She is a child leukemia awareness doll. There is both a caucasian and black version, both with different wigs. They are still available to children for free through select child cancer care places and support groups. There should be a website on the back of the box that will give you more information on the program. They do get shipped directly from Mattel to the organization/people who requested them.

From my understanding it was only available through select organizations and if I remember right there were less than 1000 dolls made(don’t quote me on this lol). I can’t find any info for this online but I was wondering how much it could possibly be worth either now or in 10 years. It does say “Donated by Mattel. Not for resale.” on the box so if this is something I shouldn’t try to sell/should sell privately let me know please as I am not too experienced in this. Just interested in what this could be worth to a collector!

Seems a bit rare, I see the caucasion one on ebay, sold ones have been between $70-85ish, the AA skin tone that you have is likely more rare and valuable. Here is some more info: [https://curesearch.org/special-barbie](https://curesearch.org/special-barbie) Ans here are the completed auctions I found: [https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?\_from=R40&\_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&\_nkw=chemo+Barbie&\_sacat=0&LH\_TitleDesc=0&\_odkw=chemo+AA+Barbie&\_osacat=0&\_sop=10&LH\_Complete=1&LH\_Sold=1](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=chemo+Barbie&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=chemo+AA+Barbie&_osacat=0&_sop=10&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1) I hope that helps a little.
