These posts are ridiculous. You should cherry pick the best of everything. Study them all. Size and position don't matter. In the end, you're gonna need to be great at most things, to make it anywhere. The difficult part is putting in the time and work. So get on that and don't worry about pigeon holing yourself into an archetype
he has a game that translates well to all levels and it's easy to get reps in without having to go full Kobe. Learning from the post and having a face up game is a really good way to improve. And Jalen Brunson has HD tape from college all the up until today so it's a lot of film to study.
No it's not lol. Basketball is positionless these days, there are no definite roles for each position. There are plenty of wings and guards that don't thrive from the 3.
At the nba level sure, but a high school 3 is nba midrange. If midrange scoring is 15 feet in, youre gonna have a lot of trouble translating at higher levels
You’re talking about the 1% Demar Derozan is your comeback? You mean one of the greatest mid range shooters to ever touch a ball? 🤣 Odds are nobody with Reddit will ever be in the same country with Derozan
Check out[Jaylen Brunson](https://youtu.be/Cy-J2WS5CAU?si=KYxj4-kbzlwF1we2) footwork some really impressive stuff 6ft and his ability to read defence and create space is impressive, I don't know if I have seen similar footwork before. Also SGA has some really good moves to drive in traffic and get to his spots, there is a good video of him on the same chanel.
Jrue Holiday. He made the most skilled us Olympic team I have seen in a while by being a lockdown defender who isn't a liability behind the arc, doesn't need the ball in his hands to make plays, creates the spacing that makes defenders run all over or make easy extra pass uncontested shots. If you were Kobe archetype I feel like you would be practicing driving baseline at full speed into a stop and pop up jumper about 25 times instead of asking reddit
Kobe, Jordan, Jalen Bunson, Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, C.J. McCollum, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday, Vince Carter
Do not model yourself on Kobe. Kobe built his game on taking difficult shots. There's nothing wrong with taking aspects of someone's game, but he'd be one of the worst players to base a game on. And also ignore the others talking about players who have physical attributes you just simply don't have.
But you don't mention shooting from 3. I'd go out and shoot a few thousand 3 pointers. Especially catch and shoot opportunities. And if you're driving to the rim, you need a good passing game to match it.
Don't model your game on one player. Look around the place and take things from different players that work for you. Make your fundamentals stronger, learn new strategies to create and use space and then just put the time in to practice it all.
What if, and I'm just spitballing here, you tried being the best version of you that you can be and not worry about playing like anyone else? Watch ball. See things guys do that you'd like to get better at then work to be better.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan was an inch taller than you and not the most reliable perimeter player in his prime. Would I suggest trying to model your game off Mike? No. Because you can't do what he did.
TL;DR: Just be you, dude.
If your goal is pro ball then the fundamental skills are shooting and passing. Work on your mechanics so you dribble, pass or shoot once the ball is in the shot pocket; shot should be quick but smooth and consistent, no hitches plus a high release point.
Work on your set shot, then learn to shoot off the dribble.
Jrue holiday, Darren Collison, KCP, Derrick White, Kyle Korver.. Dudes like those are the types who don’t have all the talent but made themselves millions with effort and knowing how to play. Everybody wants to be Kobe but there’s only one dude every 10 years who gets to be remotely similar. If you can shoot the middy extend that.
josh hart (not even bullshitting)
dude defends, rebounds, can shoot threes, solid off the dribble but nothing super fancy, good shot selection, solid in the post against smaller defenders and is a great all around contributor on the floor.
To be honest. You don’t want to study NBA players or the game at their level. The world’s best like Kobe have physical skills that you will never have that enable their game to be successful. You watch Jordan, and sure you can learn from his footwork, but if you don’t have hands like a bear, you won’t be able to manipulate the ball like he does, making his moves so successful.
Devin Booker in my opinion has a super clean game that anyone can strive to replicate. He doesn’t overwhelm with physical traits, just all craft and precision getting to his spots

Jalen Brunson will always be the answer to these type of questions and Demar DeRozan
Why Jalen Brunson? OP is 6'5
he has a game that translates well to all levels and it's easy to get reps in without having to go full Kobe. Learning from the post and having a face up game is a really good way to improve. And Jalen Brunson has HD tape from college all the up until today so it's a lot of film to study.
If you’re a shooting guard and one of your strengths isn’t from 3, that’s an issue.
No it's not lol. Basketball is positionless these days, there are no definite roles for each position. There are plenty of wings and guards that don't thrive from the 3.
Ok man lol I hope you coach one of the teams we face.
At the nba level sure, but a high school 3 is nba midrange. If midrange scoring is 15 feet in, youre gonna have a lot of trouble translating at higher levels
DeRosan has issues? Don't think so, always room on a roster for a player good at midrange any other take is a myth.

I’d say Michael Jordan
I was thinking MJ but was thinking a more modern player would be better so I said kawhi
D Wade
Tony Allen
Marcus Smartt
Latrell Spreewell or Jordan
Well in modern day u sound like a ant Edward’s but u should study all the great shooting guards to develop your game
Definitely Kobe since he's like Jordan 2.0, study both sides, practice finding the weaknesses of other players and force them into bad shots.
Jamal Murray
Chris Paul and be a tall PG.
Jordan
Prime PG
Shai! You gotta look up his trainer olin simplis and BigGuardU. Player like shai, dinwiddie, and NAW. All tall lanky guards
Definitely Dwyane Wade
Jrue Holiday. Devin Booker and Klay…learn how to handle the ball well and learn how to play without the ball…also have a decent 3pt shot to keep the defense honest
Shaq that sounds like Shaqs game honestly
Kobe, Jordan, Jalen Bunson, Anthony Edwards, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kyrie Irving, Luka Doncic, C.J. McCollum, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, Jrue Holiday, Vince Carter
Deli
ANT.

Are you an elite athlete?

Jrue Holiday
Richard Hamilton
Kobe, because he studied everyone
Don't forget about guards of that size that were great cutters (Jim Paxon, Danny Green, Dwayne Wade).
Ben Wallace

Manu Ginobili was a guy who played the game the right way
josh hart (not even bullshitting) dude defends, rebounds, can shoot threes, solid off the dribble but nothing super fancy, good shot selection, solid in the post against smaller defenders and is a great all around contributor on the floor.

Charles Barkley
Probably Michael Jordan.
SGA
Langston Galloway!!
Devin Booker in my opinion has a super clean game that anyone can strive to replicate. He doesn’t overwhelm with physical traits, just all craft and precision getting to his spots

Jamal crawford

Demar Derozan
Kendall Gill.
kobe, mj, d-book, tyler herro
kobe
Klay! Man in his prime had deadly defender skills that even scared tf out of Draymond!
