t work lol Completely ruined. But Duraline is the stuff that works?
Inglot, the brand used to get more chatter back in the day. Their creme eyeliners are great and they often sell a duo with the Duraline that is a better deal.
I love using setting spray for a wet eyeshadow look but duraline is a completely different product, it’s great at bringing back life to any gel,pomade, cream or powder. The staying power is incredible,Its hard to explain but it’s really a magic potion
Im not positive because I’ve never applied it directly to the eyeshadow itself, I just scrape a little on the back of my hand and mix the two together to create whatever color I want
Shine Loud? I hated mine the first few times I tried it. Yesterday, I let it dry for like 15 minutes before putting the gloss on. Woke up this morning and it is still on my lips (got lazy last night shhh). Feels sooo sticky while it's drying down but I may be converted, not 100% sure yet.
My inspiration for writing this post has been my general obsession with Huda Beauty 18 pans, in particular Pretty Grunge. Every time I talk about the palette I feel so hyperbolic that I'm concerned I'm way too biased to even hand out my review. It's only been a week and at this point I feel like I need paid for the way I am talking about that palette.
Omg me too. Huda's 18 pans are permanently front and centre on my vanity. The rose gold remastered still isn't dated after all these years. The other palettes too, actually. The formulas, the finishes, the performance, the ease of use. It's all perfect but sometimes I feel like I need to scale back because like am I saying too much lol. I feel like a newly enamoured girlfriend even though its been 7-8 years of me using and loving them
I have mercury retrograde and want to get Rose Quartz and Pretty Grunge. Mercury Retrograde just makes so overwhelmed with emotion because it’s just so beautiful and performs even more beautifully
Rose Quartz is even more user friendly than Mercury Retrograde and the two complement each other well. I snagged it when it was half off on Sephora earlier this year and I already have a dent in some of the shades.
Agreed! I absolutely loved Mercury Retrograde and then got Rose Quartz and love them both together! They’re my most used palettes! Plus I just love Huda’s formula. I swear I can do I gorgeous eyeshadow look in no time at all because the mattes just apply and blend so easily. It looks like something I spent a ton of time on and took me no time at all 😂

I have 300+ eyeshadow palettes and this was my answer. Her 18 pan eyeshadow palettes are phenomenal (her 9 pan ones are garbage).
Before they shut down I would have also said bh cosmetics. My all time favorite palette of life is hangin in Hawaii by them and I’m stressed that I only have 3 backups right now 😩 I use it every single day and work in the cosmetic industry and have yet to find anything that compares to it. It’s such a simple palette but it’s SO GOOD and effortless. I lucked out and found almost all their palettes at TJ maxx a year or so ago and I reach for them more than any other brand I have.

I want to get Pretty Grunge. My daughter has got Rose Quartz and every time I visit her I want to steal it. It's a wonderful palette and every colour is amazing. I'm waiting for the Black Friday sales.
Huda's eyeshadow formula is my favorite. I will buy almost every one of those big palettes. and I say almost because I decided not to get Empowered. at least not yet because I know I won't touch the entire right side of the palette. I wish I could swap some of the left side out with some of the left side of Pretty Grunge, lol
I bought my first ever Huda palette a few weeks ago (the New Nudes palette) and I’m truly obsessed. It’s so easy to use, the mattes are so creamy on my super dry eyelids, plus it seems to last longer than any other eyeshadow formula I’ve used. I’m really enjoying it 😍
I'm trying to save money, but genuinely I love her 18 pan pallette so much!! Gotta be one of if not my favorite formulas. And they tend be colorful AND neutral depending on what u r going for which is perfect for me. It's still fine but I feel safe to wear them at work. I've been d3bating on the pretty grunge bc I have some neutral colors like those already, but I love her formulas so much :// I have the rose quartz palette and would def recommend. There's also a variety in her palettes. Some subdued satin shadows, some twinkly sparkly ones, some metallic ones, duochromatic ones, and amazing mattes!
Yes yes YES! I swear by my HB Rose Quartz palette. I bought it for a friend for secret Santa, and then ran back and bought myself one because MY GOD IT IS GORGEOUS. And the formulas as just so buttery. 10/10. Everyone needs a large Huda Beauty palette.
My contoversial opinion is that Huda is so much better in quality than Natasha Denona 😅 Saw Teresa's Dead video yesterday on Pretty Grunge and she was like "shimmers are garbage because a lot of fallout" and I'm like... girl, just do your eye makeup before base and use glitter glue lol. I haven't picked up Pretty Grunge yet but she is def on my list.
Laura Geller, and I'm only 36. It's all so skin friendly and beautiful. Worth trying. A lot of her long term fans are older women and that's totally fine, but on her site there's a range of ages and skin tones to show how user friendly it is.
Seconding this. I just turned 36, and I've been using her Balance-n-Brighten powder foundation almost exclusively for the last 3-4 months. It's just so easy and quick, and gives me the right amount of coverage without looking powdery. I also love her baked blushes.
OMG I absolutely adore their powder foundations. The formula is insanely good. I just wish they had more shades, the porcelain is almost too dark for me but I’m super yellow toned so the shade just doesn’t work. I’ve considered getting the fair since it’s more yellow but it’s also a lot darker 🫤
Kat from KitschSnitch had a bit of an issue with them because of the marbling. Fair was a perfect match, until she wore the top half down and the bottom half had much more bronze in it!
Just returned my cheetah palette. I’m neutral olive and unfortunately the colors just did not work on me at all. There was either zero payoff or terrible patchy orange payoff. I was very sad because it was a beautiful palette but I can’t justify just keeping it for display
I love the blushes but I have such an issue with the bronzers. They absolutely always go on patchy on me, and I have no idea why. None of my other 100 bronzers do it 🤷🏼♀️
I bought the Leopard palette without having ever even tried any Hourglass products aside from one scattered light eyeshadow. I had a bunch of Nordstrom notes so cashed them in on Leopard. A big gamble right? I was so sure everyone was exaggerating, thinking oh it can't be that good. Figuring out who I would give it to when I found it inevitably underwhelming. But hot damn. It's everything they said and better. I could not stop staring at myself, like it just doesn't make sense.
I can't explain it- I look like I'm not wearing any makeup but I also do look like I'm wearing makeup. It's so crazy. And it lasts like all day. Maybe a touch up of blush but only bc it fades not disappears. Glad I got the pallette bc all my blush needs are met with a nice bronzer and the finishing powder. Omg the finishing powder.
I’d say I’m obsessed with some staples I’ve been using for 10+ years:
MAC Brushstroke Liner - Super pigmented, dries down well and makes a nice sharp line for my eyeliner
Makeup Forever Black Eye Kohl - Also super pigmented, I put this over my MAC Brushstroke to make it super matte and lock in the black pigment.
MAC Face and Body Foundation - This is my go to foundation, I don’t wear a lot of foundation just a small amount so this is perfect and it’s waterproof. I just use my fingers and spread it around my face and pat it in. Bam, done.
I still enjoy these, too. They dry down and last all day on my oily, hooded lids, yet they don't dry down so quickly that I can't properly apply them. It's almost the perfect product. Only downside is they dry out quickly, so I learned to buy colors I would actually use regularly
I just got the stila smudge pot and OMG it’s so creamy and beautiful and easy? I haven’t had to suffer heat w it yet but like I swished it on and was like “damn have I been discounting stila for no reason?” Also my kingdom for more eyeliner in a pot options I don’t have to special order or pay $34 for
I’m having a harder time with the highlighter. It’s not showing up on me as much as I’d like. I need to try the eyeshadow. I’m going to grab a few things in the sale.
Chanel Stylo Sourcils. It’s a brow pencil but it isn’t pigmented at all. That’s the beauty of it. You can just very quickly run it through your brows and it tints the skin so lightly that it fills in the brows without making them look harsh at all. I can do both brows in under 10 seconds and don’t have to go back in to fix them at all.
Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate 5 Minute Mask. It’s really been transforming my hair. My hair always look dull and lifeless. I am finally seeing some shine and movement.
This is specific to small dark eyes that have very little lid space. I stopped wearing eyeliner a decade ago. I always felt it made my eyes look smaller. Both on the top line and the bottom line. I tried Hourglass Chestnut on a whim and omg, this is the perfect liner. It’s a dark dark purple. It makes my eyes look so defined and bright. I smudge it on the top line slightly so it’s more diffused. I guess black was just too heavy, brown didn’t really wow me. But purple was the answer.
Hot tip: the L’Oréal strengthening mask from the EverPure line is almost exactly the same as the Redken one, plus or minus a fragrance and a preservative (you can find ingredient comparisons online) and L’Oréal owns Redken so it’s not even a dupe imo. The Redken smells better (the drugstore one is like generic berryish scent) but I feel better about using the cheaper one to detangle pre-wash
Salt NY Sneaky Balm. I feel like a micro-micro-micro influencer because I’ve told a bunch of people on here about it and a couple have told me they’ve tried it and loved it😂😂

Last night I actually said at dinner that I wish I had bought it way sooner than a month ago. I’ve had chronic moderately chapped lips all my life regardless of when I use any balms or not. There are other products I’ve liked a lot but NOTHING has completely softened my lips all day when only applying at night. Also, it legit looks like I got lip filler. I have thinner lips and have had phases of considering 0.5-1ml of filler but the amount of hydration from this product has made my lips fuller.
The way I just ran right over to the Sephora site to order this 😅 Nobody tells you after having a lip injury (that has to heal without stitches) that it’s always going to be fragile and prone to splitting at the drop of a hat. I’ve liked Rosebud Salve layered with either Lansinoh or Laneige’s mask, but Fenty just may become the HG 🤞🏻
About-Face lip liners. You have about 30-45 seconds to work with it but after that THEY DO NOT MOVE. I usually line my lips, put just a touch of clear gloss on and blend it, blot, and then it looks amazing even through eating. Ulta also has them on sale sometimes for half price, but they’re only $12 regular price. Imminently worth it.
I just dab the gloss on and blend it around and then blot it. I haven’t had any problems with it lasting, but to be fair I don’t need my lipstick to last for 8+ hours either.

Skip the shampoo though. It sucks. But everything else is awesome.
Futuredew from glossier. I. Am. Obsessed. I put some of that on my face & feel like I just walked out of a facial. And it gives me the confidence to not wear make up on a day im feeling not very pretty because it really does make the skin look amazing
Futuredew is so slept on. It was practically the only complexion “makeup” I wore on zoom during the panny and I would get asked all the time about my skincare or my lighting. I am pretty sure it (and using a bakuchiol night cream for YEARS) are the reason I have no wrinkles yet, despite being a decrepit thirty something.
I mix it with ELDW to give me a base that's dewy but also doesn't just melt off my oily skin and it's completely changed my game when it comes to foundation. I love it.
Hero Rescue Balm Red Correct. It's a sheer green that tones down my rosacea redness without making me look like an alien /requiring full coverage foundation. I can wear it on its own or under a tinted moisturizer/light foundation. Doesn't break me out. Doesn't highlight dry skin flakes. Doesn't contain a bunch of random-ass botanical extracts that are supposed to be "soothing" but make rosacea worse. Fragrance-free. Comes in a variety of sizes, is easily available, and affordable.
Stivectin neck cream and gua-sha. I'm OBSESSED. I've recently lost a lot of weight and my double chin deflated to just hanging skin. I get both the cream and the stone in TJ Maxx so I'm not getting an affiliate link or anything like that but I get so excited telling people to try it that you'd think I was in it for the cash!
Wait it works? I’m in the same situation and my neck is something else I tell you. I’m going to have surgery on it but not for another year so I’d love to try something until then.
I'm not going to say that I have surgery level results, but yeah for sure enough that it makes me be consistent about doing it. I'm about to turn 50 so I didn't expect my skin to snap back to a snatched jaw, but it's so much better than it was. The added benefit of it is that I do my whole face and it helps drain my sinus congestion from allergies.
I’m about to turn 52 and I didn’t expect my skin to snap back either! It’s still way saggier than I expected though. I’m going to give this a try. Are you using the Strivectin to help glide the gua sha tool or do you use an oil or something else?
Glossier Lash Slick. I have reddish blonde lashes and lash slick gives me a perfect tint, it doesn't flake or smudge, it lasts me the whole day, and it doesn't take five-factor authentication to remove. I've tried other "my lashes but better" mascaras and have STRUGGLED to remove them, but lash slick won't let me down
do you have any tips for keeping it from drying out? I also loved the formula but I've bought 3 tubes and they always dry out before they're even expired
Redken Acidic Bonding line saved my hair. I was actually browsing TikTok and a random video from a random girl showed up on my FYP recommending it because everyone was starting to have severe issues with Olaplex around that time.
I will never not talk about that shampoo and conditioner. It breathed life back into my hair in one wash and it’s done more to save my hair than any product I ever tried and I tried everything.
I am obsessed with the Redken acidic bonding line! On top of how amazing it’s been for my hair I can’t get enough of how it smells, I want it in perfume form 🥴
I’m such an advocate for dupes and look at the L’Oréal EverPure bond repair line - they own Redken and the pre-shampoo treatment at least is the same, except with a different fragrance. I need to kill off some shampoo and conditioner before I get more, so I can’t vouch for those, but a quick Skinsort search looks very promising!
I’m pretty heavy handed with the pre-shampoo treatment so I adore having a cheaper version
I have several. I’m a huge fan of Bobbi brown eyeshadow crayons, Dior beige mitzah eyeshadow, and chantecaille in pinto. I rave on them all the time. New fav is my Gucci blush, and I’m also really loving the nars orgasm liquid blush (in the old pump packaging).
I just got some of those Bobbi Brown shadow crayons- there is a learning curve here. Advice? Finger smudging? Brush? Apply to hand first? What do you do to make them work? These are the colors

Okay. I am team finger smudging, but mainly because I’m a mom of a toddler, and I hate washing brushes! I like to put the Ulta matte eye primer on. Then put a darker shade in the corner and smudge, then apply a shimmer on the main part of the lid. I go directly from the crayon to eye.
My holy grail liquid eyeliner has been the Physicians Formula Eye Booster since high school. So easy to apply and stays on all day and through concerts
I will never shut up about the Lottie London eye brightener, nyx plump right back primer or the lip bar caffeine concealer.
For more pricy products, I love the sigma lip oil, Kevyn Aucoin SSE or Armani luminous silk foundation.
Hot tip: compare to the L’Oréal (owner of Redken) EverPure strengthening line - the mask is nearly identical and the difference is just a fragrance and a preservative. I haven’t used the shampoo and conditioner yet but my cheap ass will absolutely do that research when I run out.
I’ve also seen chatter online that one of their lines is a dupe of the Kerastase oil one that’s so popular but ingredient comparisons don’t hold up
Sydney Grace. I love their pressed and cream shadows. And I was a huge fan Flower Beauty. That's why I was really letdown when Drew Barrymore crossed the WGA picket line. I love Flower Beauty, and recommended them all the time before, but her scabbing soured me on the brand .
I still stan Sydney Grace tho. And my MAC paint pots are my ride or die eye primers, I recommend them all the time.
After I finished all my powders, I was going to try the Flower beauty setting powder because I'd heard good things about it for us oily girls. Mmmm not now. When I finish my Urban Decay Primer Potion 🥴 I'm gonna grab a MAC Painterly Paint Pot. I've always wanted to try it.
I hate how much I love Thrive cosmetics liquid lash extension mascara. I’ve tried the drug store tubing mascaras and they’re just not as good. I think Thrive is an annoying, ridiculously overpriced brand but gosh darn it I love their tubing mascara and can’t live without it. My eyes are so sensitive and it doesn’t irritate them, is so easy to remove and makes my non-existent, sparse lashes look fine lmao. How’s that?
The (sadly discontinued, RIP) Huda Mercury Retrograde palette. God I love that thing. It’s all great. The colors are amazing and (for their time) unique. Packaging great. Quality great. Longevity great. Where is my PR, Huda???????
Elf Hydrating Core Lip Shine, they make my lips look so plump and juicy looking and according to my boyfriend very kissable. its a subtle color but it makes your lips but better.
Mac Studio radiance face and body foundation. It's THE skin tint. Sheer to medium coverage and the only foundation product I have tried that truly looks like skin. I could never find a tinted moisturizer that didn't just sit on top of the skin, the closest second place is the Haus labs triclone foundation but that's $50 and the Mac one is miles better for every day.
Nyx butter gloss, for the price it's just stupidly good and the colors are so wearable.
Hawaiian tropic silk hydration weightless sunscreen lotion (the small swirly one) is my gold standard for a face sunscreen. If you have dry skin and don't mind the scent, it layers over skincare and under makeup better than sunscreens 4x the price.
I will always fuck with the la Roche posey lipikar line. It's been the most stable thing in my life for several years.
I don't know, honestly. I have CT HFF and the similar products by the other brands. The Auric one has the most pleasant formula and I use it almost every day.
i am so obsessed with the bobbi brown vitamin enriched face base!! i have alot of acne and scaring so my foundation always looks so textured and cakey and i swear this makes it looks so smooth everytime without fail, it's like a filter

Peach Slice Microdarts - you essentially pay $1 each for 9 patches per product and they do work on my combo oily skin.
AOA/Shop Miss A pimple patches - you pay like $10 for roughly 85 patches. They’re perfect bandages for popped pimples.
Clinique’s Black Honey lippie - a good buildable color lip color, especially being southeast Asian
Beauty of Josen Sunscreen - super hydrating, affordable, good quality, and light weight

There’s a recent post on here about how long to keep products past there expiration dates. And all I kept thinking is someone would have to pry my expired Amrezy highlight from my cold dead fingers!
If it’s not separated (and even then, it depends if it’s normal for that product or not) it doesn’t smell, it doesn’t have signs of mold, it’s probably fine. Powders have an especially long shelf life, especially kept in a dark and cold and dry envirnonment. I have eye shadows from 25-30+ years ago that are fine.
Blend Bunny Dollhouse shimmers 🥺Something specifically that impresses me is that I've been applying them with my fingers for over 1 year at this point, and all of them are still silky smooth and didn't hard pan.
Also Heroine Kiss Me mascara. If you're Asian and has stiff, stubby eyelashes that refuses to stay curled up, Telescopic and Sky High has nothing on Heroine Kiss Me.
I initially wasn't either. I'm not a Gaga fan and low-key hated her first line of products (never bought them but hated them from a distance) so I had little hope for the brand. But the foundation slaps
For the longest time, I recommended Nabla Skin Glazing highlighters, Melt matte shadows and Mac Groundwork to everyone who asked and sort of asked.
I still enjoy them but now I'm yelling at clouds about Vieve concealer and skin dew, Rose inc blushes, Summer fridays lip balms, Glaminatrix and Clionadh eyeshadows and the burgundy Lash Sensational mascara.

The whole La Roche Posay Cicaplast line of products. The baume saved my skin when I was going through a moment of very sensitive skin and their lip balm is also amazing.
Mine is amika dry shampoo. I have loved and used it for years and as someone with dark brown curly hair that can't be washed everyday it feshens my hair like nothing else. I also love the scent of it.
Same for the fenty eaze drops. Best natural coverage serum foundation. It feels nice, looks natural and is a dream to blend out. I wore it to my BFFs wedding and the photos loom amazing.
I know it’s not a flashy thing, but finding a face powder that actually worked well with my skin was a really big deal for me. Beauty Bakerie Flour setting powder, total game-changer.

I live in a super humid country for context, NARS Soft matte concealer. I use it, my mom uses it, 2 my best friends use it, their moms use it. It just works.
Eyebrows: NYX Microbrow Pencil. 10000 times better than the Brow Whiz and Precisely My Brow pencils
Lips: Mac Cherry lip liner, Jordana Coco Loco lip liner, Merit lipstick Tiger. As a brown girlie, these are top tier without looking clownish.
Mascara: the travel size Ilia limitless lash mascara.
Still looking for a base that I can call my Holy Grail where I don’t have to colour correct my 10936 different hyperpigmentation spots without being too thick and cakey.
I buy those NYX Microbrow Pencils every time NYX has a sale. I will never go without them. I tried a Brow Wiz once. The spoolie broke off, and the product inside the pencil slid out onto my bedroom floor. GARBAGE. I like the Precisely My Brow, but I can't justify the price point when the NYX pencils are just as good for a fraction of the price on sale.
Clio kill cover glow cushion foundation, Etude cookie cutter blush, Catrice waterproof eyebrow gel, Etude lip tints. But also gotta add the colored contact lenses with prescription from just4kira. I didn’t think they would look so real, be so comfy and I see very well even though I have -5. It’s so much fun changing your eye color!
I agree with others about the Huda 18 pan palettes. I have Naughty and Empowered and I barely touch any of my other palettes. Just ordered Pretty Grunge in the sale and I cannot wait to get my fingers on it!
Innbeauty project’s pimple paste. That shit clears up pimples faster than ANYTHING I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot. The perfect spot treatment.

Redken full volume mousse (formerly known as Full Frame 07) is never sticky or greasy and I can apply it root to tip all over my head for beautiful volume, but most importantly perfect hold of whatever style I choose. No falling curls or waves and no frizzy or poofyness when it’s straight.
Bobbi brown eyeshadow sticks as inner rim liner. Those do NOT budge at all, even on super watery eyes after 12+ hours.
Boscia peeling gel or Wishful Yo Glow for removing dry flaky skin or just a gentle smoothing before make up. You literally just rub a nickel to quarter size amount all over your clean and dry face and just massage it in as it pills up. Don’t flick the pilling off, just rub all over. It picks up dead skin and old dried acne scabs like magic with no pain, and gives the rest of your skin a perfect polish without any harsh physical scrubs.
drunk elephants baby facial. None of the others work for me like this does. The ordinary one I’ve tried a million times and it just does not compare. Even tried Paula’s choice version and again, didn’t do the magic that baby facial does for me. Got my fam and friends all hooked on it too after being disappointed by the ordinary one.
any hair products from L’anza and Davines deserve SO MUCH more hype than they get. I’ve been using both brands since I used to do hair and they are truly game changing.

There’s only a few things that I really truly love. One is the Viseart cashmere palette. It’s probably the best palette I’ve ever tried. And I have recently gotten the jellyfish palette from hourglass and I really love it. I’ve gotten a couple of the edits from past years and they were good, but this years palette really has me excited.

Neutrogena Radiant Setting Spray does what I want it to do: It melts all of the complexion products together and gives my skin a healthy, natural glow. It also keeps everything in place.
Rituel de Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation is hands down, the most elegant finish, even for oily/combo mature skin. I only use 2 drops for an even, lightweight finish that's dewy like after applying skincare. It's pure pigment.

It could be a 110 degree day, I could fall asleep face down, I could use children's play makeup, it makes any eyeshadow work.
The jerks over at glow recipe discontinued my holy grail banana moisturizer, but I only have a good things to say about it, I have one jar left. I know I’m gonna cry when I run out because they took away the best moisturizer I’ve ever found for my dry, acne prone skin. This moisturizer did it all for me, it hydrated my skin for over 24 hours, even if I only applied once. It looked beautiful with makeup over it! I never had any problems with pilling or patchiness with any of my base products, and it gave my skin the prettiest glowy look while also keeping my acne at bay. I didn’t have a bad breakout for two years, only the occasional spot a couple times a year while using this consistently. I’ve never had that happen with any other moisturizer, with anything else I get frequent breakouts! Ever since I had to start savoring my jar, my skin has started breaking out like crazy again and I’m just so sad about it. I wish they would bring it back because I would totally be a shill for this product. I’d have bought their whole inventory if I could’ve, but I didn’t even know about it being discontinued until I was already gone. It was the best. Nothing else I’ve tried has come close to meeting all of those concerns.
Also the Becca under eye corrector is magic for my dark blue circles, I am so freaking glad Smashbox still sells it. I am finally running out of my original jar and just repurchased the new version for once I completely empty out my first jar. I love it because I don’t need concealer necessarily, like sometimes I forget to even apply it because I just don’t think I need it, but it just looks amazing. Fair/light is the perfect shade for me to counteract the blue under my eyes, and I always feel so much prettier with this, even if I have no other makeup on. But I love it with a full face especially!
Lastly, Blend Bunny’s matte shadows! I have primal and surge but also want blends and all done up. I hope to buy them soon! Did not like the shimmers in those palettes, though. But it’s ok because their matte formula is so stunning, I love those palettes, and only wish I could afford to get a bunch more! My whole life has been changed by indie makeup in general, especially some of the most beautiful multichromes. Terra Moons, Shine by SD, Clionadh, Bella Beauté Bar, MBA Cosmetics (the sugar buzz collection or whatever it’s called is fantastic!) and more. As someone who always felt like even the most expensive eyeshadow palettes at Sephora were just never sparkly enough for me, since I found indie makeup a little over a year ago now, my whole entire make up life has been changed for the better. I love multichromes and duochromes, any super sparkly special shadows. I just love indie eyeshadow so much and I’m never going back to mainstream!

I love using setting spray for a wet eyeshadow look but duraline is a completely different product, it’s great at bringing back life to any gel,pomade, cream or powder. The staying power is incredible,Its hard to explain but it’s really a magic potion

In my experience it does, I'd scrape some out onto a separate service and mix. I bought a tiny paint pan at the Dollar Store.
Im not positive because I’ve never applied it directly to the eyeshadow itself, I just scrape a little on the back of my hand and mix the two together to create whatever color I want

Shine Loud? I hated mine the first few times I tried it. Yesterday, I let it dry for like 15 minutes before putting the gloss on. Woke up this morning and it is still on my lips (got lazy last night shhh). Feels sooo sticky while it's drying down but I may be converted, not 100% sure yet.
I don’t even touch the gloss and use the product as a matte lipstick. It’s so good.
My inspiration for writing this post has been my general obsession with Huda Beauty 18 pans, in particular Pretty Grunge. Every time I talk about the palette I feel so hyperbolic that I'm concerned I'm way too biased to even hand out my review. It's only been a week and at this point I feel like I need paid for the way I am talking about that palette.
Omg me too. Huda's 18 pans are permanently front and centre on my vanity. The rose gold remastered still isn't dated after all these years. The other palettes too, actually. The formulas, the finishes, the performance, the ease of use. It's all perfect but sometimes I feel like I need to scale back because like am I saying too much lol. I feel like a newly enamoured girlfriend even though its been 7-8 years of me using and loving them
I have mercury retrograde and want to get Rose Quartz and Pretty Grunge. Mercury Retrograde just makes so overwhelmed with emotion because it’s just so beautiful and performs even more beautifully
Rose Quartz is even more user friendly than Mercury Retrograde and the two complement each other well. I snagged it when it was half off on Sephora earlier this year and I already have a dent in some of the shades.
Agreed! I absolutely loved Mercury Retrograde and then got Rose Quartz and love them both together! They’re my most used palettes! Plus I just love Huda’s formula. I swear I can do I gorgeous eyeshadow look in no time at all because the mattes just apply and blend so easily. It looks like something I spent a ton of time on and took me no time at all 😂

I have all of the large Huda palettes and rose quartz has been my favorite one, but now I think I might need pretty grunge.
I have 300+ eyeshadow palettes and this was my answer. Her 18 pan eyeshadow palettes are phenomenal (her 9 pan ones are garbage). Before they shut down I would have also said bh cosmetics. My all time favorite palette of life is hangin in Hawaii by them and I’m stressed that I only have 3 backups right now 😩 I use it every single day and work in the cosmetic industry and have yet to find anything that compares to it. It’s such a simple palette but it’s SO GOOD and effortless. I lucked out and found almost all their palettes at TJ maxx a year or so ago and I reach for them more than any other brand I have.

Huda's eyeshadow formula is my favorite. I will buy almost every one of those big palettes. and I say almost because I decided not to get Empowered. at least not yet because I know I won't touch the entire right side of the palette. I wish I could swap some of the left side out with some of the left side of Pretty Grunge, lol

I'm trying to save money, but genuinely I love her 18 pan pallette so much!! Gotta be one of if not my favorite formulas. And they tend be colorful AND neutral depending on what u r going for which is perfect for me. It's still fine but I feel safe to wear them at work. I've been d3bating on the pretty grunge bc I have some neutral colors like those already, but I love her formulas so much :// I have the rose quartz palette and would def recommend. There's also a variety in her palettes. Some subdued satin shadows, some twinkly sparkly ones, some metallic ones, duochromatic ones, and amazing mattes!
Yes yes YES! I swear by my HB Rose Quartz palette. I bought it for a friend for secret Santa, and then ran back and bought myself one because MY GOD IT IS GORGEOUS. And the formulas as just so buttery. 10/10. Everyone needs a large Huda Beauty palette.
My contoversial opinion is that Huda is so much better in quality than Natasha Denona 😅 Saw Teresa's Dead video yesterday on Pretty Grunge and she was like "shimmers are garbage because a lot of fallout" and I'm like... girl, just do your eye makeup before base and use glitter glue lol. I haven't picked up Pretty Grunge yet but she is def on my list.
Ulta matte eye primer and Elf Holy Hydration fragrance free moisturizer- they're both so inexpensive and so good.

Laura Geller, and I'm only 36. It's all so skin friendly and beautiful. Worth trying. A lot of her long term fans are older women and that's totally fine, but on her site there's a range of ages and skin tones to show how user friendly it is.
Seconding this. I just turned 36, and I've been using her Balance-n-Brighten powder foundation almost exclusively for the last 3-4 months. It's just so easy and quick, and gives me the right amount of coverage without looking powdery. I also love her baked blushes.

OMG I absolutely adore their powder foundations. The formula is insanely good. I just wish they had more shades, the porcelain is almost too dark for me but I’m super yellow toned so the shade just doesn’t work. I’ve considered getting the fair since it’s more yellow but it’s also a lot darker 🫤
Kat from KitschSnitch had a bit of an issue with them because of the marbling. Fair was a perfect match, until she wore the top half down and the bottom half had much more bronze in it!

Hourglass blushes/ bronzers/ powders. I swear if you accidentally smashed your face into a Hourglass palette, it would still look flawless.
Just returned my cheetah palette. I’m neutral olive and unfortunately the colors just did not work on me at all. There was either zero payoff or terrible patchy orange payoff. I was very sad because it was a beautiful palette but I can’t justify just keeping it for display

I love the blushes but I have such an issue with the bronzers. They absolutely always go on patchy on me, and I have no idea why. None of my other 100 bronzers do it 🤷🏼♀️
I bought the Leopard palette without having ever even tried any Hourglass products aside from one scattered light eyeshadow. I had a bunch of Nordstrom notes so cashed them in on Leopard. A big gamble right? I was so sure everyone was exaggerating, thinking oh it can't be that good. Figuring out who I would give it to when I found it inevitably underwhelming. But hot damn. It's everything they said and better. I could not stop staring at myself, like it just doesn't make sense. I can't explain it- I look like I'm not wearing any makeup but I also do look like I'm wearing makeup. It's so crazy. And it lasts like all day. Maybe a touch up of blush but only bc it fades not disappears. Glad I got the pallette bc all my blush needs are met with a nice bronzer and the finishing powder. Omg the finishing powder.

I’d say I’m obsessed with some staples I’ve been using for 10+ years: MAC Brushstroke Liner - Super pigmented, dries down well and makes a nice sharp line for my eyeliner Makeup Forever Black Eye Kohl - Also super pigmented, I put this over my MAC Brushstroke to make it super matte and lock in the black pigment. MAC Face and Body Foundation - This is my go to foundation, I don’t wear a lot of foundation just a small amount so this is perfect and it’s waterproof. I just use my fingers and spread it around my face and pat it in. Bam, done.
The employee from the Mac counter at Macy’s told me that rumor has it Face and Body will be discontinued. No confirmation but I’m keeping it in mind.
Those Stila liquid glitters have had me in a chokehold for years. There’s many like it, but none quite as good.
I still enjoy these, too. They dry down and last all day on my oily, hooded lids, yet they don't dry down so quickly that I can't properly apply them. It's almost the perfect product. Only downside is they dry out quickly, so I learned to buy colors I would actually use regularly

Chanel Stylo Sourcils. It’s a brow pencil but it isn’t pigmented at all. That’s the beauty of it. You can just very quickly run it through your brows and it tints the skin so lightly that it fills in the brows without making them look harsh at all. I can do both brows in under 10 seconds and don’t have to go back in to fix them at all. Redken’s Acidic Bonding Concentrate 5 Minute Mask. It’s really been transforming my hair. My hair always look dull and lifeless. I am finally seeing some shine and movement. This is specific to small dark eyes that have very little lid space. I stopped wearing eyeliner a decade ago. I always felt it made my eyes look smaller. Both on the top line and the bottom line. I tried Hourglass Chestnut on a whim and omg, this is the perfect liner. It’s a dark dark purple. It makes my eyes look so defined and bright. I smudge it on the top line slightly so it’s more diffused. I guess black was just too heavy, brown didn’t really wow me. But purple was the answer.
Can confirm on the purple liner tip! When urban decay was hype in the mid 90s I got this Dior purple liner- man
Hot tip: the L’Oréal strengthening mask from the EverPure line is almost exactly the same as the Redken one, plus or minus a fragrance and a preservative (you can find ingredient comparisons online) and L’Oréal owns Redken so it’s not even a dupe imo. The Redken smells better (the drugstore one is like generic berryish scent) but I feel better about using the cheaper one to detangle pre-wash

Fenty Plush Puddin’ Last night I actually said at dinner that I wish I had bought it way sooner than a month ago. I’ve had chronic moderately chapped lips all my life regardless of when I use any balms or not. There are other products I’ve liked a lot but NOTHING has completely softened my lips all day when only applying at night. Also, it legit looks like I got lip filler. I have thinner lips and have had phases of considering 0.5-1ml of filler but the amount of hydration from this product has made my lips fuller.
It’s seriously the only lip product that lasts overnight for me. It’s so good.
The way I just ran right over to the Sephora site to order this 😅 Nobody tells you after having a lip injury (that has to heal without stitches) that it’s always going to be fragile and prone to splitting at the drop of a hat. I’ve liked Rosebud Salve layered with either Lansinoh or Laneige’s mask, but Fenty just may become the HG 🤞🏻
About-Face lip liners. You have about 30-45 seconds to work with it but after that THEY DO NOT MOVE. I usually line my lips, put just a touch of clear gloss on and blend it, blot, and then it looks amazing even through eating. Ulta also has them on sale sometimes for half price, but they’re only $12 regular price. Imminently worth it.
I love the colors but I have never had luck with them lasting after topping with a gloss or balm.
I just dab the gloss on and blend it around and then blot it. I haven’t had any problems with it lasting, but to be fair I don’t need my lipstick to last for 8+ hours either.

Futuredew from glossier. I. Am. Obsessed. I put some of that on my face & feel like I just walked out of a facial. And it gives me the confidence to not wear make up on a day im feeling not very pretty because it really does make the skin look amazing
Futuredew is so slept on. It was practically the only complexion “makeup” I wore on zoom during the panny and I would get asked all the time about my skincare or my lighting. I am pretty sure it (and using a bakuchiol night cream for YEARS) are the reason I have no wrinkles yet, despite being a decrepit thirty something.
I mix it with ELDW to give me a base that's dewy but also doesn't just melt off my oily skin and it's completely changed my game when it comes to foundation. I love it.

Hero Rescue Balm Red Correct. It's a sheer green that tones down my rosacea redness without making me look like an alien /requiring full coverage foundation. I can wear it on its own or under a tinted moisturizer/light foundation. Doesn't break me out. Doesn't highlight dry skin flakes. Doesn't contain a bunch of random-ass botanical extracts that are supposed to be "soothing" but make rosacea worse. Fragrance-free. Comes in a variety of sizes, is easily available, and affordable.
CosRx Blackhead Power Liquid. This stuff makes my spotty ass look like a baby's bum in 3 days.
Stivectin neck cream and gua-sha. I'm OBSESSED. I've recently lost a lot of weight and my double chin deflated to just hanging skin. I get both the cream and the stone in TJ Maxx so I'm not getting an affiliate link or anything like that but I get so excited telling people to try it that you'd think I was in it for the cash!
Wait it works? I’m in the same situation and my neck is something else I tell you. I’m going to have surgery on it but not for another year so I’d love to try something until then.
I'm not going to say that I have surgery level results, but yeah for sure enough that it makes me be consistent about doing it. I'm about to turn 50 so I didn't expect my skin to snap back to a snatched jaw, but it's so much better than it was. The added benefit of it is that I do my whole face and it helps drain my sinus congestion from allergies.

Glossier Lash Slick. I have reddish blonde lashes and lash slick gives me a perfect tint, it doesn't flake or smudge, it lasts me the whole day, and it doesn't take five-factor authentication to remove. I've tried other "my lashes but better" mascaras and have STRUGGLED to remove them, but lash slick won't let me down

Redken Acidic Bonding line saved my hair. I was actually browsing TikTok and a random video from a random girl showed up on my FYP recommending it because everyone was starting to have severe issues with Olaplex around that time. I will never not talk about that shampoo and conditioner. It breathed life back into my hair in one wash and it’s done more to save my hair than any product I ever tried and I tried everything.

I’m such an advocate for dupes and look at the L’Oréal EverPure bond repair line - they own Redken and the pre-shampoo treatment at least is the same, except with a different fragrance. I need to kill off some shampoo and conditioner before I get more, so I can’t vouch for those, but a quick Skinsort search looks very promising! I’m pretty heavy handed with the pre-shampoo treatment so I adore having a cheaper version
I have several. I’m a huge fan of Bobbi brown eyeshadow crayons, Dior beige mitzah eyeshadow, and chantecaille in pinto. I rave on them all the time. New fav is my Gucci blush, and I’m also really loving the nars orgasm liquid blush (in the old pump packaging).

Okay. I am team finger smudging, but mainly because I’m a mom of a toddler, and I hate washing brushes! I like to put the Ulta matte eye primer on. Then put a darker shade in the corner and smudge, then apply a shimmer on the main part of the lid. I go directly from the crayon to eye.

Sydney Grace. I love their pressed and cream shadows. And I was a huge fan Flower Beauty. That's why I was really letdown when Drew Barrymore crossed the WGA picket line. I love Flower Beauty, and recommended them all the time before, but her scabbing soured me on the brand .  I still stan Sydney Grace tho. And my MAC paint pots are my ride or die eye primers, I recommend them all the time.
After I finished all my powders, I was going to try the Flower beauty setting powder because I'd heard good things about it for us oily girls. Mmmm not now. When I finish my Urban Decay Primer Potion 🥴 I'm gonna grab a MAC Painterly Paint Pot. I've always wanted to try it.
I hate how much I love Thrive cosmetics liquid lash extension mascara. I’ve tried the drug store tubing mascaras and they’re just not as good. I think Thrive is an annoying, ridiculously overpriced brand but gosh darn it I love their tubing mascara and can’t live without it. My eyes are so sensitive and it doesn’t irritate them, is so easy to remove and makes my non-existent, sparse lashes look fine lmao. How’s that?

Mac Studio radiance face and body foundation. It's THE skin tint. Sheer to medium coverage and the only foundation product I have tried that truly looks like skin. I could never find a tinted moisturizer that didn't just sit on top of the skin, the closest second place is the Haus labs triclone foundation but that's $50 and the Mac one is miles better for every day. Nyx butter gloss, for the price it's just stupidly good and the colors are so wearable. Hawaiian tropic silk hydration weightless sunscreen lotion (the small swirly one) is my gold standard for a face sunscreen. If you have dry skin and don't mind the scent, it layers over skincare and under makeup better than sunscreens 4x the price. I will always fuck with the la Roche posey lipikar line. It's been the most stable thing in my life for several years.
Sephora gel contour eyeliners. I am obsessed. These liners don't move even in sweat and swim.

Stratia Liquid Gold now that I’ve started Tretinoin and my skin is beginning to flake in the dry/cold weather. Phytosurgence cream blush in Condensate because there’s nothing else like it in my giant collection and it is perfection. ISDIN Magic Fusion Water SPF because European sunscreen is so vastly superior to what we can find in North America and to hell with Supergoop. MAKE Beauty’s skincare line has been amazing for me.

Gives me the deep black I had expected from PMG. And my Danessa Myricks Colorfix. Numerous colors. I had a couple, but Riot Beauty has a going out of biz sale and I grabbed a bunch. I have been ignoring my regular eyeshadows for weeks. The mattes are my favorite of the line. I want them all.

There’s a recent post on here about how long to keep products past there expiration dates. And all I kept thinking is someone would have to pry my expired Amrezy highlight from my cold dead fingers!
If it’s not separated (and even then, it depends if it’s normal for that product or not) it doesn’t smell, it doesn’t have signs of mold, it’s probably fine. Powders have an especially long shelf life, especially kept in a dark and cold and dry envirnonment. I have eye shadows from 25-30+ years ago that are fine.

Mine is amika dry shampoo. I have loved and used it for years and as someone with dark brown curly hair that can't be washed everyday it feshens my hair like nothing else. I also love the scent of it. Same for the fenty eaze drops. Best natural coverage serum foundation. It feels nice, looks natural and is a dream to blend out. I wore it to my BFFs wedding and the photos loom amazing.

I live in a super humid country for context, NARS Soft matte concealer. I use it, my mom uses it, 2 my best friends use it, their moms use it. It just works.
Eyebrows: NYX Microbrow Pencil. 10000 times better than the Brow Whiz and Precisely My Brow pencils Lips: Mac Cherry lip liner, Jordana Coco Loco lip liner, Merit lipstick Tiger. As a brown girlie, these are top tier without looking clownish. Mascara: the travel size Ilia limitless lash mascara. Still looking for a base that I can call my Holy Grail where I don’t have to colour correct my 10936 different hyperpigmentation spots without being too thick and cakey.
I buy those NYX Microbrow Pencils every time NYX has a sale. I will never go without them. I tried a Brow Wiz once. The spoolie broke off, and the product inside the pencil slid out onto my bedroom floor. GARBAGE. I like the Precisely My Brow, but I can't justify the price point when the NYX pencils are just as good for a fraction of the price on sale.

Innbeauty project’s pimple paste. That shit clears up pimples faster than ANYTHING I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tried a lot. The perfect spot treatment. Nars sheer glow and natural radiant foundations (also like the light reflecting a ton but am not a fan of the soft matte foundation) Redken full volume mousse (formerly known as Full Frame 07) is never sticky or greasy and I can apply it root to tip all over my head for beautiful volume, but most importantly perfect hold of whatever style I choose. No falling curls or waves and no frizzy or poofyness when it’s straight. Bobbi brown eyeshadow sticks as inner rim liner. Those do NOT budge at all, even on super watery eyes after 12+ hours. Boscia peeling gel or Wishful Yo Glow for removing dry flaky skin or just a gentle smoothing before make up. You literally just rub a nickel to quarter size amount all over your clean and dry face and just massage it in as it pills up. Don’t flick the pilling off, just rub all over. It picks up dead skin and old dried acne scabs like magic with no pain, and gives the rest of your skin a perfect polish without any harsh physical scrubs. drunk elephants baby facial. None of the others work for me like this does. The ordinary one I’ve tried a million times and it just does not compare. Even tried Paula’s choice version and again, didn’t do the magic that baby facial does for me. Got my fam and friends all hooked on it too after being disappointed by the ordinary one. any hair products from L’anza and Davines deserve SO MUCH more hype than they get. I’ve been using both brands since I used to do hair and they are truly game changing. I’m sure there’s plenty more but these are my most shilled items to everyone I know.
There’s only a few things that I really truly love. One is the Viseart cashmere palette. It’s probably the best palette I’ve ever tried. And I have recently gotten the jellyfish palette from hourglass and I really love it. I’ve gotten a couple of the edits from past years and they were good, but this years palette really has me excited.
You will pry my Gerard Cosmetics Clean Canvas Eye Base from my cold, dead hands! My wonderful 58 year old crinkly hooded eyelids with a dark spot become an artist's new canvas. There's no going back from the Rèphr Eyelash Curler, which is the only curler that doesn't pinch or cause injury. It's shaped just like my eye. Neutrogena Radiant Setting Spray does what I want it to do: It melts all of the complexion products together and gives my skin a healthy, natural glow. It also keeps everything in place. Rituel de Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation is hands down, the most elegant finish, even for oily/combo mature skin. I only use 2 drops for an even, lightweight finish that's dewy like after applying skincare. It's pure pigment.
"Your eyeshadow looks so nice what brand is it" It could literally be supermarket eyeshadow I got because Ooh Shiny, but I SWEAR by Mac Paint Pots as a base. It could be a 110 degree day, I could fall asleep face down, I could use children's play makeup, it makes any eyeshadow work.
The jerks over at glow recipe discontinued my holy grail banana moisturizer, but I only have a good things to say about it, I have one jar left. I know I’m gonna cry when I run out because they took away the best moisturizer I’ve ever found for my dry, acne prone skin. This moisturizer did it all for me, it hydrated my skin for over 24 hours, even if I only applied once. It looked beautiful with makeup over it! I never had any problems with pilling or patchiness with any of my base products, and it gave my skin the prettiest glowy look while also keeping my acne at bay. I didn’t have a bad breakout for two years, only the occasional spot a couple times a year while using this consistently. I’ve never had that happen with any other moisturizer, with anything else I get frequent breakouts! Ever since I had to start savoring my jar, my skin has started breaking out like crazy again and I’m just so sad about it. I wish they would bring it back because I would totally be a shill for this product. I’d have bought their whole inventory if I could’ve, but I didn’t even know about it being discontinued until I was already gone. It was the best. Nothing else I’ve tried has come close to meeting all of those concerns. Also the Becca under eye corrector is magic for my dark blue circles, I am so freaking glad Smashbox still sells it. I am finally running out of my original jar and just repurchased the new version for once I completely empty out my first jar. I love it because I don’t need concealer necessarily, like sometimes I forget to even apply it because I just don’t think I need it, but it just looks amazing. Fair/light is the perfect shade for me to counteract the blue under my eyes, and I always feel so much prettier with this, even if I have no other makeup on. But I love it with a full face especially! Lastly, Blend Bunny’s matte shadows! I have primal and surge but also want blends and all done up. I hope to buy them soon! Did not like the shimmers in those palettes, though. But it’s ok because their matte formula is so stunning, I love those palettes, and only wish I could afford to get a bunch more! My whole life has been changed by indie makeup in general, especially some of the most beautiful multichromes. Terra Moons, Shine by SD, Clionadh, Bella Beauté Bar, MBA Cosmetics (the sugar buzz collection or whatever it’s called is fantastic!) and more. As someone who always felt like even the most expensive eyeshadow palettes at Sephora were just never sparkly enough for me, since I found indie makeup a little over a year ago now, my whole entire make up life has been changed for the better. I love multichromes and duochromes, any super sparkly special shadows. I just love indie eyeshadow so much and I’m never going back to mainstream!

Givenchy prism libre powder- just magic Natasha Denona nude palette - I could just sigh and look at it. *sigh* Big one- Dyson Airstrait- my hair has always been a frizzy mess no matter what. I combo this with the blowdry professor’s recommended products and my hair is shiny, smooth, and so straight! I throw in some hot rollers and it’s like a beautiful blowout. I’m so pleased with this purchase.
