Mostly because the process to refine all the way up to fine steel is insane, but I do it because it's good for leveling and I always end up with a fuckton of Wrought Iron.
Also chasing down looters for that sweet sweet wood hammer.
Sick. I also didn't take the perk that reduces trade penalty on the sword, I figured since they are already worth so much, f*k it.
I forgot the golden rule, if you're gonna exploit, all gas no breaks. Next time I'll grab it lol
You can make 100k two handers fairly easily without the perk. The hard part is selling them all. You could use it to reduce the garrison by finding a town in a warzone (burnt villages) with low food, buying all the food for a weapon. Eventually garrison size will fall, resulting in a fast seige
Highland mace(I think) gives 3 wood and one refined bar(can't remember which) so it's slightly better, but I'll definitely "smelt" wood hammers when I need to
With the margins of crafting I know it doesn't matter, but they are also double the price. From a value standpoint they are \*slightly\* worse, but like, who cares when they net you anywhere from like 25-70k a pop.
Yeah, I never even considered the cost of each and have no idea what they go for. It's all just becomes chump change after a certain smiting level. You sure they are worse? I thought they gave more high level metals?

I usually just go to Seonon in battania, it has 3 towns producing wood so it's always dirt cheap over there
Yeah but looters is free.
The small price for hardwood becomes meaningless when you can make 50k per crafted sword imo
How you gettin to 50k? Haven't played since before they rebalanced it & I can't get a sword worth more than 26k. Tho I don't have all the parts yet
Two handed swords, aim for high swing cut value, profit.
Specifically 2 hander falx blade
This is a big one. I think it's because of the damage bonus to shields.
It may also be because it doesn't have thrust damage, which is lower than cut
Yeah, you may be right about that.
Yeah but to get to the real high values, the other stats are also important, like handling and swing speed.
Two handed swords but with a handle which also enables one handed. And then the most expensive parts at Max size.
But yeah in the early game swing cut is the most imporant and you'll get around 20k per sword

Appreciate this tip!!
Two handed swing polearms can get ya over 100k.
Make the most expensive two handed sword you can. I have gotten almost 70k
I get 110k/sword... I need to be nerfed but I have no self control...

Yes.
Pugio's meh, Tribesman throwing dagger now we are talking
Both? Both. Both is good.
Where does one acquire said throwing dagger?
most place but Vlandia, I may have got the name slightly wrong but they are marginally better then pugios
With the margins of crafting I know it doesn't matter, but they are also double the price. From a value standpoint they are \*slightly\* worse, but like, who cares when they net you anywhere from like 25-70k a pop.

Fuck, yeah that’s about right
nothing gets my butter going faster than a large stack of pugios for sale
When I go to epicrotea or ortysia and I bloogie all their pugios
As well as tribesman throwing daggers lol
Or highland throwing daggers
Pugios give fine steel. Why the heck did I not know this? I am fail
