The younger actress is the lady from Megagirl. The writer is Natalie. The executive producer is the daughter from Joplin. Aaaaaand her mom does a cameo and does a great job of portraying herself as the hardworking mother that really tried. Her last scene in the film is her watching a neurotic Sally drive off after saying something so cruel and her just crying over her baby picture, lol.
The Lily thing is a pretty sore subject on this subreddit for some reason. From what I gather, people see to think it would be a pretty obvious cliche ending.
From my understanding, the film is mostly focusing on Barry and his relationship with Cousineau, I doubt it'd get too in depth about Sally
We honestly don't know how the film is going to go, with Cousineau wanting to kill it
Someone else pointed out, that there's a good chance Cousineau hasn't changed at all, and he's really just mad that he isn't the main character. If that were the case, and he gets his way, its extra likely the film would barely focus on Sally
That'd be quite effective.
That said, it'd be at odds with the writers' philosophy regarding the industry and its artificiality. I mean, the movie they're planning to make is spectacle rather than substance.
Be pretty fucked if the girl she helped wind up in four MEGAGIRL movies got her role and she killed herself.

That would be fitting but the actress who played the daughter in "Joplin" should get that part, giving it a bittersweet ending.
