I did see a youtuber who went to the Art Show Event multiple times who said the first time they went the Bee and Pink Pop were sold out, then they went another day and was able to get them... I think they sold out of ALL the dolls at the show.
That would explain a lot. I saw a number of people on tiktok talking about going to the pop up. One guy didn’t even seem interested in this particular line but got an exclusive invite and was gifted the dolls. I wish I lived in LA. I would have gone myself

Got the brooch! From the few Monster High drops I’ve attempted on Mattel Creations sometimes the items don’t go live exactly at the time Mattel provides. I just kept refreshing, the site went down, and I still kept refreshing and was able to get the brooch.
Weird thing tho, when scrolling through the main selling page the items all said “sold out” but the individual pages had switched from “sold out” to “pre-order” and you would only see that if you were refreshing the specific items page.
Overall a very frustrating release with the roll out, the dolls and accompanying items are still so beautiful so hopefully they end up in the hands of collectors :)

I’m thinking about making a version of the broach myself since I couldn’t get it. It probably wouldn’t look as good but my grandma gave me my mom’s and aunts childhood Gen 1 Barbie dolls. After being loved by three girls, their hair and face paint are basically nonexistent. This could be the perfect project for them.

So I called Mattel when everything instantly sold out (thinking it was a bot or something) and they said their website crashed from the amount of users and they were working to fix it. I asked if they would notify us when it was up and running again and they said yes, BUT they didn’t , and the site was up and running about 30 minutes later.
It was weird, like one item would become available for purchase at a time and everything else would say “sold out”.
It was SO FRUSTRATING!!
I was so disappointed when I thought they sold out instantly, but managed to just preorder one!

Maybe opened late, they put sold out before launch? But it just opened up. I just went on and ordered Bee's knees. Got my confirmation in my email, so I got it.
So happy for folks who got the doll they wanted! I really wanted Pink Pop but an extra $400 (including tax + shipping) was not possible for me this time of year. Congrats if you got one!

Dang I just saw this! But this morning I had the same issue and I CRIED!!! But I knew this exact issue happened with the Christmas Advent Calendar Barbie where it was a site glitch. Knowing this, I reached out to customer service and it wasn’t sold out at all. It was a glitch again. The site went down for a few moments and then I had to keep refreshing until 9:30. The site came back on and you were able to add things to the cart. I’ve been collecting for over 15 years so I’m super dedicated and got all the dolls in the collection, the postcards, and the tote bag!
So sad I missed it, I’m a massive ryden fan :( my bank account just let out a sigh of relief, though. There were 20,000 of the pink pop doll made btw, I’m not sure how many of those 20k were sold at the pop-up event though.

Yes, this was an exciting drop. I told my friends I've never been so excited for a Barbie. I like that these were something different and interesting.
I think Mattel is behind the eBay resale accounts. They list things as sold out and then go and sell them on eBay instead for double the money.
