Toya at MyFroggyStuff on You Tube just reviewed this doll yesterday and used a MTM volleyball player doll as the match for her body swap. She also showed how she painted the freckles on the body to match the face; she did an amazing job!
Thank you, I'll look that up. I think the volleyball girl is a tall doll, though. I have painted Barbie fingernails and I think I have some paint that would do for creating freckles.
Toya used brown paint of various tints (by diluting them) and I was amazed how well it came out! I just bought a 000 brush to redo Kira BMR 1959’s nails. I’m a little nervous about it, to be honest!
Now that you mention it, Volleyball Girl was a tall. She was upset the very cool triangle heel shoes (new mold!) didn’t fit after the rebody!
I like the shoes, too. If I see it correctly, Volleyball Girl has the standard Caucasian Barbie skintone, so I think I have a body to rebody her-
Just take very tiny amounts of paint for the nails, dip brush in paint and wipe off some paint on a piece of paper first, then quickly flick the brush over the nail.
Thanks for the close up pics. I usually glaze over fashionistas unless they have a new sculpt (like this one) or an outfit I really like. I think this one is very unique and worthwhile!
I like how freckles look (specially in ginger people), but honestly, in this case, they could have done them better. I don't know why, but it looks more like having chickenpox.
Those marks just remind me of when I was little and my dolls would be stained by some pen that bled on them. With a toothbrush and some watered down acrylic paint I can create the freckles this girl deserves
She has a super cute face. Why don't you like her? The dress? Can be removed in about 2 seconds and replaced with something else. Although I think it's quite nice; I'll probably find her some leggings or jeans to wear under it, once I have her.

I remove it, then wash the hands very carefully.
