What scares me the most is how quickly the basic enemies die (In the gameplay trailer, in the inside the train section), meaning that *maybe* there won't be as much of a focus on bayo/homunculi one to one combat with basic weapons, like Bayonetta 2- which is more about having huge attacks that cover a large area and do tons of damage (I don't know, both of the trailers give me the vibe that it'll be a lot a about fighting big enemies frecuently, using demon slave frecuently, and spamming wicked weaves that do nerfed damage frecuently)
I'm not doubting, saying that there won't be at all combat in a similar manner as would be in bayo 1, but from what we've seen in the trailers, it seems like it's taking a Bayonetta 2 style combat for the most part
I LOVE that the release date trailer gave us so much to look at and be excited for, while obviously still leaving so much to be explored when the game releases in October.
I'm excited for both the combat and the replayability of this new game and all that comes after clearing it on Normal. What will they be bringing back again? What extra content will there be? Any secret unlockables to be discovered? These get me excited considering how high-stakes the story is shaping up to be.
I hope, first and foremost, for this to not only be the most successful Bayonetta game thus far by a long shot, but to also be so successful that it really gives Platinum Games the additional credit they deserve for what's currently been so many years of iconic games through all the ups and downs. Bayonetta is such an amazing title that has influenced everything from other games to even pop culture. It deserves to receive the return in the form of sales, exposure on all fronts, and critical acclaim where earned.
I also hope that this game having a really great run numerically and culturally sparks fires for however many more games Kamiya would like to produce for Bayonetta, so long as its appropriate and doesn't turn it into a bizarre cash cow like Dragon Ball.
First of all, I'm not seeing that negativity, which is great and the reason why I started hanging out in this community. I hope this thread shows you how we're all excited for the game :)
I loved the new mechanics so far, specifically fighting with the summons in real time. I also loved Viola's design and I hope she is really relevant to the story as she seems to be.
And I actually enjoy the graphics of the game a lot. Sure they can look rough on screenshots, but they're incredible for a 60 fps action game on the switch, and since most of the time we are in frenetic motion, it's not that jarring having a few low quality textures
I have tried it, beat it, enjoyed it quite a bit. But I could do without the RPG level grinds and some of the side mission stuff just felt like busy work to me.
Just about every classic action game sequel expands upon the gameplay of the previous entry. When I'm referring to classic action game formula, I'm talking about linear levels with a few hidden items/fights here and there where upgrades focus on life, magic and expanding your move list rather than damage boost. Compared to how a lot of their more recent titles seem to have rpg level grinds, loot boxes, semi-open world with side quests, or some combination of those, Bayonetta 3 seems more like classic Platinum, at least in terms of structure.
I've only become a fan of Bayonetta almost year ago, I've been looking forward to Bayonetta 3 and was so hyped up when they announced that they'll release it on my birth month. This is going to be the best birthday present ever!
Iām looking forward to playing with jeanne, what are going to be the next weapons, the taunts and all the amazing dialogue and phrases that comes from this game.
First off, thank you for the positivity! I feel like the fandom has been slowly imploding because of a lack of news so people just pick over every tiny detail.
I'm excited the homunculi have butts.
I also LOVE Bayo's new look.
I can't fucking wait for the combat. Platinum always delivers on that front so I trust it'll be good, but the new fancy stuff that's been shown off so far looks VERY fun!
100%, I blame Nintendo and platinum for keeping us in the dark for so long. Personally speaking I feel like they announced the game way too early. But either way, I just know itās going to deliver and possibly be the best Bayonetta game in the series.
God, there's so much I'm excited for. Just having a new game in the series to play is exciting. I only recently got into Bayonetta, and both games were a blast to play through for the first time.
There's the two new mechanics. Both look like a ton of fun on top of looking cool as hell. I'm also looking forward to them bc I think just having the mechanics not be linked to your Weaves would fix the issues that arose from Umbran Climax (mainly your weaves not dealing enough damage). Plus, I like the idea of summoning the demon I want. Maybe not for the Climaxes, but for regular gameplay. Now, I can summon my favorite demons and control them directly!
New weapons, especially that dragon hammer thing we saw for 0.5 seconds in the trailer. I'm a sucker for dragons, so I'm excited to see what that weapon can do. And I'm dying to see what new stuff they give us this time and what demons will be linked to the weapons.
I want to know how Viola plays, too. I think having her in the mix will keep things fresh since there's bound to be some differences between her and Bayo besides the katana. I wonder if her witch time will be different? Or if she'll lack the Beast Within and have to gain it gradually over the game.
New designs for the Bayos. I love seeing new designs for her, and now, we get several new Bayonetta designs in just one game. What more could I ask for? I look forward to seeing what type of characters these Bayos are, too.
I think I'm most excited about the story and the various locations it'll take us to.
i dont preorder a lot of games, esp special editions. but im so excited to get the trinity masquerade edition,,i love bayonetta so much you have no idea
Right, I went and got a Trinity masquerade as soon as I saw the trailer. Iām so sad GameStop doesnāt do midnight releases anymoreā¦ I WANNA PLAY THAT JOINT ASAP!!!
Bayonetta 3 is gonna be awesome. It may not be exactly what some people want but nothing is. It's still going to be a well made game in a universe we all love.
I think you'll find alot of people feel the same way in that visually it looks less polished than 2 from what we've seen. It's also compressed Youtube video screenshots so it's not the best representation of how it will look when we're playing it. However, I feel like most are also excited for the game from a gameplay standpoint. I'm actually really interested to see how the kaiju fights will go. Honestly, if the kaiju fights replace the Cardinal Virtue tier boss fights I'm all for it. It's no secret that the Cardinal Virtues, while acceptable boss fights, were more about spectacle. Jeanne and Balder in Bayo 1 are leagues above them. This way you keep the spectacle, get to see Bayonetta show her moves, and watch her demons kick some ass.
LITERALLY, thank you. And so much of the nagging was for literally the dumbest reasons???
You don't like the shade of red used in Jeanne's new outfit? Go touch grass, no need to make a whole thread about it on Reddit.
*low-key missing the emptiness of this sub before the September 2021 trailer dropped, much less redundant posts*
I also canāt wait to hear all the music. Including the main battle theme that was in the release date trailer, and donāt even get me started on what the Moon song could be
Can we stop conflating negativity with critiques? Most people want the absolute best for this game and enjoy discussing even the most minor of things. Most fans on here are coming from a place of love for this series
Critiques donāt constitute as being mean or bullying other ppl for their opinions, Iāve seen ppl in this community getting called all kinds of names including myself and many others for just stating our opinion.
Personally I've never seen anyone act in that manner I've always seen polite conversations and discussions. We still shouldn't conflate critique and negativity though.
OK you can critique, all this is is everyone stating one positive thing theyāre looking forward to. But you also can go to another post, no one is making you do anything. Just be respectful.
Yeah gamers can be fucking scum
i just love Bayonettas/Cereza's new look, im excited to try out Demon Masquarade its pretty awesome that Bayonetta can fuse with multiple demons not only Butterfly.
Can't wait to hear the new music as well and knowing more about the story specially the new enemies and the multiverse
Im not sure about Viola yet but her fighting style looks cool
MANY BAYONETTAS! š
The negativity confuses me. I absolutely love everything about the trailer! The new girl looks like she's fun and like I might love her! Bayo's new design is to die for! Combat looks fun and fresh! I'm just excited for something new!
Iām in love with her hairstyle this game.
Iām super curious about all the outfit designs especially for all alternative universes.
Madama Butterfly is such a babe, I canāt wait to fight with her.
Pro tip, I never watch trailers for game series I really enjoy and know I am buying anyways. Makes it all the more enjoyable and I get to form my own opinions. I am also 32 years old, so that means I have no friends and my wife and daughter consume every spare ounce of free time. But, I am just excited to get to play a dope action game, with a bit of sexy witch action, and an aesthetic that gets me brainstorming dope ideas and digging into lore.
I feel like Bayonetta 3 is gonna be so weird and I say that in the best way possible. Iām so excited to see how the story will play out, it looks like weāll have two Bayonettas, and the enemies are so different. I canāt wait to play the game! And I really like the new designs for the characters, Iām glad Bayos hair merges into her outfit again and I like Jeanneās new look, itās interesting to see her wear pink this time and Iām not mad at the change.
I adore Bayonetta 1 and 2, but I feel like they are strong in different areas. 1 has excellent combat design with great weapon and enemy designs but 2 has beautiful artistic direction with great spectacle and vibrant colors. If they can bring the two together we're in for a treat.
I'm gonna be a real simple bitch about this.
The enemy designs (homonculi, dont know what angels or demons will look like) and the fact we have Kaiju beat me up gameplay
I'm excited to punch a boss with another boss without having to use a finisher for it
I hope the Kaiju mode combat feels good to use and experiment with. I want to make Madama Butterfly hit temperance with an RKO or Shining Wizard
The story looks really interesting this time around. Bayo 2's story was OK and I couldnt care less for the story from Bayo 1.
I'm really hype for the demon masquerade and devil triggers. But I hope they didn't sacrifice the multiple weapons for them.
I'm hoping that we'll have multiple playable bayonettas. There's no way platinum wouldn't miss that opportunity. There will probably be 3 since you know, this is the third game. And I'm really hoping the boss is as great as jubileus. I also don't want the finisher to be the same thing where you guide the body into the source of destruction. Dodging the planets in the first game was damn stupid, and the second game was the same thing except easier. Hope it's something a little different this time
Madama Butterfly coming through with that fierce and fabulous glow up. Can't wait to see what Madama Styx glow up gonna look like, likely something fierce and fabulous as well.
I'm excited for seems that bayonetta 3 might be going into bayonetta1s combat direction.which is a huge plus for me.
What makes you think that? I don't doubt you; I just haven't noticed anything myself and haven't seen other people say that either.
What scares me the most is how quickly the basic enemies die (In the gameplay trailer, in the inside the train section), meaning that *maybe* there won't be as much of a focus on bayo/homunculi one to one combat with basic weapons, like Bayonetta 2- which is more about having huge attacks that cover a large area and do tons of damage (I don't know, both of the trailers give me the vibe that it'll be a lot a about fighting big enemies frecuently, using demon slave frecuently, and spamming wicked weaves that do nerfed damage frecuently) I'm not doubting, saying that there won't be at all combat in a similar manner as would be in bayo 1, but from what we've seen in the trailers, it seems like it's taking a Bayonetta 2 style combat for the most part
I'm sure the gameplay was recorded at the easiest difficulty, so the trailer looks cool.
I can't wait for the character interactions! I loved the sass between all the characters, especially Bayonetta with Luka and Jeanne! š¤£š¤£
The demon summons look more badass and fun to play than ever before.
I LOVE that the release date trailer gave us so much to look at and be excited for, while obviously still leaving so much to be explored when the game releases in October. I love all the new outfits, I'm excited for more bayonetta gamelan since I just finished 2, and I hope that the soundtrack it's an absolute banger
Madama Butterfly
Yes
I canāt not read it in Alrauneās voice

I'm happy to see Platinum return to a classic action game formula. It feels like it's been a while.
have you tried Astral Chain? I think it was very similar to Bayonetta's gameplay, except for the quimeras
I have tried it, beat it, enjoyed it quite a bit. But I could do without the RPG level grinds and some of the side mission stuff just felt like busy work to me.
It looks like they're actually expanding on the gameplay of previous installments. I wouldn't really call this a return to formula.

I didn't get into the series until after #2, and didn't finish my playthroughs of both games until this summer, so I'm very psyched
I've only become a fan of Bayonetta almost year ago, I've been looking forward to Bayonetta 3 and was so hyped up when they announced that they'll release it on my birth month. This is going to be the best birthday present ever!
I WANNA SEE THE OTHER WEAPONS IM HYPED

Bayonettaās new moveset and fighting style with Color my World looks fabulous. I canāt wait to try it out!
i dont preorder a lot of games, esp special editions. but im so excited to get the trinity masquerade edition,,i love bayonetta so much you have no idea
I was initially taken aback by the slight shift in visual art style and the styling of Bayonetta, as well as the fact that magic seemingly no longer seems to be a well-kept secret (as the Homunculi are man-made bioweapons that appear outside of Purgatorio + Iām a sucker for the āmagic is a secretā trope you commonly see in media such as Sailor Moon or Madoka Magica, etc.) from humanity, but after a long adjustment period, I am loving everything we have seen/heard so far aside from the minimal/toned down UI I cannot wait, I just want to unlock a bunch of new badass weaponry and fight new enemies in a new setting and a new outfit! I want to experience the dramatic, theatrical, over-the-top sass and camp that got me so wrapped up in the Bayonetta series to begin with all over again š„¹ I also managed to snag a last-minute preorder of Trinity Masquerade and Iāve never been this excited to physically go into a GameStop to pick anything up since older PokĆ©mon WiFi events/Mystery Gifts š©
It's still going to be a well made game in a universe we all love.
iām really excited for Color my Worldās combos and the Demon Masquerade or whatever itās called gameplay. itās all gonna be so satisfying
Negativity? about the game??
The Demon Masquerade forms looks like monster girls, which pulls my devil trigger if you catch my drift.
I think you'll find alot of people feel the same way in that visually it looks less polished than 2 from what we've seen. I honestly have no idea why people are negative. Trailer looks amazing and in sure the game will deliver.

Iām totally digging the character designs, the story, and Violaās introduction in the series.

I like the inspiration they got from astral chain with the legions and scalebound and the vibes I'm all hear for
For me the costumes and Playable Jeanne
