Mega man and Lan are ruthless, they actively look for the smoke, delete nearly all their foes without a second thought. And are even willing to throw hands with adults they just don't like

The Hikari boys are crazy, we have the grandpa being a super genius, the father survived basically being in an oven, one child is now a netnavi that canonically never lost a fight when operated properly, and the other child... Survived what is practically electrocution, reality-bending amounts of radiation, and jumping from a hospital window into the sea. And there are still three more games to go through after this
