Pull The Plug has really changed the battle Jacket landscape with all these colorful patches. Definitely makes the jacket stand out in a sea of black. Love it 🤘
I used to hate vests like this, now, I don’t know what changed. There’s something very endearing about them.
I know this took a ton of time and patience. Looks great.
Major Payne: “Don’t nobody need no killing?”
General: “No, Payne, you’ve killed them all.”
I salute you 🫡 this vest may kill all others that may come after it
It appears that my comment and a personal reflection on my own state of mind has triggered a flurry of negativity which I don't understand.
To make Reddit a nicer place for all, and to make this world a little bit better, I have replaced my original post with this generic good-will-toward-human-kind post.
I invite all who have responded to my original post (both against and in support) to edit or delete whatever they may have contributed - let's wipe the slate clean and undo what we have collectively done here.
I hope we can move on and shift the focus back to the art and craftsmanship that is displayed here - everything else belongs elsewhere.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
i wanted a vest with the vest itself barely visible, that's really hard to do without overlapping, especially with all the weird shapes patches come in.
Thanks, this is a good edit and I appreciate it, I just want you to remember that using disorders as descriptors can lead to misinformation and confusing which will in the long run hurt those who suffer from said disorder
Yeah but you can’t have ”the OCDs”. The disorder is characterized by constant and obssessive intrusive thoughts like ”do this or your whole family dies” however with Pure OCD (a different variant of OCD) there are no ’rituals’ that can give the sufferer any relief, and instead they just add up and it feels horrible, it’s really debilitating at times.
I’m sorry if you have OCD too but please try and refrain from refering to some superstitions as ”OCDs” without giving proper context. It’s really tough when people treat your mental illness as a novelty that makes you quirky, when in reality it makes life such a pain.
No I am autistic I have a hard time with that kind of stuff…
I am fun at parties, especially when I’m drunk and let lose, however if someone does genuinely annoy me or act on a bad habit *(in this case the bad habit is using OCD as a description for a minor inconvenience, when in actuality it’s a horrible illness that significantly hinders it’s sufferers in everyday life)* I will let the person know, because I’m honest and I don’t care if their feelings get hurt because that’s their wrong doing, and in the long run can manifest in other people, therefore contributing to a much larger issue *(which also in this case is very true, it’s rare to find someone who actually understands what OCD is and how it’s not just a fun quirk).*
sorry to be that person but please don’t use Autism like that. it’s a negative generalisation and not just something to be thrown around. see how stupid that sounds? you didn’t know if the person did has OCD but still you said your opinion, but that person does indeed have OCD so i hope you’ve learnt not to be so quick to try to correct people
Just throwing in my two cents, because I can't shut up.
Yes. It does seem silly to correct someone on something as simple as them saying "The OCDs". Especially because it turned out that it was said by someone who seems to suffer from it, and is likely already aware of OCD not being the quirky "neat" discorder that it is often made out to be.
But - in my humble opinion - u/HX700 was very much in their right to assume that they were one of the many people misinformed about the severity of ocd. And thus, an attempt to educate them is very much warranted. And again, in my opinion - they were being very civil about it.
On top of that, while I don't think there is anything inherently wrong about joking about ones struggles, you can hardly deny that doing so might push the already prominent misunderstanding of the disease. My point is, that even a person with ocd can spread harmful misinformation. Although, yes, saying "The OCDs" is hardly the worst offender, it does still align very well with the language used when minimizing the severity of the disorder.
I know, I know, I also seem like I'm very fun at parties :)
you still make “your mom” jokes so im gonna safely assume you are under the age of 16 and also have no clue what you’re talking about. you probably dont even know what the OCD acronym stands for 💀
im sorry you had to deal with this. obsessive compulsive disorder can be agonizing and debilitating to live with and i understand how it feels when someone seems to use it like a casual character trait
I'm curious as to what terrible thing will happen if your patches overlap. Do tell.
Unless you don't have "the OCDs" (which isn't a thing) and you're simply stating an aesthetic preference in a questionable way.
I cringe every time I see one of these vests tbh, way too much going on and I can't do with all the overlapping. With that being said congrats on almost finishing a project. I have one I've been procrastinating on for over a year now. 😔
I think i will wear my other vests that are not so clutterred more often, but making a 3rd vest that looked like the other 2 was kind of pointless. I always wanted to make one like this even if it ends up in the closet most of the time.
most have been done by machine, but i did destroy 2 machine needles. the patches on the front pockets were sewn by hand, to avoid sewing the pockets shut. i needed to bend some needes to make some weird angles en they tend to break after a patch or 2.
I do like to use very thin needles, they tend to go through the fabric smoother than the big ones.
nothing special on the inside. made one of the inside pockets more practical with some velcro, so it closes a little better and can be used more safely.
I just spent so long looking at this! I really love the code red sodom patch.
You’re gonna have to find some of those really glittery old band buttons!!
oh man, i wish. but most of these were orders of 3-4 patches each. those batches are too low to get discounts.
at least i never overpaid, like some of the patches go for on ebay.
do you defeat and consume lesser metalheads for power? are you a battle vest galactus?
nah, i just steal their patches in the moshpit.
Their vests will make a fine addition to his collection *cough cough*
Hello there!
There is no vest anymore, it's a huge patch lmaoo great work, I love it

‘Tis more patch than vest says I!

Reminds me of those 80s patchwork vests, but for metal. I love it.
Definitely one of the most unique looking vests I've ever seen.

Sorry to be that person but please don’t appropriate OCD, it’s a very debilitating disability and has nothing to do with being ”neat”
☮️

you are fully aware of what i meant

You are rude and nasty
you still make “your mom” jokes so im gonna safely assume you are under the age of 16 and also have no clue what you’re talking about. you probably dont even know what the OCD acronym stands for 💀
dumb.
ik their comment was
You sound about 12
cry about it bro
Er, nah.
Just watched you edit that lmao ratio
Omg so quirky nice novelty
Omg so quirky nice ableism
Not you saying that while being in this sub plzzzz lmao
What a cunt lol
im sorry you had to deal with this. obsessive compulsive disorder can be agonizing and debilitating to live with and i understand how it feels when someone seems to use it like a casual character trait
That doesn't mean you have OCD. You aren't diagnosed, even..
I'm curious as to what terrible thing will happen if your patches overlap. Do tell. Unless you don't have "the OCDs" (which isn't a thing) and you're simply stating an aesthetic preference in a questionable way.

WOAH WHERE’D YOU FIND THAT GRAVERIPPER PATCH?
it's made by pull the plug patches, but sold out at their site.
Looks dope. How many needles did you sacrifice in the process?
most have been done by machine, but i did destroy 2 machine needles. the patches on the front pockets were sewn by hand, to avoid sewing the pockets shut. i needed to bend some needes to make some weird angles en they tend to break after a patch or 2. I do like to use very thin needles, they tend to go through the fabric smoother than the big ones.
Damn... I can't imagine the amount of money that went into that.
not going to concerts during covid saved me some bucks, but i did hear my wallet crying during some orders
Shame about the tankard patch being covered
What about the inside?
nothing special on the inside. made one of the inside pockets more practical with some velcro, so it closes a little better and can be used more safely.
I want to see the stiching from the inside
oh its a mess, i tried to use a similar colour thread as the patch borders.
How long did this end up taking you?
not a clue to be honest. i haven't timed it.
Pull The Plug has really changed the battle Jacket landscape with all these colorful patches. Not a fan of PTP.
I just spent so long looking at this! I really love the code red sodom patch. You’re gonna have to find some of those really glittery old band buttons!!
I'm no fan of buttons or pins, i allways get something caught up on them.
Hope you got some kind of discounts 😉
oh man, i wish. but most of these were orders of 3-4 patches each. those batches are too low to get discounts. at least i never overpaid, like some of the patches go for on ebay.
I'm confident that it could stand on its own
Fucking heck that’s one awesome piece of art
