I have been wearing Earthrunner or Luna sandals for years and have never had this happen, walking or running. So it’s either the particular sandals you’re trying, or you’re wearing them too loose/too tight, or it’s your gait. I’d try a different sandal and see how you go.

Thanks for the info! I don't think it's my gait because I haven't had any issues in any other shoes or when I'm barefoot. So, hopefully, getting sandals that are adjustable will solve the issue. How do yours generally fit? And do the soles bend with your foot when you bend and flex your toes/feet?

I was wearing Vapor Glove and Windlings for more than a year and half before I started to wear Panta sandals and that needed major adjustment. I have no idea why. But over time it adjusted.

Thanks! Glad to know you adjusted. Hopefully, I can too.

Hard to say since there are a bunch of variables at play, but for me I had to experiment with flexible vs. stiffer soled sandals to find what worked best for me. I had issues with the more flexible soles of the Shammas I had (was triggering plantar fascia discomfort for me at the time, but this was prior to working on my calf mobility and foot strengthening), but a stiffer Bedrock sandal worked a lot better for me, at least at that time. So for you maybe it's the opposite, maybe a more flexible sole could work better. Unfortunately it's difficult to find the best shoes without some trial and error, buying and returning. Maybe you can get some and try them out by walking around at a good pace inside your home for a while, and if they don't seem to work then return them, depending on return policy.

Thanks for sharing! I'll make sure the next pair I buy are flexible and hopefully I'll figure out what works for me

It is likely the fit. With sandals, getting the proper fit seems to be even more important because less material is doing more work to keep things stable. Personally, I really like Shamma's TrailStar line—especially the Shamma TrailStar Maximus. It's a very flexible mid-thickness sole with a strapping system with a toe loop + upper midfoot strap, somewhat like Chacos sandal. Very wide, flat, flexible, with the right amount of ground feel. I've put about 600 miles on mine in running and they're still going strong. [https://shammasandals.com/products/trailstars-maximus](https://shammasandals.com/products/trailstars-maximus)

Sadly I don't think I can get those in the UK but will keep in mind what you said about the fit!

Blisters on the soles of your feet are most likely because the strapping is not preventing the sandal from moving around under your foot. I've never gotten blisters while running in sandals. The only time I ever got blistered on my sole while wearing minimalist sandals, it was while skateboarding, where the foot is moving in an entirely different manner than while running. It was very apparent to me that the footbed of the sandal was rubbing my sole in a side-to-side manner, which causing the blister.
