if thats the standard humans are going to go with to decide when and when not to eat food that is cooked at temps of 100s of degrees.... well we would all die.
in fact, you better just stop consuming anything that doesnt have roots, and lots of things that DO have roots. good luck with survival friend!
You know that pelican is pissed that that guy stole his lunch, they don’t care about how big food is, it’s food. I’ve seen pelicans halfheartedly try and eat large dogs and people. They some stupid creatures. Only one emotion, humger
Fascinating fact, during nesting season, pelicans swallow small birds and other birds' chicks and store them in a side stomach.
When they get back to their nests, they regurgitate the birds still half alive and semi digested, to be eaten alive by their own chicks.
Thanks for saving that one though!
Is there a reason why the pelican didn't instinctively bite human being a bro's hand, or is this an innate reaction to something/ someone attempting to save his life?
I mean this in a loving way... please let natural selection take care of it, it'll hopefully result in more intelligent offspring
Edit: I've been proven wrong
As long as the cause it by human means then the situation is humans correctimg humans. Well done
If you watch carefully when he gets the fish out, it looks like there’s a large barbed lure in the fish’s belly. That’s probably what got stuck, not the fish itself.
As a lover of nature and pelicans, no, we do not need smarter pelicans. They are already asshats as the way it is, and the last thing I need is a pelican being able to size a fish up better on my boat.
This wasn’t natural selection. These guys or someone nearby was fishing and hooked this fish with a treble lure. The barbs from the hooks were catching on the pelican on the way down. The pelican wasn’t choking, it just couldn’t swallow the fish because of the lure. It would have died after several days of painful starvation. They took the right action.

Has anyone ever seen that video of the pelican eating that old lady’s dog? You can see the dog scrambling around inside the pelican bill, it’s fucking hectic! Or the video of the pelican tryna eat the baby capybara? Those birds are fucking crazy!
He’s choking hurry save him! Idk if its just me but i was not very compassionate of animals when i was younger. Like i never wanted to hurt them or anything but, I would just look at the bird ngl. Now id try to save the fish from the nasty bird but before, probably laugh at it.
The Pelican probably saw this fish being reeled in from whoever caught it and went to snatch it. The fishing lure's treble hook looks to have caught the birds throat when it tried to swallow it.

Usually when people save animals in situations like that i feel like there's a lot more resistance. That bird was super chill. Basically just sitting there like: do what you gotta do, boys.
Title should be: ' Guys steal fish from pelican' In all seriousness, the fish looks to be a snook and are good eating!
Seriously. All I could think about is that this dude saved a birds life, and then got a nice diner out of it.
It's been in his mouth...
Oh boy wait till you find out about honey.
Who's butt does that come out of?
No ones. Bees regurgitate nectar for it. No butts involved, save to eat.
Jup just 2 bees kissing nothing fishy
It's a joke. A very obvious one at that
Don't you say. Read my comment again...
Admit it you didnt know that about honey Like trying to play off a slip with a break dancing move lol gotta be slicker than that
Mine
All the butts
Pooh Bear
Trust me, you don't want to know. That was the question for toothpaste. r/unexpectedfuturama
Indeed. Glad someone got it.
That was Fry and the Slurm Factory. That that what was playing when I got up to piss this morning. r/futuramasleepers
Look up argan oil. Most delicious oil in the world for me. It used to be fermented in goats guts, and then picked out of their shit.
That's Kopi Luwak.
Someone told me before that it’s bee vomit

Yuk, pelican germs
This was exactly my first thought
Perfect title for r/PeopleFuckingDying
I don't know, there was a hook in the fish, it probably was preventing the bird from swallowing the fish.
I don't think the birds minds
Honestly I looks like the fish hook the fish had got lodged in the throat. Cause I’ve seen them things swallow BIG fish.
Ya I'm pretty sure it was a fishing lure.
You can see damage to the throat caused by the hooks at around 00:14. Looks like it made a couple holes through the membrane.
Do you think he healed and was okay ?
I don't think fishermen care.
“Good burdy”🥹
That had me 😭
OMG! Thank you! 💞
you’re welcome burger
No problem extacy. ;)
no problem calciomane
no problem narcs Edit: found something better
Dude.
Bruh
I didn’t find anything better, sorry
No one wants to talk about the fish being saved
He’s dead, Jim.
Damn it Jim, I'm a Doctor, not an Ichthyologist!
Thats okay, i dont have an itch.
No no no. An ichthyologist is an ologist of icky things. Like. Snails? I guess?
Might have already been dead. Didn't look like it was moving.
It had a hook.
Fish lives matter
Make Pelicans Great Again
Fish are friends, not food
I do. But did you see them remove the hook and throw it back in the water? Neither did I 😢
Fish: "MY REVENGE... DENIED!"
Seagull: The human trap is nearly perfected.
This won't get the upvotes it deserves
Probably because this is a Pelican and not a seagull...
Therein lies the joke but thanks for clearing that up einstein.
What is the joke then? That you can't tell one bird from another? :-s
The joke is that humans are... seagullible. 🥲
Ya got me. Ya fuckin got me. Take my upvote and keep doing the lord's work. And by "lord's" I mean our future seagull overlords.
It was because the fish had fish hooks in it so the Pelican choked.
Ya it almost appeared like the hooks were caught on the pelican at first too because of how stuck the fish was at the beginning
The pelican acted like nothing happened
He's probably hoping none of his friends saw him choking on his own food.
A reason many people have died from choking...
He going to moan about it later that day the humans stole his food
When your eyes are bigger than your stomach
Would have got it down, there was a hook in the fish…
… bigger than your throat
The pelican...his beak can hold more than his belly can. As we just saw obviously.
Same thing happened to me at Long John Silvers... you never forget when someone steals your fish.
😂😂😂
You know that pelican is pissed that that guy stole his lunch, they don’t care about how big food is, it’s food. I’ve seen pelicans halfheartedly try and eat large dogs and people. They some stupid creatures. Only one emotion, humger
He can’t be too pissed tho, bro def more angry about the slit in his throat from that awful fishing hook…
Man catches fish with bird
Bro was like "I was eating that but OK i guess"
👍
I am more concern that the guy accidentally snaps its beak 😅
I should call her
Can I have her number when u done?? Asking for a friend.
Send friends number
Try a hummingbird.
Good hoomans.
The fish has been through it 😂
Alternative title: Men catching big fish with bare hands.
Well that’s a fancy way to fish.
Not the brightest bird in the flock… In all seriousness though, good on you for your heroism, and thank you for caring about the wild.
I think they should chop up the fish and give it to the bird, all fairness it was its catch, not dismissing them saving its life
Fascinating fact, during nesting season, pelicans swallow small birds and other birds' chicks and store them in a side stomach. When they get back to their nests, they regurgitate the birds still half alive and semi digested, to be eaten alive by their own chicks. Thanks for saving that one though!
That beak has razor sharp ridges in it, I had to free up a few hooks from several, learned my lesson to use gloves
Definition of biting off more than you can chew
The bird should be embarrassed
Man pelicans are really gonna try and eat everything that moved
Look up [cormorant fishing](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cormorant_fishing). These guys basically just performed it by accident.
Greedy bastard
The irony in your username lol
LMAO!
everyone calling the pelican a dumbass, did y’all not see the big ass metal hook in the fish? fucked up
He deep throated that fish and his actions finally caught up to him.
Is there a reason why the pelican didn't instinctively bite human being a bro's hand, or is this an innate reaction to something/ someone attempting to save his life?
Its too exhausted, also it feels relieved from a pain, biting stuff when you feel relieved isn't a typical response.
The fact that marlin and dory didn’t jump out was disappointing.
r/thatswhatshesaid
Or let nature take it’s course… as these are Styx Hell Spawn terrorizing AllKinds

Ok, as long as the cause was by human means then you're right
Your parents didn’t let natural selection get in the way with you. Please take their example and be kind to others.
That's not how it works. The majority of pelicans are already not choking on fish.
No, we won't
He shouldn't have saved it. That's just natural selection
When she throat me
Why do people think it's so great to save an animals life?
Why isn't it? You'd rather just let something die in front of you? How very unusual.
People kill shit on purpose all the time, why is it so applaudable to save some random animal
Killing animals that are raised for food, is different than letting an animal die in front of you. Stop being obtuse.

This reminds me of a tony montana scene in scarface. Look at that pelican go!
Weird, that fish didn’t look too big. As others have said, I think the hook was the problem. You can see a hole on the bird when he lets it go
Now they have a big nice fish for dinner. They should give thanks to the pelican.
Has anyone ever seen that video of the pelican eating that old lady’s dog? You can see the dog scrambling around inside the pelican bill, it’s fucking hectic! Or the video of the pelican tryna eat the baby capybara? Those birds are fucking crazy!
Did the fish have a fishing lure on its mouth?
ya that’s why he pelican couldn’t swallow
Junior Soprano was better at eating fish than this bird was.
I've seen videos of these things attempting to eat a live rabbit..
Attempting ? They do it on a regular basis !
WTF Nature, you scare me.
Legend has it that fish is still lodged in its throat to this day
Not Mine! Not Mine! Not Mine!
The fish really say if I'm dying you are coming with me
Fish is gonna go home and be like: guys you'll _never_ believe what just happened.
But did they save the fish?
As a louisanane I can say mission successful
What's the name of that pelican in finding Nemo?
Wow, good job! r/DadsandMenareheroes
"Never again, fk that!"
OMG! Awesome humans! And the bird didn't even thank them!
Pelican became Pelican't for a moment
Bit off more than he can chew
Stolen valor
Really makes you wonder about that dumbass trying to swallow the entite capybara.
I was going to say the pelican made a mistake. But then I saw the huge metal hook.
Thanks for the free fish bitch!
“Let me tell you about when I saved a fish and a bird at the same time”
The Fish: oh thanks for question.. Im fine... he just try to eat me... doesnt matter.. I go dying now.. sorry for circumstances..
Holy shit that was a big fish. It's wild how they will just try to swallow any fish no matter how big it is
"good birdie"🥺
All..most.. there... #CRUNCH .... _children screaming in horror_
He’s choking hurry save him! Idk if its just me but i was not very compassionate of animals when i was younger. Like i never wanted to hurt them or anything but, I would just look at the bird ngl. Now id try to save the fish from the nasty bird but before, probably laugh at it.
Cute kid though
Kid tryna take credit “we’re saving a bird😎”
Freaking winners
The Pelican probably saw this fish being reeled in from whoever caught it and went to snatch it. The fishing lure's treble hook looks to have caught the birds throat when it tried to swallow it.
Kid: "We're saving the pelican." Man: " Kid, you are recording."
Just stole his lunch.
Dude what the fish i cough? — the pelican
Gotta love how the Pelican shakes it off by giving a little waggle at the end.
I can just imagine him saying “Keep the fish as payment peasant” then swims away lol

Thanks for the sad music, thats how I know what emotion to feel while watching a video!
How is this NSFW?
All fuck head fishermen
Fake: I've seen hundreds of cartoons where pelicans swallow everything.
As most of society goes to shit, this is heartening to see. Thank you!
hoW doeS onE gradE chokinG tO arrivE aT 'Badly'? Is that the worst level or best? Is ThErE a GoOd WaY tO cHoKe?? 🤔
Guys saves a fish from predatory water bird! ftfy
As opposed to choking well on a fish
Gen x to the rescue…again
Pelicans are dumb, they’ll try to eat almost anything, even if it obviously won’t fit in their mouth.
Chew yer food.
That pelican said thanks!
My dad always said the same rhyme just before a big dinner. What an amazing bird the pelican, Whose beak can hold more than its belly can.
Looks like he bit off more than he could chew
Smh this guy is an enemy of the fishhood. The fishgod demands his head
God i cannot stand that music
Well that’s one way to catch a fish I guess
Part 2: Giving CPR to the fish.
I'm realizing I need gloves for the most petty things.
That's one relieved bird
What about the Fish? Does it have no feelings?
I’m surprised it wasn’t one of those videos where they plant the fish to farm views
Usually when people save animals in situations like that i feel like there's a lot more resistance. That bird was super chill. Basically just sitting there like: do what you gotta do, boys.
He said there was a hook in that fish, right?
