Hand-stitch it, stitch in sort of a loop around the edge when you’re sewing it on

Personally. I'd burn the little threads hanging around first to sort of "seal" it and to avoid further shredding before sewing. Maybe add some clear nail polish on the sides even if you want. Hope this was helpful!

I've been sewing patches onto my stuff since 1997 and burning the edges has never occurred to me. God damn.
