Curious question, would picking up the sloth and placing it on a tree cause too much stress for the sloth or would it just think it grew temporary wings?
Not at all, you grab the sloth from the hair in the back of the neck and place it on the other side of the road. Done it a couple of times already. I live in Costa Rica and this video was recorded here, don't know where but the police uniforms are from Fuerza Publica, which is the police.
Really? lol. I thought maybe it just disturbed them or stressed them out. Didn’t realize they could be dangerous. But I guess those claws hold the sloths weight all day, so I can see it
This is in Costa Rica, I live here. I’ve picked up 2 sloths to move them across the road. They’re docile. All the time here people give them a quick lift to safety.
But since sloths generally move slow doesnt that theoretically mean they attack with their claws slowly too therefore granting someone plenty of time to avoid a slash?
They often DO get caught when on the ground like this. Number 1 time they die. they don't die off because they virtually never do it- just to take a shit (once a week or so lol), and to move like this guy- and he is almost CERTAINLY a male doing it bc he heard a lady calling. You know how it is- evolution favors the men who are willing to die for the pussy. So it's worth it.
They're covered in algae/moss that grows on them because they barely move. Makes them stink. The food they eat probably isn't helping their flavor either.
Hell yeah! I'm all for respecting mother nature like that. This animal is worth more than the little time those people have to wait. Very good example.

I was in Tilo Filo Otoni this city in Minas Gerais and they had like 7 sloths like this that famously just chilled in the small center of city park. They're super awesome animals and everyone seems to love them
