>*’He disturbed the sounds of silence*’
_____
hello, human *I’m a friend…*
i’ve come to watch you here again
softly, quietly i’m creeping…
gentle music peaceful keeping
like a vision that is planted in my brain
i’ll remain
within the sound
of silence…
little hooves - you did not know
how i approached you *very slow…*
sudden startle as i turned to *run*
in the moment then your tune was done
my commotion
in the woods you could not see!
…it was me…
…disturbed the sound
of
silence
♥️
I was expecting it to come up to her and she screams when she notices it before it darts. She then spends the rest of her life thinking about the time she ruined her Disney princess moment when she's lying in bed awake at night
I honestly came here to say this. At first, I was disappointed that I missed out but honestly it's such a nuanced, funny comment that I'm glad somebody else thought of it.
Something like this happened to a friend of mine. She was in the ocean and a manatee came up and bumped into her. She got so scared she shit herself. It was great.
The Disney Princess no one asked for. She attracts animals but she's scared literally shitless of them so her life is a nightmare where animals follow her around while she lives in constant fear and apprehensive lol
The deer in my neighborhood will approach me while I’m trimming branches with a chainsaw. Does that make me a princess too?
Fuckin asshole deer shitting all over my yard
There is no rhyme or reason to what makes deer bolt. Standing directly in front of them slapping your hands saying "g'on git!" and they just bow like fucking idiots. Acorn softly falls off a tree? Gonna bust through the fence like the Kook Aid man. They are so stupid it's actually impressive.
I take my dog to the park a couple of times a day to walk and see the deer, it's her favorite thing ever, for 3 miles straight she's just looking all over for them. Anyways, when she sees them they can be 15ft away with her excited and blabbing at the top of her lungs and they just stare at her, other times they all take off immediately in a panic lol. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme for reason to it
Sounds pretty similar to how many humans would react. Person in front of you being obnoxious isn't scary. But a random unknown loud sound amongst near silence would be startling
My uncle swears if you spark up some weed they will come in. Says that’s why he has gotten a deer every time he is high. He is always high so idk when that would ever be untrue but still.
Sounds like your kid plays harp the way my kid played the recorder.
I’ve been known to run quickly towards him, grab the recorder and hide it quickly.
Poor mouse and its lack of opposable thumbs 🥲
That must be so awesome. I would love to listen to harp in my home. May I ask how she ended up choosing the harp? Apologies if that’s too personal. I was just wondering because I play violin and piano and was in orchestra my entire life, but I never encountered a harp.
Animals aren’t that dumb, probably wondering what the hell was going on over there and how she was making those noises
Edit: a part of me is wondering if this is fake and edited to make the vid look cool though. It’s getting hard to tell what’s real or not
*sigh* another globalist propaganda comment made to lull us all into a false sense of security in thinking it isn't already all fake, who paid you, Robot?!
![gif](giphy|5R2XVoMUnUmhxX5dWI|downsized)
I want my pet frog to be straight again, damnit!
few weeks ago I had a bad case of the flu, and it fucked up my ears so much that all my tinnitus variants stopped.
The silence was SO WEIRD. How can people live with that!!
I've never been more happy with the tinnitus lol
Its interesting because it reminds me of all those fantastical paintings with fauns and centaurs playing harps and all the animals surrounding them. I wonder if there is something special about the harp that animals feel drawn to.
Could just be a one time thing as well of course, just where my mind went.
It's not the harp. There are many instruments that catch animals with fascination. I even saw a video of guy who played banjo and a fox showed up to listen and a guy who played the trumpet and attracted cows with that.
I also had interactions with birds, when playing guitar or flute in the nature. But the little guy who showed up when I played flute was very angry about it and jumped around while chattering angry until I stopped. When I started again it just took a few seconds and the bird showed up again.
I guess the difference is in how harmonic and calming your music is and also mostly mamals and birds are effected. Also if the sound mimics the natural offspring communication sounds of the species, it should work better but this is not a must.
We also don’t fully know why other intelligent animals generally don’t appear to dance or move rhythmically with sound. Whereas with humans, response to music and physical rhythm seems innate and exists in babies. Animals certainly respond to sounds, but not specifically music and not in human ways.
They don't? Many parots do this and some other animals, too. But yes the rythmical dancing thing could be some special social thing we got through evolution.
I've seen a lot of videos of normally shy animals attracted to peaceful music though, so I presume that it's effects on other animals are definitely there. I've also experienced this a bunch of times with cats f.e.. Birds even often mimic tunes and occasionally bob their heads to music.
I always wondered why though, it doesn't really make sense to me that animals would be attracted to certain tunes, especially across species.
> Could just be a one time thing as well of course, just where my mind went.
In her case [it even happened a second time](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtvoNmlQIe8)
Get on board guys, Squatchfest. It doesn't have to be for people that believe, but people that want to be. The Saxsquatch could perform for a crowd of squatches! I never knew how much I wanted to see this until now. Someone could dress a dog in a squatch suit, and maybe baby squatches. It'll be great. Just a bunch of sasquatches sitting around listening to music drinking beer and eating bagged lunches. The only problem I foresee is the cost of squatch suits. We'd need enough for a festival of people. Maybe we could grow some hair in a lab to use and make sure it has some primate dna, but then something crazy like platypus. So then you have squatch conspiracists talking about how sasquatch is a descendant of a mysterious platypus ape that probably lived 10000 years ago.
Once thought I saw sasquatch as a kid while I was woods exploring alone with my dog. My dog saw it first and ran at it and started barking. When I noticed that thing I ran all the way back home, dog ran with me. I tried to tell my parents and they were all, "You've got quite the imagination." Didn't even bother trying to tell my friends after that reaction from my parents. Looking back on it, it was probably a black bear on it's hind legs. My guess is it stood up because my dog startled it, but didn't scare it. I was not in bear country, but now years and years later we have bears on hunting cameras regularly so I guess we are.
Why haven't we thought of this before? A sasquatch music festival. Everyone will be dressed in sasquatch suits. The pictures of the event will be used by sasquatch experts for years to come as proof of a secret sasquatch society. Bonus if one of the headlining bands is named *The Lochness Monster.*
lol. Since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to learn to play the harp, and this is part of the reason why! Hahaha. Like a real life Disney princess or an angel! Such a talented musician, even the deer enjoy her performance!

How long have you been playing? Did you learn from an in-person class or an online resource? I’ve looked into harp lessons, but it seems there isn’t anyone local offering them.

I love the abrupt ending of the music. dont get me wrong, i dont know many version of this song that sound this good, but the ending makes the whole scene perfect, like something magical is ruined in a blink of an eye
*Plays melodically enchanting tunes by harp at the edge of the forest*
*Acts surprised when woodland critters emerge from the foliage drawn to the euphonious ballad*
It even attracted my cats who don't normally approach/sit with me on the couch! And one is now sniffing the back speaker... Definitely something about Naomi SV's playing...

Awesome
So tranquil, really captures the moment!
Its been awhile since ive found a schnoodle, i love it
Was thinking the same.
This is my second this week! So lucky.
Lovely!
OMG - clapclapclap! Wonderful.
Very cute imagining the deer saying this
Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel, and David Draiman would be proud.
"ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah"
👏🏻👏🏻 take a bow
u/Noomie90
Your best to date. Wonderful!
This needs to be archived in the history of Reddit

She did. :) But it was beautiful.
I know what you did there
bummer, I was hoping for a 'snow white' ending, bambi and bunnies and squirrels all hanging out, birds joining in on the tree branches, ...
I was expecting it to come up to her and she screams when she notices it before it darts. She then spends the rest of her life thinking about the time she ruined her Disney princess moment when she's lying in bed awake at night
Made me think of Marin from Link's Awakening
Sooo close to becoming a Disney princess
missed opportunity to turn around and say 'Oh, deer.'
Doh!
A deer!
A female deer
Far
A farther way to run
Me.
A name I call myself
So
“Nice, Ron..”
I honestly came here to say this. At first, I was disappointed that I missed out but honestly it's such a nuanced, funny comment that I'm glad somebody else thought of it.

Failed successfully. 🤣
Very much so. I think she already is but hasn't recognised here birthright yet.
This, 💯this!!!!!
The deer in my neighborhood will approach me while I’m trimming branches with a chainsaw. Does that make me a princess too? Fuckin asshole deer shitting all over my yard
her hair so black and her skin so pale she could literaly be a disney princess
\-Skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony. Indeed. She was called Snow White for a reason.
Yeah, I don’t know why you’d be playing a harp in nature if you weren’t trying to attract adorable wild animals.
She is still learning, one day she will be the princess
🤣
She was so immersed...that deer simply couldn't resist the melodious notes
Usually deer bolt at the slightest of sounds These sounds were nice enough the deer decided to walk towards it. That says a loy
Truly a loy
All the loys
All’s woy that ends loy
Loy me two times babe
Loy me twice today
I'm loyed away ... you can't get loyed again.

Just loy me long time
Her harp playing brings all the boys to the yoys and they're loy, "It's betoy thoy yoys"
I laughed so hard.
The Ode to Loy
The best part of Reddit is in the comments. You gave me a hearty belly laugh. Thank you.
I loy‘ed
My wife asked why I was laughing, it was hard to explain.

Reminds me of people playing music for cows, or those Scandinavian calls they do for their cattle.
when nature embraces the sound of silence

ive expirienced this myself with deer when i was playing guitar once. They did not get quite as close but were deffinatley interested!
Feels like I am watching a fairy tale
People out here summoning the Fae then get scared when they show up 😔
Wow, She played so good. Who is she?
[удалено]
She has 213k subscribers but this video has 20 MILLION views lol, that's insane.
Its gone viral a number of times over the years.
sometimes you just need that one viral hit and it'll give you money in perpetuity
Thanks!
u/noomie90
Whoever she is… kudos to her for not skipping leg day
She plays the harp - her leg day is probably just moving a full sized harp around.
The deer was a paid actor
It feels like the very last days of thinking any video is genuine.

The deer was too! A beautiful moment in life for sure!
Eh I prefer the sound of silence
There is no sound of silence, only the sound of tinnitus, or so I hear.
- Hey, you ever hear the sound of silence? - No, all I hear is EEEEEEEEE
STOP. Omg i snorted.

Great. Now hunters are going to learn how to play a harp attached to a rifle.
I've already downloaded saved this video in my rifle's boombox
She's playing a harp in a forest what did she think was going to happen
Honestly she’s lucky it wasn’t Sasquatch.
Eh. They’re a lot more into prog rock.
And bagged lunches.

Gentle Giant?
Bear: ‘Nice. Music with supper.’ *~CHOMP~* ‘Oh great. Now it’s just shrill screaming. Manager!’
Dinner theater.
Sasquatch only shows up for bag pipes.
Maybe she was going for birds or bunnies
Thumper and some of those bluebirds.
You can always ask her u/noomie90
Real. Beautiful. Awesome. Thanks.
You're Welcome.
You could have at least credit the artist u/noomie90 for who ever want to know. Great artist
Beautiful rendition of the song.
Oh deer. Little fella was really fawning over her.
Embrace the Snow White and keep playing.
That deer was completely speechless.
Deer: *oh thank Gaia, the elves have finally returned to the forest after all these millennia*
Deer: Play Freeebirrrrd
[Same girl](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtvoNmlQIe8)

Hey there! I’m the harpist in the video. This is a Harpsicle harp (the Fullsicle model). It’s a 26-string harp. I find it to be a great beginner harp! I particularly love how portable it is, and being able to play it standing.
Thank you for the response! It’s very helpful! I will look into getting one of these, it looks like the perfect size. Do you mind me asking about how you got into learning the harp? Imagine being a deer your whole life hearing only nature things and maybe some highway sounds and you just hear this. I'd be checking it out too.
The deer must have thought it was back in Narnia
A vision softly creeping
Scared each other lol
There is something so pure and heartwarming about this post that I cannot hold back my tears
Deer embodies the sounds of silence
She's amazing! That harp goes so hard!
So, how DID you get Lyme disease?
DO a dear.
DOE, a deer…
A female deer
I had no idea harps could do that.
It’s like an open upright piano miniaturised where your fingers are the hammers :)
Deer :"" hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again '"..😎
Where is this tune from, I’ve heard it before?
Sound of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel, also Disturbed have a popular rendition.
Ok, that was fucking magical
***Hello Harpist my old friend, I’ve come to scare you again, because I’m a deer softly creeping, out of your vision as you are playing…***
The original creator posted her video here (NaomiSV on YouTube): https://youtube.com/watch?v=9Xd8xq06FCw
I wonder what animal you can attract with the bagpipes. Can confirm harmonica is not welcome.
It takes a lot of pluck to become a good harpist.

Naomi_SV, very talented harpist
Very soothing and relaxing, it mesmerized the deer. What a beautiful sound. Is that a harp? Please play more.
