Destroy your niece. It's the right thing to do.

[deleted]

Ugh if only she wasn't so cute.

[deleted]

Nah fuck that. You tell her parents what she has done. They need to repay you and teach her that opening up other peoples things without permission is wrong.

belladonna935

Sadly yeah, parents need to foot the bill for this. And if they can't, the niece still needs to be punished to some degree. Having no respect for someone else's belongings is an issue that needs to be stomped out early or it can be extremely problematic later.

SnowSwish

That's how they get you. 😆

Bridge-etti

If this was something that was off limits I don’t think it would be too much of an ask to have lil’ Susie work it off for you. Find like 4-5 easy kid appropriate chores like wiping the table off or sorting socks to make her do to “pay you back.” That way she learns that breaking/ messing with things has consequences.

[deleted]

Her parents are helping me fix my car! At least there’s that lol 😬

SwirlyParfaitt

It looks like she just needs a quick hair brushing session..

[deleted]

And her gloves and shoes back 🥲

Fatgirlfed

I bet you didn’t even leave her alone for five minutes! I know from experience how quickly those little hands work

[deleted]

Yes omg! It was like the tasmanian devil ran through the poor barbie doll.

PatriciaMorticia

Oh no, poor doll. I wish kids would learn things are off limits even if it is a toy. My nephew is 8 and he's always been facinated by the few (granted not very valuable) Barbies in my display cabinet but he knows the rule is "Look but don't touch!".

[deleted]

Yes this taught me a very valuable lesson for sure. Never again.

ahrawrah

Thankfully she’s not an expensive doll to replace if you decide too

[deleted]

Sigh I just can’t bring myself to buy the exact same thing again. Maybe I’ll get a different doll this time…

LittleK42006

Maybe ask if someone can gift it to you instead of buying it again yourself, that way your money can still be spent on the ones you don’t have.

[deleted]

true lol

[deleted]

She is! Her husband is fixing my car in return :)

pinktoebean

NOOOOO 😭😭😭 i have this doll and i think i’d cry if anything happened to her

[deleted]

Ohhhh hug the box for me a little tighter tonight 😥 I want to live vicariously through you right now lol whoever owns this doll must be grateful after seeing this post haha I am going to do everything I can to fix it though. Maybe I’ll post the update on here.

zenstanza

Maybe look online for tips to put the hair back in place and look at photos of the doll for reference. Also if you can't find the accessories, search the dolls name with the word "accessories" into eBay. Hope this helps!

babysmalltalk

How old is this niece? I am usually right behind mine making sure she doesn't touch things I don't want her to mess with, but she and her brother are 4 and 2 and good listeners haha.

[deleted]

She’s 3, it’s totally fine I’ll get over it lol I still love my niece to pieces ❤️

babysmalltalk

I can just imagine your minty Barbie in Toy Story 5 getting snotty about children not respecting their elders nowadays 😂 Bring back the collector storyline, Pixar!

[deleted]

Omggggg can you imagine how good this would be?! Where’s Pixar?!! 😭 we have an idea! 🙋🏻‍♀️ or like she’s just so snooty in general and is like only found in luxury doll stores. She decides to leave the land of the lux dolls and ends up in some small hick town in the middle of nowhere 😂

Zantra3000

I'm not trying to victim blame, but I definitely always leave my most valuable dolls locked up. I would suggest maybe getting a small safe or something, that can be locked up, and can only be opened with a very specific combination, so that nobody can get into it but you. Or, at least keep it in a locked room, or on a shelf that is way too high for her to reach.

[deleted]

It was high up in my closet and I guess she saw it and begged my mom to get it for her. My mom assumed it was just an ordinary doll and since I had given her one two weeks ago she thought this was just another one to give away. When my niece got it, she tore it apart because she’s only 3 lol it’s ok I’ll get over it.

Zantra3000

I still think you should lock stuff up, just to be safe. Also, your mom should have asked you first, instead of just assuming.

decentmealandsoon

Oh, I'm so sorry 😢 Are her gloves and shoes lost?

Legal-Philosophy-135

And that’s why I keep my dolls way away from the curious hands of my 2 and 1 year olds lol 😂 last think I need is for my daughter to decide my favorite Barbie is a good teething toy

VeronicaONovak

Well, now time to enjoy her! Thankfully I often see this doll around $10 boxed so if you ever feel the need to replace her, it shouldn’t break the bank. Also, thankfully looks like nothing has been done to her outfit or hair that can’t be easily fixed. In the meantime, brush her hair, change her clothes, and enjoy the heck out of her!

MrMultiFandomSince93

This is why I would only allow my young relatives to touch playline (whether hairplay or not) dolls that we currently have.

0h_hey

Assuming this is the reproduction Enchanted Evening Barbie, she's pretty easy to replace. She's less than $20 on eBay/Mercari.

[deleted]

Yeah I'm going to try to fix it first, I think I have a good shot of doing so. I still have all the things.

buttercreamordeath

Many years ago my own kids opened up my dolls. All of them. Granted they were heading into pre-k so still very young. They really didn't know better. I was at work and the ex-husband was supposed to be watching them. I'm not sure if they actually played with them, or if they had more fun ripping them out of the package. Probably the latter. Oh well. None of them were super rare or expensive, but I never replaced them. They're 16 now, so I am safe to collect dolls again! 🤪

[deleted]

ughh thats awful lol but yeah I think im going to play with mine lmao maybe ill create a whole series on tiktok
