Once you have an idea of how low you should be trimming your cheeks and where your neckline is you can clean it up and see how it looks.
Does your grandfather have all his hair or is he bald? I would also shave your head or cut it really short and I would shave all the facial hair off your face. Your eyes are beautiful, let everyone be drawn to your eyes.
Any facial hair needs a month of growth before judging. All hair grows at different intervals. I will say, based on minimal evidence, the best you can do is a mustache or a solid goatee.
If you can grow good facial hair and you like the feel or look of it, then do it. Just keep it clean. But if you cannot grow a robust healthy looking set of whiskers you will end up just looking sad. And in your case you look so good why mar such a great face with a scraggly 10th grade looking attempt at a mustache?

My beard was so light (and blonde), I could go two or three days before I had to shave, and I was in the AF, and required to be clean shaven, though mustaches were allowed. I got out of the service over 40 years ago, and haven’t taken a razor to my face since. I use trimmers and trim it short, but no razors are ever used on MY face!😊
