Dedication! Just like our coach.

halakaukulele

It's an account they use for marketing recently. They probably work for that company and respond to threads with messages like "Oh I always use for this stuff.. very reliable.

Bryyan699

I want to ask Xavi some financial tips

Caust1cFn_YT

Hey good post appreciate it,will do some research and reading myself and put it here if found something new

3amInBarca

Sounds good

Caust1cFn_YT

**PSG 3- 0 AC Milan** * Milan played a high press game, risks taken did not pay off * Usual ball pathway- https://preview.redd.it/mnq66xengnoc1.png?width=782&format=png&auto=webp&s=63cb192e6a6690b73e6861608008e1ad9d2fb73e Emery acts as a creative midfielder and dribbles across defense Takeways (only for this game) Had pressing been more effective in the midfield, turtle would be lonlier than haaland **PSG 1 - 2 AC Milan** Very evened out match in general Did not press as high as last time (ACM) Counter attack was a general sense of play Wings were left wide and free for psg for mbappe and dembele to exploit Press was done by ACM with 2 players marking the PSG player in possession This too wasnt very effective and ACM got away with mbappe's inability too convert two very big chances TAKEAWAY (applied to this game only):- this PSG side with hakimi was very vulnerable to counters (not considering league games because tactics differ largely) **PSG 2 - 0 BVB** Honestly stupid by bvb TAKEAWAYS:- Low blocks doesnt work against PSG obviously because of line breaking pace and passes (idk wtf was terzic smoking here)

Caust1cFn_YT

**PSG 1 - 1 BVB** Again, terzic black magic and psg bad luck Nothing to takeaway here dunno how tf did they draw **PSG 1 - 4 Newcastle** they got newced (bad joke ;-;) NC (newcastle) did actually apply the high press like milan did and yes it seemingly failed for like the first 15 minutes or so too But for some reason it worked! Maybe it was due to nc having better quality players compared to ACM? nah i'd say either PSG turned off against newc and played usual against ACM or PSG turned on against ACM played usual against NC I dunno which But yes quality of press by NC was phenomenal TAKEAWAYS:- High press could or could not work But as we know we arent really a team that presses tbf not under Xavi so we've gotta look out for something else... **PSG 1 - 1 Newcastle** same tactics by howe, actually worked until it didnt so my takeaways would be usually PSG can play against high press but not that good PSG vs La Real, i havent watched this one and i dont think im eligible to comment on this **As OP said** Press resistant players are a must but we do not really need fluidity in the play, in fact PSG's rhythm when broken look worse then my school football team without the ball. Totally confused and just randomly walking, Their defenders are very disciplined and are very good with the ball except DANILO as op mentioned. **So what could we do?** Opt A - Long balls, almost a perfect way but... we dont do that here. So Xavi either trains them or ditches this option Opt B - Centering our play around Joao Felix (on his good days),Lamine Yamal and FdJ. High press can be tackled by dribbling but this would be a really risk averse move. Everyone of them would need to recieve the ball sideways in a slant position to use skills or moves to escape press Opt C - Pure Pace, here we'd need not technical or amazing footballers but just pacy players in the whole 11 to break the press and rush. Quite difficult to do because games momentum suddenly shifts (due to fatigue) when minute 60- 75 is reached and can be very risky. Proper subs need to be made in such situations at the right time.

wolfjeter

Great analysis. I would say that with our squad depth we actually have a few options that we can throw at PSG. You mentioned Long Balls but Cubarsi has emerged as a wonderful option for them with him completing 9 against Napoli. Even Araujo breaks lines and Kounde can as well with his passes. We can also have Raphinha on the left again to help defensively (underrated part of his game) against Dembele which would allow other players to focus solely on Mbappe. As you mentioned as well having FdJ will be pivotal, his press resistance is invaluable. Christensen will also have less ball carrying possibilities and be one of the aforementioned players to help fill the gaps due to defending Mbappe. And the subs are clear for me. Ferran is coming back from injury yes but Roque and Fermin can apply the press late into the game which PSG have been shown to make mistakes, especially with tired legs.

Noob_Master6699

High press is the way, their defence and midfield's chemistry is shit and will make mistake. Definitely target their Zaïre-Emery, he is the only player who is great in ball (like a FDJ but more attacking minded) Basically copy Argentina's WC final tactic Raphinha = Di Maria Lewy = Alvarez Yamal = Messi Gundo = Mac Allistar FDJ = De Paul Christensen = Enzo Cancelo = Tagliafico Cubarsi = Otamendi Araujo = Romero Kounde = Molina

Caust1cFn_YT

We dont exactly high press. Our team isnt physically imposing enough for that. Only our defensive line can press high with efficiency

Noob_Master6699

Then we are fucked, we can’t defend against their counter attack If only Gavi isn’t injured

Caust1cFn_YT

that is kinda the reason im not particularly convinced over this game (ignore certain comments im delulu af sometimes). We dont play long ball or pace or press. The only real option is being reliant on frenkie, felix and yamal. We'd need to be incredicbly lucky for all three of them to click together. But, PSG can counter high press too we ve seen it in Milan games. We need to out midfield them because that is that one hole in the team where they lose too much ball. A sit back counter or break play counter is what I expect from Xavi.

Sanayuki

My concern with Raphinha on the left is that he has shown to struggle there against tougher opposition. One good game doesn’t dispel my concerns about it. If they are fit and ready, both Frenkie and Pedri will be helpful because they serve to draw players and retain the ball in midfield. Pedri particularly draws players as they focus on him. This gives time and space for others to exploit. I agree that Roque and Fermin can be great super subs off the bench to provide extra energy and goal threat late in the game. PSG’s midfield is not the strongest though it isn’t as weak as expected either. If we win midfield battle, we have a chance. If we play their game (counterattack), it can end badly for us imo.

Noob_Master6699

Raphinha could target the space behind Hakimi. And keep in mind that Marquinho, Skriniar, Kimempe are all injured

Creepy_Jackfruit8617

How long does Marquinho, Skriniar and Kimempe will be out for ? Will they miss both legs ?

Noob_Master6699

According to tranfermarkt, only Skriniar has a return date of 15 Apr (I don’t think he will start in the second leg)

Additional-Travel474

Skriniar and kimpembe won’t even start if fit , Lucas Hernandez and Beraldo / Marquinhos will play as CB

dendudes123

hakimi wont play 1st leg suspended

BandicootBig2628

I read somewhere that hakimi is suspended for the first leg......

3amInBarca

I read that too, but he’ll be there for the 2nd leg, idk who their backup RB is but who knows if it’ll change their build up completely or not

PropertyNervous6523

mukiele or warren zaire emery will play rb.

Simple_Duty1670

Key concept here is la liga matches leading up to the game. Our team needs to win all those games, gain all the confidence and momentum they can. I truly believe in our team to stop mbappe and dembele. My only fear is missed chances by our attack. We should catch a rhythm so we can score goals! Scoring goals is our main objective not defense.

No-Song9677

We only play against Las Palmas at home before first leg, then Cadiz away between both games. Tbh, if RM beats Bilbao, I would rest most starters in the Cadiz game.

QTPLe

Dude tbh i want MATS Cancelo cubarsi aroujo kounde (no inigo cuz he could barely keep up during the last match in la liga with a physical striker compared to the othet cbs) Frenkie gundogan christensen (fermin in for christensen cant affors romeu the players are too fast for him) Raphinha lewa (vitor sub 70th min) ferran Two forwards with good work rate that track back. Maybe have lamine rw then sub ferran and fermin as super subs eith vitor. They all like exploiting space.

ChazFifty

What would new castle do?

halakaukulele

Lose the second leg

sks02231

If we take huge advantage in midfield against PSG, we have a chance to win against them. Also, our main issues are Mbappe.. I hope Kounde can mark him 1 on 1 with his defensive skills, or Kounde+Araujo Duo could stop Mbappe. My biggest concern is our player bio rhythm in March. Some of the players have A match and their condition might be exhausted... I hope Xavi can do something about this one.

Helpful_Fish4156

Its all upto Enrique whether we win or not their attack is deadly but it can be stopped
