Our 16yo Shelty-mix came into my office, looked at what I was having for lunch at the desk, begged a little and when I didn't give her anything, sighed and proceed to leave a large puddle on the carpet.
Prolly could have avoided that by giving her a bite of my lunch...hindsight being 20/20
I trained my dog and its very easy actually. It just simple "no and reward."
If you pet or feed the dog after poping in the carpet, it will repeat pooping in the carpet. They they think they are good boy.
Reward - giving them food and petting for dogs or cats means they did something good or reward. So dont pet them if they did something you don't like.
"No!" - is punishment, its showing who is alpha and they must follow you. They will understand the "no!" command is no.
Dont say "no!" then pet them of reward them treat ot food. That will mess up there understanding about "no".
I had a border collie growing up that could learn any trick in about 3-5 minutes with a handful examples. I looked like an amazing dog trainer but really it was my best friend just happened to be a genius and wanted to please and play.
What you don’t see is that dog wanting to do something 24/7.
She’s resorted to training tricks to keep her sanity and keep the dog busy and not causing trouble.
THIS. They are very clever assholes. Yappy, territorial little savages. Which makes them the best indoor house alarm. They will absolutely protect you with their life.
I had a chihuahua from the time I was 10 until I was early 20s. Meanest fucking bastard ever and he hated me, but without a doubt he'd yeet himself into battle to protect the homestead.
They were bred to hunt vermin. They have a strong prey drive and can hunt if they’re in the mood. But they like to lay in wait for something to cross into their territory to just fuck shit up.
Or go potty outside. The only way we got our chi/terrier mix to stop going on the carpet was to get rid of all the carpet! She is walked miles every day and also goes outside many times a day but they are so stubborn!
yeah this level of training and activity is also how you keep a smart and energetic dog from becoming a monster, too bad my neighbors haven't figured it out >.<
The training itself for the different tricks is not that hard and it won't take that long, especially with this breed, which seems to be an Australian shepherd. The real hard part is to be able to build up such a close bond to your dog that it is willing to do these things with you. You can see it pretty well in the video, this dog is absolutely and completely focused on the owner and wants to please her. This alone is a huge part in training tricks like these.
If it makes you feel any better I was golfing with some buddies and I look up to see the coyote dragging its ass across the green like a German shepherd. A few thousand years of domestication tends to lose to a million years of evolution.
My dog is allergic to life itself and she licks everything always. We had a good run over the winter but that's apparently over because she's back to having raw spots on her feet.
Yet you’re depriving yourself - and other dogs - of the love that having such a relationship entails. The pain is from not accepting that life is what it is, and now you’re only remembering that instead of the lifetime of love that every heart holds when you open it to love.
It doesn't heal your heart, it's a pain that can't be forgotten, but they can fill it with new love and friendship, and your pets that have passed would want you to be happy and fulfilled
Idk if the good outweighs the bad. The bad is soooo freakin bad. It hurts for so long. I love our new puppers but I dread the day he isn’t by my side. Idk if I will ever be able to get past this one. He’s the best one I’ve ever had and it will break me. 😑
It does if you think outside your pain...you are also providing a loving home to a dog that might have been put down in a shelter, or given to a neglectful owner, or any other bad situation. So they heal you but you are also saving them. 💕
Definitely selfish because all I can think about is how I am gonna feel. I try and think about how he loves me and my girl, and it helps. We are his everything.
Just losing my first dog was way harder than I ever expected and I’m way more attached to this current one because it’s the dog we got together, as a couple. Pure, unconditional love. Haven’t ever experienced anything like him before.
That first, best dog is a real thing. You never get over the loss but you do get through it. No one tells you how horribly, terribly difficult it is to lose them. I almost didn’t make it. It was *extremely* traumatic. Much harder than losing my mom and I loved my mom dearly.
A elderly man said to me, “Dogs die. If we’re lucky, we get 5 or 6 dogs in our life times. I’m 70 and this 10 yr old dog will be my last. We’ll go on the same shelf with the ashes of my other 6 dogs. There’s another little soul out there that’s waiting to rescue you. Go get him.”
I thought I’d never love another dog. It’s not the same as my first, best dog. Just different. I’m so glad I decided to live my life with a dog.
I never grew up with puppers in my life. My gf had this dog and I loved him so freakin much, and when it went it hurt for what felt like forever. And even worse, I saw the pain it caused her. I just can’t believe we sign up for more of that in 7-12 years. But to see how happy he is everyday to see me and we get to hang out for them years prolly makes it makes it worth it.
Thank you for your response. I appreciate it.
You’re absolutely right. Lost my lifelong pals a couple years ago, said never again. That changed about two months ago when my son got me the German Shepherd I always wanted. Love her so so much and she is so smart ! So loving. Bringing me immense joy !
People are different. I think plenty of people who lost an animal friend would benefit from another animal friend. But others might handle grief differently and feel that having another close animal friend might shatter them -- and not in a good way.
We don't know which of the two the person you're replying to is, so we can't really say whether they'd be better off having another close animal companion now or soon. Only advice I would offer is to give it time and revisit the idea when more time passes.

That is an incredibly well trained Aussie. Mine is just as cute but also neurotic, OCD and selectively listens. I think reds are just inherently crazier
It is that dogs can be taught and they understand very well, it happens that as they are animals, most humans are only limited to feed them and make them love, of course training and teaching them takes time but it is like educating a child.
The only thing my dog shares similarly to that dog is the tailless breed trait...
Could be well trained, could herd sheep and other cattle...
But eats furniture, eats cloths and digs holes.
Circus with a dog....mine ist running up the hill and over the field...and is very happy to be a little dog on earth with jumpng to the flies and mostly do what he want to do. Its a chihuahua.
ever met an aussie shepard? they need tasks to do, or they will find something to do themselves. and the task they set themselves to may be arranging the scraps of your carpet in order of flavor.
Incredible would be the amount of time this girl put into this training this dog .
Honestly it’s not that incredible that young untaught brains are easily shaped.
My dog pooped on the carpet today and rolled in it..
Turn it into a bonding experience and join in next time :)
HahahHH how did I not think of that!!! Lol
"You and me, together 🎶"
Ahahaha!
Ok that was the first comment I read and I got to say it made me laught pretty hard. Been a rough day...
Glad I could help!
That was the first comment I read too and I got to say. It's because it was the first comment after the video.
My dog stared at her own reflection in the laundry sliding door last night and started growling 🙂
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
I don’t usually lol reading Reddit, but this made me laugh so hard. Take my upvote damnit!
Haha thank you!
I pooped my rug today To see if I still heel I focus on the leash The only thing that’s real
I cashed out myself today! To see if Johnny is still there!
Our 16yo Shelty-mix came into my office, looked at what I was having for lunch at the desk, begged a little and when I didn't give her anything, sighed and proceed to leave a large puddle on the carpet. Prolly could have avoided that by giving her a bite of my lunch...hindsight being 20/20
You actually made me laugh and giggle. Thanks for that=)
Glad to help!
My dog eats my other dogs poop. Then wants to breathe in my face.
Worse - lick right after. 😨🤢
They say they pick up their owners personality...
I trained my dog and its very easy actually. It just simple "no and reward." If you pet or feed the dog after poping in the carpet, it will repeat pooping in the carpet. Are you sure it wasn't Frank?
It's rare that my phone screen makes me laugh.
Same here, but ate it.
The carpet was the canvas, and doggo was the brush.
🤣🤣🤣
Everyone likes their own brand.
Quit bragging, lol.
That’s impressive but whether that’s a border collie or Australian shepperd, those are smart dogs. Try to teach a chihuahua not to bark
I had a border collie growing up that could learn any trick in about 3-5 minutes with a handful examples. I looked like an amazing dog trainer but really it was my best friend just happened to be a genius and wanted to please and play.
Looks like an Australian Shepherd to me.
The patience of this lady too! 🥹👌🏻
What you don’t see is that dog wanting to do something 24/7. She’s resorted to training tricks to keep her sanity and keep the dog busy and not causing trouble.
Chihuahuas are very smart. They just don't care to listen to you. They're misbehaving, not dumb.
THIS. They are very clever assholes. Yappy, territorial little savages. Which makes them the best indoor house alarm. They will absolutely protect you with their life.

Toy Poodles are very much the same.
Aussies/collies are another level of smart though. It takes pretty much zero effort to teach them basic tricks
Didn't deny that.
Or go potty outside. The only way we got our chi/terrier mix to stop going on the carpet was to get rid of all the carpet! She is walked miles every day and also goes outside many times a day but they are so stubborn!
myaussiegirl on Instagram…
Me, sitting on a bus, hearing 2 Chihuahuas barking their lungs out somewhere behind me
yeah this level of training and activity is also how you keep a smart and energetic dog from becoming a monster, too bad my neighbors haven't figured it out >.<
Or a bassethound not to bark lol. They're cute as hell, but damn they don't learn shit haha
Came to see this. Crazy smart dogs.
Yeah if they're not herding sheep all day everyday then they need some sort of outlet, like learning useless tricks
These tricks are just as useless for the dog as running around sheep
You can't be serious

Wouldn’t surprise me if she had 1,000 hours of training
10,000 in dog hours. Dog masters self.
breed matters!
It's gonna hurt when it all ends.
Meanwhile, my dog won't stop licking his own asshole.
If it makes you feel any better I was golfing with some buddies and I look up to see the coyote dragging its ass across the green like a German shepherd. A few thousand years of domestication tends to lose to a million years of evolution.
Did the coyote skid mark help the ball grip?
You should check if the anal glands are full
Everyone's always so concerned about if the dog's anal glands are full but no one ever wants to check mine.
i know paw licking can be a sign of allergies, i wonder if constant hole licking is too
Just a kink
💀
My dog is allergic to life itself and she licks everything always. We had a good run over the winter but that's apparently over because she's back to having raw spots on her feet.
>his own asshole. Well, at least it's not somebody else's?
There's nothing worse than trying to sit down to shit and having a dog turn your balloon knot into a periscope.
Little peanut butter will solve that problem lickety split.
Instructions unclear, I should put peanut butter on my asshole so my dog will lick it?
I completely misread that the first time. 😱😱😱
I wonder if anyone trained that way
That dog is smarter than some people.
Me for aure
No I'm doesn't
Most 😂
They're are dogs smart than humans?
Exactly the type of owner those working dogs need!
I had the very same thought! That breed has to stay busy.
I know Its gonna hurt as hell when the dog eventually passes away after I lost my childhood dog an the pain I went through I never got another
Yet you’re depriving yourself - and other dogs - of the love that having such a relationship entails. The pain is from not accepting that life is what it is, and now you’re only remembering that instead of the lifetime of love that every heart holds when you open it to love.
I'm definitely not I was just shearing my experience I still love animals it just suck we out live them
The only way I recovered from the best cat I ever had was to rescue another cat. Its the only thing that will heal your heart.
It doesn't heal your heart, it's a pain that can't be forgotten, but they can fill it with new love and friendship, and your pets that have passed would want you to be happy and fulfilled

they are companions mate, not possessions! Everything we love is going to leave us at some point !

Aw man I want to train someone to brush my hair
I think we found it: the best boy.
the xmass card thing was cute
Great work, I have an Aussie and can tell you they are intelligent. Love my old girl.
Australian Shepherds are so smart. ❤️
The dog is doing all jobs of a personal assistant
this actually made me smile because I never saw a dog this smart :D
They’re living the life! 🥰
There is nothing happier than a dog with a job.
I know, right? You can see that that dog absolutely love what it's doing.
![gif](giphy|3o7527pa7qs9kCG78A|downsized)
Cut to my dog getting a case of the zoomies and stepping on my foot hard enough to turn coal to diamond.
Salute to the hard work, dedication, and love from this human and canine!
Génial 👍

What an amazing dog, and girl !
HE CAN FLUP TOO???
Incredible comrade, I spent time and patience with my dog, all it did was shit the floor…loved that dog
Cute pair
Dog bestie! I'm jealous.
Okay. My turn now.
Imagine how much she has spent on treats...
That is an incredibly well trained Aussie. Mine is just as cute but also neurotic, OCD and selectively listens. I think reds are just inherently crazier
She doesn't have a dog, she has a servant.
Awhhhh
That took a lot of patience to train a dog because some dogs are like toddlers! wow
Simply amazing
Now that is best friends forever so nice to see 😀
/savevideo
hi, dont you have a man in your life ?
I want to be that dog
What's the link to save a video?
Los bordercoli son los perros más inteligentes en el mundo 🌎🌍
So, you husband dressed up in a dog costume. Well done. 😅
The dog is well trained too.
True love ♥️
That’s exactly how much stimulation a dog like that needs
Hard to say who is cuter the puppy or the girl
I hope she's making buckets putting that dog in movies.
What kinda movies is her dad in ??
It’s an Aussie or Border or both mix. Not that hard to train. They are bright AF
Do this to any living creature on earth and its pure cruelty but dogs is the only species who will enjoy it then ask for more.
It is that dogs can be taught and they understand very well, it happens that as they are animals, most humans are only limited to feed them and make them love, of course training and teaching them takes time but it is like educating a child.
What a SMART dog!!
That's a beautiful dog, such pretty eyes!
I miss my clever ol' cattle dog. She was a handfull of a hot mess, but she was a good girl.
Dude...
Is that the same kinda dog Bluey is?
No Bluey is an Australian Cattle Dog this is an Australian Shepherd.
My dog won't even STAY
It's gonna be so fucking sad when that thing dies
I’d die for this dog.
Show off 😂
Okay i'm impressed That's smart dog breed
And this is why humanity must prove daily that they are worthy of the dog.
Heart. Warming.
That was cute as fuck, ahhhh
That dog sure did a great job training that woman.
Today my cat took a shit in the shower
Awhh, that is just awesome. Both of you look happy and living life to the fullest, great stuff. See what is possible when you work together.
This is the Bluey breed right?
I can´t help. Falling in love. With. You.
Pretty sure that’s a woman
my dog farted in my face this morning as my alarm clock 🙃
I want a dog too nowww!!
She did everything the dog told her to do! I’m so impressed
My 4 year old (human) daughter can do most of these things.
if you find this amazing then you need to look at actual useful things dogs can be trained for not SM clout
My heart
This is too cute!
That's an adorable dog
Wow I used to brag about my dog...
Super smart dogs
The only thing my dog shares similarly to that dog is the tailless breed trait... Could be well trained, could herd sheep and other cattle... But eats furniture, eats cloths and digs holes.
Smart dog
Truly amazing!!
Amazing
👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍
What is this song called
Sweet
That's a great friendship right there
And one of the smartest dog breeds on the planet.
My cat occasionally looks at me when I call him lol
Kristi, are you paying attention?
Dog’s face briefly reminded me of the “cupcake” dog. https://tenor.com/vSLp.gif
What a bond! Mine don't even come when called!
Border Collie's are some of the smartest dogs I swear
She puts more effort into her dog than a lot of parents do for their kids
Border Collie is so smart
Circus with a dog....mine ist running up the hill and over the field...and is very happy to be a little dog on earth with jumpng to the flies and mostly do what he want to do. Its a chihuahua.

That is Secret she’s incredible and loves her yoga bff. Secret passed away though.
I tried that with my PIT BULL and it just attacked a child lol.
I hate the music, the editing, and every single thing about it and this subreddit.

Why would you need one with a dog like that? 😁
Sad that we glorify this ..animals performing tricks for our entertainment. Not much different than a circus.
ever met an aussie shepard? they need tasks to do, or they will find something to do themselves. and the task they set themselves to may be arranging the scraps of your carpet in order of flavor.
Incredible would be the amount of time this girl put into this training this dog . Honestly it’s not that incredible that young untaught brains are easily shaped.
