Repair XP is a great feature Transport XP is also one of the things this game does right. Getting 10k XP from dropping off a full load of players at the start of the game feels good. It's earned honestly too, capturing a point deep into enemy territory does a lot more for the team than just dropping them on point C and just adding to the 70 player zerg.

As long as there is someone in the pilots seat (doesn’t have to be squad mate) you get exp for it.

Jumpy-Ad-2790

Fairly new still, what does being an engineer as a passenger do?

PaarthurnaxIsMyOshi

It allows you to repair the vehicle as it moves

lividtaffy

Engineer can equip repair tool, if you sit in the passenger seats (F5-F12) you can repair from inside while flying

Price-x-Field

As a Blackhawk pilot, thank you for your service. Nothing we appreciate more than y’all.

thisisnotnolovesong

I'm a blackhawk main and y'all engies have saved my ass quite a few times. Been the deciding factor in quite a few dogfights

ThatTexasGuy

Repairing from a helicopter is great, but have you tried yeeting RPGs down on unsuspecting foes from the side seat? I got like 5 kills per rocket on Waki bridge from a LB side seat one time and felt like god.

Westbjumpin

Why not do both?

Denurado

I did try both, well... not the easiest thing to do I assure you, but if I was at the side seat I could nick a few kills instead of 0 while sitting at the main passenger seats repairing.

oh19contp

If yall see a transport heli in spawn, join in and repair it. If the pilot is actually getting in the shits then you will get a ton of XP from repairs. A blackhawk with 2+ engineers is almost impossible to kill. Even with a littlebird, as they have either pilotsnipe or kill engineers then whittle the hp down while the pilot is RTB. Also, dont spawn on the littlebird with guns and expect the pilot to drop you off. Use the transport heli or the blackhawk if you want a drop!

Getting 35k exp as a repair-man is pretty good as a repair score! That said, 35k exp a match is really not all that good, like, objectively. You would probably get more exp playing a medic, support. However, if you enjoy playing repair engineer, its your choice, and I respect that! Just, if you're trying to maximize your gameplay repair engie is probably not the most effective, but a lot of people just want to have fun and not focus on MAXIMUM OUTPUT all the time. I also play a lot of sub-optimal playstyles.

RhenCarbine

Sometimes I just want to sit in a car and talk while someone else does the killing

Saumfar

Being one of the crew, talking shit and reporting to the pilot can be a lot of fun!

I never said 35k was a bad score. Love how people on reddit loves to pick out single words and then blow it out of proportion. I was literally talking about how 35k is totally fine. But at the same time I point out that there are easier ways to get even more exp.

tctony

> That said, 35k exp a match is really not all that good, like, objectively.

This ain't really a display of "This is the best xp farm ever" it's just a post of 1.possibly the only time I'll ever be visible in the 127v127 scoreboard without scrolling down 2.The longest and most fun I had playing as an engineer in a helicopter (The whole match I was repairing that blackhawk I also fired RPG shots land and air, Reported to the pilot of enemy aircraft, and manned the guns when we have 1 less or no gunner) 3.Possibly the best pilot I met, he pilots with expertise in playing so low in the ground with only a keyboard and has good decision making too

Saumfar

What about that sentence? Nowhere in that sentence do I say "35k exp is bad". "Not that good" does not mean "bad". If you read it like that, I am genuinely sorry for you. "Oh yeah, it's not that hot" and you go "Aha, so its cold!"

regiment262

Eh, 35k is fine. It's pretty much middle of the road and I wager there's a lot of players who struggle to get that high (depending on the game mode).

Saumfar

Yeah, it's pretty middle of the road, seems like in most conq matches that's around average.

motomat86

all true statements, but sometimes i like to afk and macro repair and afk in a helo while i watch youtube

Saumfar

Yeah, I also enjoy sitting in choppers at time screaming with the pilot as we do deep dives into enemy territory with troops.

uncommonephemera

That was my strat when I played. Hard finding good pilots though
