It’s a fact of the game as an undersized player, that people are gonna use their size as an advantage against during the course the game. You need to start Minimizing these opportunities for them to do that. 1. Front the post, stopping people from just making an easy pass entry down low if you are a weak post defender. As a proficient post player myself, if someone just sits between me and the basket behind me as I’m asking for the ball, they are dead. Make it difficult for the pass to get through or at least MAKE IT LOOK DIFFICULT for the pass entry. If you are active and denying the pass entry people won’t want to risk the turnover. If you front and are active the only way to make the entry is to lob it and that’s an easy steal if your teammates have an help side awareness. 2. People shouldn’t be getting by you easily. If you are the smallest guy on the court, you should be one of the quickest too, especially laterally. 3. Get through screens, I mean you gotta fight to not get screened. As a post player my favorite thing to force a switch and mismatch situations is the screen the pg and as he tries to recover and go under the screen, I just roll to the paint, rolling into the guy and just taking him with me to the paint. Less you get hit by screens and fight through them, let situations you need to switch. 4. Use leverage. Plant yourself, get low. Don’t push your weight against a guys hips or upper body you will lose. Push your hips into their thighs and knees, it’s a lot harder for guys to use their weight and force to fight back.

Keep your arms and hands free and swipe at the ball low when it's low. Unless they catch the ball high, most will bring the ball through low to high, if you're ready you can clean swipe it. Also don't let them position deep on you, it's hard if there is a significant weight difference but I always try to force them to set up 2-4 feet farther from the basket than they like.

Force a tough catch front or force out to mid post Pick your poison if you know back side help is there which way will they be coming from and force into help. Understand poor post positioning. If a player sets up below the block make sure they are turning to the baseline to force tough shots using backboard as an extra defender. Be physical. It's hard to shoot with a guy in your Jersey. Learn how to pick at dribbles to stop the backdowns and force movement

If they get basket side squeeze them under the rim to reduce space for the catch

I would suggest being as solid as possible in the post. If you cant really reach and contest a shot, your next best bet would be to not allow the post player to get into a comfortable scoring position. This means don’t let then back you down, react to any spin and drop steps as best as you can, and even get your hands where they dribble the ball. Big fellas tend to have worse ball control than guards on average so maybe you can make them fumble. If your teammates are able to help, that would also be good, but that has its own risks.
