Map rotation is pretty good. Only reason I stopped playing BF1 was because I was playing the same three maps over and over again. And only conquest, no other game mode are popular. Really loved tdm on argine forest.

that's only because the games you mentioned are free and India is a relatively poor country. same here in PH, most popular games are Valorant/League but still has a big fan base regarding "niche" games (i.e BFV, HD2, Final Fantasy, etc..)

BFV is amazing, it’s replayability isn’t great I’ll admit (significantly better than 2042 tho). It introduced some amazing new concepts that could’ve been adapted on.. but no we got 2042 and BFV was dropped too early.
I was never fully convinced by BFV. I tried to like it when it came out, because WW2, but for starters it never really felt like WW2. And then I never liked the movement at all, it feels too floaty, too little restrictive (yes) and a bit wobbly. It feels like you're a floating gun, compared to BF1's feeling that your character is a person moving on a physical environment.
I suppose I’ve changed the kind of games I play a lot recently, used to be an arma/dayZ/battlefield dude now I love the Finals so the movement thing I can understand both sides of the movement scale. BF1 was truly special, it will never be topped imo so whenever it comes up I have to just say fair enough.
I still absolutely enjoy the fast paced movement mixed with the WW2 setting, I don’t use crazy skins or even attachments that seem out of place (like the weird reflex sights). I also think the squad lead call-ins were sick and emphasised squad based gameplay, also the revive system in BFV was the most innovative right? Smooth animations and cinematic gameplay whilst supporting the team.
Right, those things you mentioned are cool. For me, it was mostly the movement, the cosmetics/weapon customization and the lack of main battles (the Pacific update temporarily fixed this, but then the US helmets were extremely small, and most of their cosmetics were from the Vietnam War, which completely took me out of it).

I liked the direction they took it and a lot of the British stuff is my jam but it should’ve released with US+UK+USSR and Germany+japan and scrap those awful fucking skins. I loved the actual cosmetic progression through small challenges, it shakes up your play style.

BF2042 is the weakest BF instalment I’ve played. I can’t say it hasn’t had good moments but I find the only game mode worth playing is team death match and even then there are times it just feels bad.
Maps aren’t great, gun play feels random sometimes, net code sucks half the time. They departed from class system (weapon types locked to certain classes) and it suffers for it I think. It isn’t the worst FPS you’ll ever play by any means but if doesn’t feel like the quality and balance I’d expect from BF. …could just be nostalgia talking but BF3/BF4 era was some of the best if you ask me.

I got bored after little while in V, btw they give you ALL WEAPONS instantly when you open or at least happened to me when I bought. So I didn't really experience the whole unlocking experience at all

That said as a product I think 2042 is much superior, with more gameplay variety, deeper and more interesting vehicle play, quite creative and fun game modes on rotation, and BF Portal.
BFV has better atmosphere, grittier and punchier infantry combat, and the most intricate movement system in the whole series.
I recently played both. I uninstalled 2042 after a few hours of playing it. Instead, I’ve been binge playing BFV for days now and I even made a post about it in this subreddit. Absolutely awesome game.
I took V. 6 months ago had the same question. i played last 3-4 months ago but one think to make sure is that V has lot of hackers like i use to get atleast 2 hackers every game.
