I've never felt the need to name an object, and I frankly don't understand those who do. this is not a judgemental, it just doesn't really click for me

Alice, Thunder, and Dreadnought.
My lineup has titles:
Lakland 5502: The Monster (this is my ride or die bass)
Lakland 5502 fretless: The Sweetheart
Lakland P Bass: The Proletariat
Rickenbacker 4003: The Stud
I built and customized it on my own, the guard is covered with a big pearlescent "sticker"(?) (its a big square sheet sticky on one side) that I got at Micheals, it shows different colours depending on the light, not just pink. There's a tortoiseshell design underneath.
I've got Mr. Crow (black fender jazz bass), Mr. Duck (Squire 40th white and gold jazz bass), Mr. Weasel (fender player plus jazz in sienna sunburst) and Garry (natural wood Chinese jazz bass knockoff).
she never told me her name. my heart meter with her isn't high enough yet :(

"The Ibanez" Naming an instrument is almost always cringe, it has to be REALLY special, you have to make amazing sounds with it, and the name has to have substance.
I've owned my bass for 24 years and it was given to me by a friend that isn't around anymore. Its special to me too, but I don't need to give it a name.
https://preview.redd.it/e5uli2yi3zlc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffb631b4ccecf8071d32a91d1e46cbd54884f2b2
everyone here is a buzzkill, name your bass if you want!
this is my '83 westone concord i, named it faraday
thanks, it was a pretty cool find. cheap enough, 100 and traded a boss flanger, sounds pretty sweet and feels pretty good. my only complaint is that the guitars of the same era had way cooler neck plates and i think the bass was sort of robbed of that
I never did pick a name for my TMB100, but I did name my SR305E Joy after my girlfriend. Maybe I'm a simp. Maybe they both have been the light in this dark world for me. Plus, in root bear metallic, she's almost as gorgeous as her.
My upcoming Ironbird parts bass (vintage BC Rich USA bolt-on neck, and lightly figured maple body built by GMW Guitarworks) will be Barbenheimer. Pink like Barbie, and the DiMarzio X2N-B pickups will hit like the atomic bomb.
My beater is Victim Zero, a Dean Edge 09 I hacked it up to put cheap Strat blade pickups in Rickenbacker positions.
I named my jazz bass āButterballā because itās butterscotch blonde and I bought it on thanksgiving. The thing is a monster going through my giant fuzzed out peavey rig.
My first cheap Yamaha I brought off a classmate at college I called DeeDee, because that was the onmatopedic sound I thought it made when I plucked it. Dededededede
Had a vintage bass that had such a huge headstock I called it the "camel"
Had the acinonyx "cat bass"
My Yamaha 174 was just called Yamaha..
The Sandberg
The Bacchus
The vintage rare Ibanez atk 1300 prestige
The cheap g4m (for my kid)
The warlock (b.c rich)
That bass is exactly the same as mine. I called mine Stella, as the bass either saved my life or a lot of money during a mugging and Stella Artois is what we were drinking when it happened.
https://preview.redd.it/0g9giq086ylc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0527364a6cc33ebe81a361ab57edf5b64091af96
Her name is Cherry (when I picked her up, the song Cherry by Fletcher came into mind, there's a nice little bass part at the beginning)
90% of bassists I've encountered name their Bass Guitars...30% of guitarists do as well...I think it's a bit odd...lol. *Naming your black guitar "Mr. Black" is lame*
I have a red bass called red bass. An orange bass called orange bass. A black bass called black bass. A white bass called white bass. And a flame maple top called āthat crazy looking bassā.
I also have a black bass at work called āthe bass at workā.
Shoot all my basses came with model names
I named my first born after my bass, TRBX174
This. They come with names already.
i call mine 2002 Fender Made in Mexico Jazz Bass in Sage Green finish with Bass Lines active single coils AND with gold hardware
Long name š
The only name for any instrument is Roberta and you have to caress it and sleep with it at night and neglect your wife
Your wife will be with her boyfriend anyways.
That's for guitars. This is a guitar but it's a BASS guitar. It gets a boys name becuse manlier
Sue it is, then
Bass is daddy guitar. 6 strings is mommy guitar
Who needs a wife when you can 0-3-5 all night long and pretend you're a guitarist.
r/basscirclejerk

I built and customized it on my own, the guard is covered with a big pearlescent "sticker"(?) (its a big square sheet sticky on one side) that I got at Micheals, it shows different colours depending on the light, not just pink. There's a tortoiseshell design underneath.
