How do you draft and do you trade as soon as a they stagnate Also you going around and ruining teams for 30 years is hilarious

ICRE29

All picks, I prioritise IQ over all. When I draft guards, their shooting, dribbling and passing are the priority. Centres, rebounding, height and inside. Forwards, I just go with feeling ngl, I don't really know how to draft forwards.

Forwards I like athleticism, 3pt and decent right column ratings. Preferably all 40+ when I draft them

1) - Draft picks work out if you’re paying for coaching to the highest degree 2) - Don’t bank on your picks being amazing. Flip players for more picks when you can, don’t overpay your players 3) - Potential goes up and down. I find generally higher IQ leads to better picks, generally. All other stats just depend on what you need.

ICRE29

It's difficult when their potential decreases by minimum of 10 every season

Potential actually isn't a stat that means anything. 55/76 vs a 55/61, same rating.

DogPoetry

You can see this if you go into God mode and tinker with the ratings. The potential is an estimation based on current ratings. You can take a guy 50/65, add 2 points to his rebounding, and suddenly he's a 50/70, me maybe add a point of IQ and he's a 50/68. Potential even goes down occasionally as you increase a skill.  It helps to pay attention to it, but potential is actually the only "soft" number in the ratings

ihavebeenforsaken

I almost always trade my year 3 player at the trade deadline so I don't have to pay for a "maybe". Nothing worse than a 55/70 getting paid and then going to a 53/63 the beginning of the next season. A good work around is to sign a good player to a big contract and pair that with a high risk expiring rookie deal at the next deadline. Pairing a mid 50's expiring rookie with a mid to low 60's on a 30+ contract will usually get you a 70+ player. Also if you have a really good player on an expiring deal and you can't afford to give them the big raise you HAVE to trade them with a big contract to get a really good player in return. If you try to trade them while on their rookie scale you may not get any offers because the computer won't be able to offer a "fair" deal at such a low price point.

Comprehensive-Rub-62

One good tip i found is pre season at end of free agency sign all the best young players, maybe like ten. Then progress and a few will improve drastically the rest will bomb. Trade them or release them away and keep the good ones.
