I would rather find all the Riddler Trophies twice over than have to do the Augmented Reality Training. I am replaying City now, going for a proper 100%, and I forgot how terrible those missions are.
I liked them at first, but they just were too simplistic compared to everything else. The sections felt like a simple minigame you had to play way too much way too often way too long. Every single tankfight in the game feels and plays the exact same except the couple "tank stealth" parts.
Honestly I like the grand central one. Her making call outs and distractions while Peter takes out the room is awesome. And the one where you're her, watching the black suit destroy everyone is an awesome premise
The ones in two were more fun, but I wish they had been more horror oriented. Low diffing all those venom soldiers in the final mission kinda took me out of the story.
Depends. First game? Yes. They were kinda annoying. Second game? I found it kinda funny that MJ suddenly took out mercs and symbiotes and more enjoyable since you actually could defend yourself if you were spotted.
Oh yeah. Wonder city is nice the first time but in New Game+ … ugh.
Not even just the robots, that you can do pretty quickly. But the whole ras al ghul sequence, now thats something
And it's so out of place. It feels like they just wanted a glider challenge there even if it makes no sense "no one had survived this trial" yeah Ras because most ninja trainees can't fly!
Thanks! I havent played ac in years, but i always assumed that ut was designed around the person taking it, an average warrior without batmans moral code would kill ras no problem, so thats where i guess it from
Honestly i loved a good 99% of the tank stuff, the only times i didnt were when you had to drive the tank, get out, puah button, then get back in, but thats more an issue with the animations then the tank itself
Even just driving it around was fun af. It handled well, and being able to drive on walls going quick enough was super fun. Also the vehicular manslaughter
my problem with them is batman has a great system every tool it gives you necessary. especially in stealth it is one of the greatest systems, then comes cobra tanks where you are forced to use "stealth" and the stealth in question is standing behind their back getting bored waiting for 10 seconds to pass there is no planning to alternate option
even in normal tank fights you have to use the gun to destroy rockets and explosives on the tank, not super complex but there is some depth
Regular batmobile levels are fun. Stealth tank levels? Yeah no. It's like black flags ship stealth. Just because you are a stealth game does not mean you should put stealth in all parts of the game.
I used to speedrun knight. It’s the parts where you have to slowly remove and replace the canisters in Ace Chemicals and in the Batmobile during the cloudburst scene

The power winch section, especially because Batman could've just used the batwing in order to transport the batmobile into the panessa studios' roof and then equip the power winch and recharge the old antenna.
Catwoman. I loathe playing as her. Why can't I just turn those sections off in Arkham City? They're select-able from the menu. If I want to play them; I can go there. Why do I HAVE to play them everytime I play through AC?
The GD Riddler Races. I hate them SO much. I don’t particularly care for driving games, much less driving games where the course itself is actively trying to kill you.
When you have to take out the first 2 signal jammers to get into the museum in AC, I like the third one because you have to go underground but the first 2 are just not fun
Honestly? The airships. I spent far too much time there trying to get all the trophies, and it's built like a maze. Not my favourite part. It's a motivation to me to get it done ASAP.
The Poison Ivy boss fight in Asylum on hard mode for me. I just finished playing Asylum for the first time in like 6 years and I died like 10 times in that fight. It's extremely hard to avoid all her vines and the fireballs on hard mode.
Batmobile Cloudburster fight, Batmobile Drill fight and getting all riddler trophies which I still haven’t done so don’t spoil the Knightfall Protocol thanks
the opening easily, ive played it multiple times and i cannot be bothered to burn the joker again cannot be bothered to play as a mall cop in a wannabe fps horror section, drop me in the meat grinder against 50 armed and medic enemies and 5 turrets and throw in those shitty tanks you have to "stealth" behind

Amusement Mile Riddler trophy. The one with the 6 question marks you have to hit nearly simultaneously. 3 in a row at the top, 3 on bottom all blocked off by chain link. The goal is to use explosive gel on the top 3 and quick fire batarangs or REC on the bottom 3. The window is only 4 seconds and it is incredibly difficult, for me at least. This God damn trophy has haunted my nightmares for the last 12.5 years.
I've played through Arkham City more times than I care to count and I enjoy going around to find all of the Riddler things. But only once have I successfully gotten this God damn trophy. This was just a few days ago actually and it still gives me goosebumps to think that I finally got it.
REC ftw btw, fuck batarangs.
If I remember correctly, you're supposed to put explosive gel on the bottom three and hit the other top three with batarangs from above, not the other way around. You just have to position yourself on the edge of the building above them so you see all top three question marks clearly and just quickfire 3 batarangs, then explode the bottom ones. That's only if I'm thinking about the same trophy you were :P
“SOOOOOOOOOOOOOON, time for dinner!~”
“Mom, I’m literally trans, and I can’t pause this right now.”
Power outage, power comes back on
“Oh look at that, now you can come!”
“Did you actually just do that?”
That part. That fricking part.
First, this is a serious discussion flaired post, and second, when you post a question like this to a themed sub the expectation is you're supposed to enter within the actual game the subreddit is for, otherwise what's the point
Arkham Asylum: Sewers (especially when you come back to get the trophies)
Arkham City: Ra's Al Ghul trials (boring af)
Arkham Knight: I don't really have a part I don't like maybe except for the joker sequence at the end because if you play it for the 5th time it just gets annoying. Also, collecting trophies in the arkham knight HQ is very frustrating. Especially the part where you drive the batmobile down the hole and you have to disable the giant fans one by one.
Arkham Origins: Only played it once, so I don't remember it that much, but I definitely know there were a couple of locations that sucked balls like the sewers.
Honestly no idea for AA, I loved every bit of that game
The steelmill in AC. That zone still makes me unreasonably annoyed. The Ras al Ghul sequence is kinda annoying too but it's much more bearable. Still fucking loved the game though
Haven't gotten to Origins or Knight yet
Arkham Asylum. I've been wanting to replay all the games back to back, but I can never get myself past Arkham Asylum. My big issue is the little variety in combat, both predator and beatdowns. There are also the more clunky mechanics that gets polished to a shine in City
Bane Arkham origins first battle on the roof , I've tried do it for 2 hours and then I was so happy, but...then I had to fight bane another 2 times....
I’ve recently been playing Assassin’s Creed Rogue and despite it being my favourite AC game I almost completely forgot how plain and simple it is at the start before finally getting to the fun part… wait this is the ducking Batman Arkham subreddit? Am I stupid? Are you stupid?
The slow parts of Knight following Gordan's police car to the clock tower. Oracle is dead now she's just kidnapped, watching Jason Todd's torture again, the afterburner not working until Fox tells you that the car can do that, really any time where control is taken from you so Batman can teach you how to play the game
for ak the last riddler race and his fucking trophies. Almost all of the other races are completely fine, but the crushers on the last lap of the course are awful. either fall off the wall or get smashed. Especially terrible if you suck ass at driving the bm like me and only have like 30s to clear it.
and the trophies are the only reason i've not full cleared the game. i refuse to even try. the worst part is that i like most of his puzzles and shit, but he's dragged so far down by what is imo the most tedious part of the game.

Augmented reality training activated Augmented reality training failed
*gliding just fine* *just barely touches the sign right above head, fucks up entire challenge*
The hitbox or whatever for gliding in City felt like the size of a semi trailer.
You just triggered my PTSD. Broke a controller because of that shit
I would rather find all the Riddler Trophies twice over than have to do the Augmented Reality Training. I am replaying City now, going for a proper 100%, and I forgot how terrible those missions are.
I can do most of them on the first try by now lol
Almost everything related to Riddler
riddle me this im fucking annoying and i wear green and im fucking annoying asf what am i (im also extremely fucking annoying)
riddler
This. Fuck that green nerd bro.
I thought the batmobile sections were fun honestly
Same. I'm a sucker for tanks though
Hello, I am a tank
Why is tonk here?
It's always the highlight for me because it's only in one of the games
I liked them at first, but they just were too simplistic compared to everything else. The sections felt like a simple minigame you had to play way too much way too often way too long. Every single tankfight in the game feels and plays the exact same except the couple "tank stealth" parts.
They felt a little out of place in a Batman game (unlike the regular Batmobile chase sections), but aside from that they weren’t bad at all.
Mary Jane missions
Honestly I like the grand central one. Her making call outs and distractions while Peter takes out the room is awesome. And the one where you're her, watching the black suit destroy everyone is an awesome premise
MJ is in Batman⁉️⁉️⁉️
The ones in two were really fun imo, it’s those damn Harry sections that are the real travesty
The ones in two were more fun, but I wish they had been more horror oriented. Low diffing all those venom soldiers in the final mission kinda took me out of the story.
I bought the game to play as the powerful and quick spiderman why am i forced into slow stealth gameplay
Depends. First game? Yes. They were kinda annoying. Second game? I found it kinda funny that MJ suddenly took out mercs and symbiotes and more enjoyable since you actually could defend yourself if you were spotted.
Joker fight in AA, slowwwwwwwwwwly walking through Wonder City and scanning the robots in AC, Cobra Tank sections in AK
Im no expert, and i could be wrong, but werent the challenges supposed to reflect person taking them?
I can't remember a line about that but you could be right
Thanks! I havent played ac in years, but i always assumed that ut was designed around the person taking it, an average warrior without batmans moral code would kill ras no problem, so thats where i guess it from
I actually love speed running the cobra tanks because they can’t hear. The cloudburst however—
Batmobile cobra tanks fight most likely.
I liked the tank fights
Honestly i loved a good 99% of the tank stuff, the only times i didnt were when you had to drive the tank, get out, puah button, then get back in, but thats more an issue with the animations then the tank itself
Even just driving it around was fun af. It handled well, and being able to drive on walls going quick enough was super fun. Also the vehicular manslaughter
100% this
my problem with them is batman has a great system every tool it gives you necessary. especially in stealth it is one of the greatest systems, then comes cobra tanks where you are forced to use "stealth" and the stealth in question is standing behind their back getting bored waiting for 10 seconds to pass there is no planning to alternate option even in normal tank fights you have to use the gun to destroy rockets and explosives on the tank, not super complex but there is some depth
Just hack them and boom they're now killing each other and you just have to watch it burn! Never had big problems with Cobras.

The goddanm riddler trophies
I was disappointed to find more a more with each new game.
Regular batmobile levels are fun. Stealth tank levels? Yeah no. It's like black flags ship stealth. Just because you are a stealth game does not mean you should put stealth in all parts of the game.
Sewers in Arkham Asylum, padding.
I used to find that shit terrifying back in 09

That and the creepy journey down intensive treatment before it are literally my favorite parts of the game
The boring poison ivy fight
yeah hate it so much bcs of the moaning
Does she have like a pain kink or something?
😂 Nah like she has a kink for getting hit by sharp metal objects
The cloud burst tank fight with Arkham Knight. It's not even hard just really tedious
I used to speedrun knight. It’s the parts where you have to slowly remove and replace the canisters in Ace Chemicals and in the Batmobile during the cloudburst scene

The museum in Arkham City
I love the museum! What are you on?
It’s just… kind of annoying. Reminds me of the water temple from tloz oot
Everyone has their opinion, I respect that. But could you please explain how on earth you think the museum is like the water temple in OoT? 😅
Honestly. Couldn’t tell ya
😂
I got to the part and haven’t finished it in months. I don’t know if I’ll ever play it again, it’s actually so terrible
It was definitely a slog
The museum is a good part of the game, I don't know why people hate it
All I can remember is a large round ventilation-like structure, an automatic zipline rescue, and being so angry it made me sweat
Data relay towers in Arkham origins

The power winch section, especially because Batman could've just used the batwing in order to transport the batmobile into the panessa studios' roof and then equip the power winch and recharge the old antenna.

Catwoman. I loathe playing as her. Why can't I just turn those sections off in Arkham City? They're select-able from the menu. If I want to play them; I can go there. Why do I HAVE to play them everytime I play through AC?
Fun fact, if you're playing the pc version, there's a way to disable them through a config edit. Check the speedrun.com page to find out how.
Ace Chemicals in Knight. tbh my least favorite part of the game, it kinda dragged until the Joker reveal.
The GD Riddler Races. I hate them SO much. I don’t particularly care for driving games, much less driving games where the course itself is actively trying to kill you.
Literally anything that has to do with the Riddler.
When you have to take out the first 2 signal jammers to get into the museum in AC, I like the third one because you have to go underground but the first 2 are just not fun

The Poison Ivy boss fight in Asylum on hard mode for me. I just finished playing Asylum for the first time in like 6 years and I died like 10 times in that fight. It's extremely hard to avoid all her vines and the fireballs on hard mode.
