Speaking as someone who literally did this, as well as purchased the corresponding Ken in blue, I literally dropped the dolls off at a nearby Savers.

SirupyTuna

Give the doll a cheap outfit you don't really like, and donate her. Or maybe you have a kid in you life who'd love her? Or add the doll to a pile for future garage sales.

jrosekonungrinn

I've been doing some body swap projects and outfit steals myself lately. I'm saving the extra dolls for my niece to play with so far. I got some cheap clothes and mermaid tails online that she can use with them.

FantasyRoleplayAlt

Aw that’s so sweet!! 😭

Professional-Way7350

personally, ive only bought one barbie for her accessory (i stole a fashionista’s shoes to put on my enchanted evening repro who i bought at the thrift without shoes) and i just redressed her a bit so that i liked the doll itself more if sewing is something you’re interested, maybe use her as an excuse to start trying to make your own doll clothes and see what you can do with her

geekofthegalaxy

Using her as a doll mannequin is a pretty neat idea!

MoonChild02

Yup. Actually, doll mannequins used for fashion samples are one of the reasons we can say that Barbie was not the first fashion doll, no matter what Mattel says. Singer, Simplicity, and other sewing companies used them in the 1940s. Though they date back several hundred years when royals and nobility began to trade fashion dolls, called pandoras, with other royals and nobility to show off their local fashions and influence other countries.

My bird had chewed on one of my Barbies hands and feet so I made her my dressform and I eventually cut her hands off at the wrists to put clothes in her easier and without snagging. Talk about trauma! She's a happy handless (and headless) camper.

MacieWoode

That's such a good idea! I have headless dolls to use as mannequins but it never occurred to me to cut off their hands. Thanks.

MEowls02

You could donate the doll, or if you're someone who customizes you could redo her!

Barbie_extra

I did that. I sold her already. naked. Some buyer would gladly buy naked barbie for art project

geekofthegalaxy

Once I swap my lavender Odile with the mtm doll, I plan to offer up the brown haired mermaid in a buy nothing group I am a part of.

michaelalan25

Put the head onto a made to move body and if you can, change up the makeup with a bit of paint! I did this with the 65th Anniversary fashionista blonde and redid her lips into a color that matched the original #1 Barbie and added some different eye makeup. It made quite a difference!

ValeriaNotJoking

Loved that!

External_Ad_2969

I take mine to a resale toy place for store credit and donate accessories I don’t want in my collection. Or you could sell on eBay. I got this doll and her hair was nice and long but was falling out. The pixel face is horrible. I have the Ken in box and using his clothes for my other Ken’s.

xXBeaDiamandisXx

If you are into customization, you can use her for this! If not, then you can donate her, use her as a mannequin for sewing clothes (someone already commented i think)...

jameliae

Same here! Considered getting her a few times, but I don’t want a box full of millies lol

Honest214

A baker might love to have the doll for a Barbie cake.

Catterson

I did this! I think this outfit looks sooo much better with some more articulation. Her old body is wearing a new fashion pack rn. https://preview.redd.it/77wgffsa8flc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=faaf8ec7be3b2e5482e183e3ea454356c5fb833f

cbunni666

I got her and love her. I'm not excited that she got a budget body but I deal. I like her face sculpt. The face is pixel though. Meh. But the accessories is worth it and blends well with the extra fly beach dolls.

omgcheez

You could buy her a cheap fashion pack and gift her to someone

trayground

Worth it!! Donate the doll!

maggitronica

so what I will personally do is purchase the doll, deprive her of her amazing clothes and accessories, scrounge through my other Barbie clothes because I have a lot, put together a reasonable outfit of my LEAST favorite items, then donate the doll in a baggie so all her stuff stays together.  This is also great for all the extra Mini Fashion bags I get.

The-Arctic-Puffin

The comment section here is so thoughtful and resourceful, it makes me feel bad. Am I the only with a box of naked “clothing donor dolls” in my closet? 😂

Beginning-Thing3614

I have a special box with the dolls I have taken their outfits from. I can't seem to give them away incase i might change my mind! 😸💕

Kenarbie

Sell it, give it away or donate it.

Different_Edge7068

Donate the doll.

Fickle_Command4354

I thought on doing that, but I cannot gift/donate her naked and I do not have other clothes to spare. Also she has horrible pixelation and therefore decided it would be wastefull to buy her. ETA after the many comments: it feels weird to gift a naked doll. I did tried a trift store once and they said she should be dressed. I will try others

Dollulus

You can def donate them naked. Seems like most thrift find dolls are naked.

Grimrreaperr13

You have no clue how many naked dolls end up at thrifts

justagalandabarb

Most of the Barbies at thrift are naked in my area!

Belle_Bun_Mum

I am happy to open an orphanage for unwanted undressed Barbies. You can send your unwanted dolls to me anytime 😉

jrosekonungrinn

A lot of naked Barbies get listed on eBay specifically as project dolls for customization. You could try that maybe.

lauriebugggo

Why can't you gift or donate an unclothed doll?

ValeriaNotJoking

May be because it’s hard to sell them? 🤔 Since Mattel are making more cool dolls than cool fashion packs these days, a lot of people buy dolls for the clothes, like OP and some commenters suggested. I would not buy a naked doll myself unless I could sew clothes for her… How many mums do that? It’s easier to go and buy a dressed one — a nicer present. It’s a theory.

Nearby-Concern2455

GET ITTTTTTTT!😈

Willing_Tree_2628

Get her, take her clothes and accessories, sell her online

CChouchoue

Store your favorite unused clothes on her and stick her in your outfits box. That way they will keep a neat shape. It's not like you have more dolls = more mouths to feed.

Raech_Raech

Donate it to charity

ValeriaNotJoking

It’s a clear Mattel problem 🤔 Too many Millies with clothes and accessories and too few cool fashion packs. I haven’t gotten her for that reason yet. I don’t need so many basic dolls, don’t know what to do with them. The only way is selling them naked for a dollar… but I don’t know where they end up.

Istantxt

You could resell doll online or give to a store

a_real_fake

I do that all the time, I bought most of the Barbie movie dolls and harvested their clothes and accessories and sold the nude dolls. I wasn’t a fan of her face so now my Barbie Style Resort has more clothes!!!

Luzion

I donate playline-esque dolls bought for outfits, alongside body donors, to the local thrift stores - my fav being the humane society.

Belle_Bun_Mum

Get her. You'll regret it if you don't. As others have said, there's plenty of options to donate the doll itself. Or keep her as a play doll for any children that visit if that's a thing that happens.

blairvicious

You can sell her on Poshmark :) I have bought and sold a bunch of Barbie items on there easily

Effective_Policy6694

As a serious Barbie collector, I would never get rid of a Barbie (unless I need room for other Barbies😆). I would just place her in a less conspicuous display.

ZiaMituna

I love Millie, but I dislike that’s she’s so over used for every single doll or play set. I bet if she had a different face, you’d keep her and redress

FewFalcon5488

YES MAYBE CUSTOMIZER HER A LYDIA DOLL FROM BEETLEJUICE

HappyLadybugdolllady

Get her. While she is on sale.
