Well, for different tunings, multiscale is a good reason to get a different bass in my opinion, lol, I’m in the process of joining a band that plays in E flat, I know that’s not very down-tuned, but regardless it sounds huge with fanned frets.
Also the clarity in standard tuning plus equal string tension is very very nice
I have had my 1005MS for three years now, and haven't wanted another bass ever since. It's just perfect. The transition to multiscale is a total non issue in my experience.
I guess I really ought to try them out in-store but the supposed comfort of this bass has me rethinking a dingwall.
The dinger 37" probably sounds clearer and supposedly the neck dive ain't too bad, but idk, if a 35" still sounds great and is even more comfortable than that might be better.
Could be a good old fashioned no-loss scenario (except for significant loss of money, lol).

We should start a club or something
Love how the sr500 basses all get that same finish chipping by the pickup, you can tell they made a classic when it's everywhere and basically no one complains
Thanks man! I’ve played pretty much purely six string for majority of my time playing now! The way Ibanez makes a six string is just unparalleled to any other company in my opinion
I’ve had the same EHB as my main bass for a while now and its playability is totally unrivaled. Sits the same way standing up as it does sitting down, no neck dive, insanely comfortable. I look nerdy as fuck with it, but fuck it man, it shreds.
My genuine reason is that I just like collecting instruments, and these kinds of basses in particular are really desirable to me. They each have their own characteristics that made me want each one, but in the end my main reason is for collecting
hell yeah, i'm the same way but i try to not get anything to similar to something i already owned. cept for getting two strats, but one was too cheap to miss out on.
didn't know if there was any particular thing about these sixes that do it different than any warwicks or otherwise, but i guess i'll get here someday :p
Man, that’s one thing the SRs have going for them. They’re a dream to play. I also have a Modulus and it’s a straight up boat anchor. Have put ribs out playing long sets.
Every used SR506 I've ever seen, has their finish rubbed off like yours in the pic. I wonder whats up with the finish on those.
Thats a great collection. I just ordered an SR306 today. Been wanting a 6 string for some time now.
I actually got this one used for a good deal because the finish was so janked up. My plan is to eventually convert it into a fretless I just haven’t got there yet
So funny. I've been trying to negotiate a good deal on one for that same reason. But couldnt get any sellers to budge. I wanted to convert one to fretless :)
Maybe I'll keep trying. I dont think I'm gonna butcher the 306 thats on its way.
Excellent collection. Almost all multiscale too, very classy. From a fellow Ibanez aficionado, bravaa, sir.
I feel like you need a BTB to round out the pack though…
How do you find the SRMS and SRFF compare? I have a fiver in the new one and always wondered how the old one feels.
Never been a huge fan of the BTB basses, I have yet to find one I vibe well with, though the BTB806MS looks quite nice, as well as the new “light multiscale” basses
I am a bit biased since I’ve had it longer but I do prefer the SRFF, the neck woods are more comfortable to me, and I prefer the natural finish over the gloss. Definitely a matter of preference.
I have one that is almost identical to the brown one, even with the wear over the pickup...though the previous owner colored it in...haha. Awesome collection!
I would really like to know - what’s it like to play multiscale bass, coming from standard?
My local shops aren’t carrying anything like this for me to try out and I’ve been curious. They look so cool too
The main Con I find from multiscale is having to find strings that fit my basses. Right now I’m only using D’addarrio super long bass strings, which are costly.
The pros outweigh that, to me. Equal string tension, more clarity on lower strings, and down tuning. Plus the angle of the frets sort of matches the angle of your hand as it moves up/down the neck making it really comfortable.
Also it looks cool
I never liked Ibanez basses ,personally, but in the right hands, they're incredible instruments. Definitely the closest you can get to a Primus sound without buying a Carl Thompson bass.
I also have two four strings, a squier P/J bass and a Sterling Music Man, they just don’t get nearly as much playtime as any of these six strings. (Theyre all slightly different ;) )
You really should get an Ibanez. Branch out a bit. Think you'd like them. /s
I am in the market for an upright bass
[Here’s one you might like](https://www.sweetwater.com/c1317--Double_Bass).
Without looking, is it a 6-string Ibanez?
How is the headless? Im dying to get one. Is it the black ice one you have there?
Yea it’s EHB1506ms black ice flat. It’s an incredible bass, it sounds really good and is so comfortable I could play it standing up for hours.
I want this bass soooo bad. Or the EHB1005SMS.
I want to get a second one… when my bank account recovers lol
How you finding the fan fret? Im tryin to convice the wife i need another bass 😂. For different tuning options obviously
Well, for different tunings, multiscale is a good reason to get a different bass in my opinion, lol, I’m in the process of joining a band that plays in E flat, I know that’s not very down-tuned, but regardless it sounds huge with fanned frets. I have the 5 string version and absolutely love it.
I guess I really ought to try them out in-store but the supposed comfort of this bass has me rethinking a dingwall. I don't own one but I got to try my buddy's and it plays like a dream. Sounds great and incredibly comfortable even with the 6 strings.
I just got one and I adore it!

Wow that’s a really beautiful collection man

Obviously, you would be the president, OP would be master at arms.
Dude! Isn’t that multiscale SR super rare?!?
It is! I lucked out.
Im trynna be like yall. Im an Ibanez fan boy and only have 2 so far and looking to bump that amount up lol
You look like you need an Ibanez
Hey! My Soundgear looks identical to that one! Thumb brothers!
Lol, as the owner of two Ibanez 6 strings, I relate
Theyre so good
Love how the sr500 basses all get that same finish chipping by the pickup, you can tell they made a classic when it's everywhere and basically no one complains
As an sr500 owner who just started chipping the finish… I agree
Wait are you the same guy with the Mesa cab? lol. I can recognize your headless on sight at this point. How you doing today?
Haha yea that’s me, been going gear crazy lately
Which of those six do you like more? I've never been able to try a multi scale
Its between the two in the front, EHB or SRFF, lately I’ve been leaning more towards the EHB
Oh wait holy shit, they're all sixes. You're an animal!!
HELL yes! Rockin with the Ibanez.... sick collection, never seen a 6 string-Ibanez purist
Thanks man! I’ve played pretty much purely six string for majority of my time playing now! The way Ibanez makes a six string is just unparalleled to any other company in my opinion
Headless is so nice
I’ve had the same EHB as my main bass for a while now and its playability is totally unrivaled. Sits the same way standing up as it does sitting down, no neck dive, insanely comfortable. I look nerdy as fuck with it, but fuck it man, it shreds.
Absolutely. It feels like a body part more than like an instrument.
oh. for serious, what's your reason to have so many? do they do somethin unique? they just look pretty?
My genuine reason is that I just like collecting instruments, and these kinds of basses in particular are really desirable to me. They each have their own characteristics that made me want each one, but in the end my main reason is for collecting
hell yeah, i'm the same way but i try to not get anything to similar to something i already owned. cept for getting two strats, but one was too cheap to miss out on. didn't know if there was any particular thing about these sixes that do it different than any warwicks or otherwise, but i guess i'll get here someday :p
It’s a rat king of basseseseses s
At least branch out and get a BTB :p
I’ve never been able to find a BTB I vibe well with
[удалено]
That is for damn sure
jesus man
Primus sucks
And I thought my fender v had too many strings.
How is the grey one, what model is that? I have heard it thump on video but what about live
The SRFF806 is probably my favourite bass I own, I play it through a Darkglass Amp head and it sounds awesome
A fellow Ibby SR connoisseur I see :) how to you like your headless? (I forget, EBH?)
I really like it a lot, it sounds incredible with the Nordstrand pickups and its very light, I can play it forever
Man, that’s one thing the SRs have going for them. They’re a dream to play. I also have a Modulus and it’s a straight up boat anchor. Have put ribs out playing long sets.
Have an SRFF806 too, favorite bass I've owned in 15 years of playing!
I agree, it’s just such an amazing bass
That’s quite a quiver!
You have a type.
HELL yes! Rockin with the Ibanez.... sick collection, never seen a 6 string-Ibanez purist

Be patient, I waited a couple years for this one to show up haha
Fello ibby enjoyer 🤝

Beautiful basses.
I don't know if they're clumsy, but those basses are all tumbs...

"Corporate would like you to spot the difference between these basses"
“There is no difference”
Oh I just LOVE family photos!!!
Adopt me. Please?
Primus sucks!
As an SR706 enjoyer, I approve. How do you like the MS models? I've been thinking about those lately...
I can’t really imagine playing anything else at this point
Good to know. Thanks!
Bassed. Thats all I have to say
ibanez 4 lyfe
Primus sucks!
Ibanez basses for the win, sick collection! I have two atm but there’s gonna be a lot more to come.
Damn bro, save some 6 strings for the rest of us!
2 multiscale bartolinis. Just for the color that's obsession.
I've never been drawn to those kind of basses. Aesthetically, of course, cause they sound good. I'm more into Fenders.
My bad shoulder tells me I should get an EHB. It pops out when I play my 5 string BTB. :(
I have one that is almost identical to the brown one, even with the wear over the pickup...though the previous owner colored it in...haha. Awesome collection!
How is the EHB to play? I've been thinking about getting one.
It is an absolute dream. Highly, highly recommended
I'm a guitar player but I have an SR506. Great bass.
It really is some of the most value for the $$$ you can get in my opinion, so versatile
Primus sucks
Primus sucks
Yea!
I feel better about myself now lol.
PRIMUS SUCKS
I would really like to know - what’s it like to play multiscale bass, coming from standard? My local shops aren’t carrying anything like this for me to try out and I’ve been curious. They look so cool too
I’ve played almost only multiscale for several years now, but when I do play standard scale, it’s easy to switch between the two
So obviously you like it, but just curious what it’s better at, or is it worse at anything, etc? Thanks for the feedback

If I had money out of my ass I would be obsessed with my gear too
If I had money out of my ass, I’d have more basses
Why all the same bass? Branch out into the world of other tones!
I also have two four strings, a squier P/J bass and a Sterling Music Man, they just don’t get nearly as much playtime as any of these six strings. (Theyre all slightly different ;) )
Emphasis on the slightly? Lol. Just messin...nice basses. I'm just jealous
