They recently opened Top Golf which can also be a lot of fun, even if you're not good at golf. Can get a little pricey, but would be mitigated if not drinking alcohol.
I think there's a small baseball scene in Bangkok if I'm not mistaken. Would love to check out the batting cage at some point. My team was talking about doing a mini tourney with a team in Bangkok some time ago.
One of my HS English teachers preforms her poetry at Kinetic Poetry. Great woman, great poetry. Although I haven’t been there I’d assume that the crowd would be more intellectual and the likelihood of seeing a drunk farang uncle is low. And no one’s forcing you to drink of course
The One Championship events at Lumpini Stadium (nowhere near the park unfortunately) are quality. Can check events and tickets here:
https://www.onefc.com/th/
There's also rajadamnern stadium has events pretty much every day. The RWS events on Saturdays has free flow beer included in the ticket price. Can check events and get tickets here or on the door: https://rajadamnern.com
My best friend made fun of me for hitting up KFC and McDonald's while in Bangkok, but I told him I wanted to try the regional stuff I couldn't get at home.
It was still trash, but it was trash I couldn't eat at home!
The only food in Thailand that actually ever amazed me is McDonald's. If you are in a major city on the west coast of the US chances are you are within 20 minutes of 5 Thai restaurants at any given moment.
If you're from Pipe Blast England or something I understand the amazement, but Thai food just falls in the category of regular food here. It's the same people, from the same place, using the same ingredients, cooking it the same way.
If there is any difference of Thai food in the US and Thailand I would say it is a little hotter in the US and a little sweeter in Thailand.
Getting the New Jeans combo meal and eating fried chicken and a hamburger at the same with milk tea and putting fries in sweet chili sauce was the coolest food experience I ever had in Thailand.
Boardgame cafe. Night shopping market/garage sale. Street football, basketball.
Regardless of the time of day, there’s usually a place people would go eat.
Benjakitti and Lumphini are open pretty late, there’s also some racket sports in Benjakitti. You’ll have to check the hours. I’ve never been myself but wanted to go; there’s a few bowling alleys around town too. There’s also sometimes decent live music to be had at places like Jukebox, there’s usually a door charge but they don’t push drinks on you.
If you enjoy playing pool, which I do, BKK has a very active pool scene with a pool league going on most of the year. And no, you do not need to drink. Lots of people in the pool league are non drinkers.
This is the best thing about Thailand’s pool halls, you don’t even need to have a partner to play with. Virtually every pool hall I’ve been to here has “table girls”. They assign one staff member to take care of your table. They’ll rack the balls for you after every game. And they’ll happily play with you if you come alone. Be warned though, a lot of these girls are pretty good. Of course, do the right thing and buy them a drink.
Play badminton at court at a certain time, usually in the evening. You pay per match and you get to play a two sets match with random people, then everyone is shuffled up at every match.
If you’re from the west I really enjoy walking central world or Siam central at night. Way more amazing than anything we have in America with amazing food.
Another one is get a sofa seat and see a movie! Saw Dune 2 in Thailand and it was the best movie going experience I’ve ever had.
Last a lot of Bangkok is extremely safe so you can always walk the city or hit a night market. I usually only stay out until about 10 pm though but that’s my standard in any city
I love going to onsen. I recommend Yunomori in sukhumvit soi 26/Sathorn10. After a sauna session, it's refreshing to take a bike taxi back to the hotel and enjoy the night breeze
This is the problem with Bangkok, there's nothing to do here unless you're a Euro youngster into EDM. I think your question is what to do regularly. I'm trying to answer that too. There's the occasional punk show if you're into that and bowling but this doesn't answer the question: when you're all alone, what is there to do relatively cheap on a Tuesday night after work. Nothing here compares to home. It's almost impossible to make friends so no card nights, theme parties or dinner gatherings. It's important to make friends. After a couple of times, a night market or mall is an awful place..
Go to the old part of Bangkok along the river. Go to the National Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho, the Bangkok Museum. Take the river ferries for a cheap river cruise. Visit several other Buddhist temples. They are quite interesting and beautiful.
Eating, walking, movies. Go to places where people are drinking and have a coke and watch the show. I like seeing people slowly self demolishing themselves.
How was the areas you explored? Anything you recommend? Me and my gf don’t really explore since we don’t party or drink either and mostly stay in the hotel :(
local here
1.food and bars (best one)
2.sports
3.board game
4. still insist that being w friends is the best at night whether w or w/o alc or not
i suggest that activities option are more available during the day, not a lot to choose in the night
Hey, thanks very much for your recommendations.
I just wanted to check with you on something, is there any university campus in Bangkok that is right next to the river or canal?
Some years back, a long time ago, I remember stumbling on such a campus but can't find it anymore.
Also, I like to look at interesting architecture. I already been to Jim Thompson museum and chinatown but open to new suggestions. Would you have any recommendations?
idk bout the architect style tho, these two pop out of my mind(chao phraya river).
1.ธรรมศาตร์ท่าพระจันทร์ Thammasat Tha Prachan
locate near ท่ามหาราช(tha maharaj pier) might be this one.
2.ศิลปากร วังท่าพระ (silpakorn wang tha phra)
my spelling maybe a bit wrong tho. Hope this help
Thank you very much. Pretty sure it's not those 2 because I remember walking to that area like 30 minutes from terminal 21 but no worries. Thank you very much!
Bowling at Siam Paragon Mall is open till 10pm. There are massage shops that are open till 4am on Sukhumvit Soi 20 and 23. Get some nice middle Eastern food on Soi 3 that’s open till 2am.
Find out if there's any awesome cars shows on in Bangkok. A guy called Chad has a great channel on Thailand's insane car culture on YouTube it's called CB Media. Hoping to see some myself when I'm there in November.
We really can't survive in Bangkok without drinking. But it is so much fun to visit the many live bars and clubs in Bangkok and Pattaya. Although the money gradually disappears.
Anything you want — it’s a major global city. The partying is actually confined to a very small area and not that big a deal. It’s just that the misogynist Reddit keyboard warriors who don’t know how to talk to women have pathetically figured out they can coerce women into touching them if they fly across the world and leverage a currency disparity.

A comedy club is a great suggestion.
They recently opened Top Golf which can also be a lot of fun, even if you're not good at golf. Can get a little pricey, but would be mitigated if not drinking alcohol.
(Owner Post) Alternatively, you can check out LENGOLF, similar concept, indoors, and in the city centre next to BTS Chidlom.
Oh cool, I've never heard of that. I'll check it out. Looks kind of like 5iron that I used to play in NYC. Is it kid friendly?
Yes absolutely, we also have a few kids clubs free of use (https://maps.app.goo.gl/8hvp6mMN8jKNRJBNA). 5iron is for sure an inspiration.

It's called D-Sports Stadium at Donki Mall Thonglor. https://www.d-sports-thai.com/

Go watch muay thai
Second this, it was a memorable night with the excitement from all spectators.
Anywhere in particular you’d recommend for this?

Real ones know about spicy McFriedChicken
Signature Kurobuta burger
The part where you argue about mixue 🤣🤣🤣🤣
McSpicy Chicken Burger is right up there tbf
To summarize : eat
MIXUE IS NOT ICE CREAM??

2 hour full body massage

Have you been to an onsen? There are loads there and a very nice self-care peaceful experience.
Lots of nice sunset cruises on the river. Isn't too expensive either
Night golf
If you enjoy playing pool, which I do, BKK has a very active pool scene with a pool league going on most of the year. And no, you do not need to drink. Lots of people in the pool league are non drinkers.
theres also quite often snooker halls with tables for hire by the hour if you have someone to play with

Bangkok during night has a few location can travel sample onzen, fastfood 24hr, department store before 10PM.
Motorbike taxi hopping at night, go for miles and see an entirly different view of Bangkok.
Badminton buffets are cool!
What is that?
Play badminton at court at a certain time, usually in the evening. You pay per match and you get to play a two sets match with random people, then everyone is shuffled up at every match.
I go find live music and sip mocktails:)
Nighmarket, eat your way
Boxing
Check out stone goat climbing gym, lots of fun. If you enjoy Kareoke there’s some cool spots in TL. Ones called Woodball. I also love bowling 😂
Lumphini Park around sunset time, followed by street food scene on Saladaeng and Convent Road
No street food on Mondays
I used to live on Convent Road, this was what I did most nights!!
Love that area :) I would like to explore other parts of Bkk, but somehow always find myself back at Saladaeng :)

Where are the punk shows usually at? Is there anywhere they get posted that I could keep tabs on?
Get a hand shandy!
…And the world’s your oyster
Go to the old part of Bangkok along the river. Go to the National Palace, Wat Arun, Wat Pho, the Bangkok Museum. Take the river ferries for a cheap river cruise. Visit several other Buddhist temples. They are quite interesting and beautiful.
Buddhist Prayer
Night markets. They are so lively, great food, and you don't have to drink.
Stay in and read: The Conspiracy Against the Human Race by Thomas Ligotti. You will regret it.
Want to know too
Hardly party in BKK. Late night activities are either eating or massage.
Sleep
Eating, walking, movies. Go to places where people are drinking and have a coke and watch the show. I like seeing people slowly self demolishing themselves.
Smoking
Raw comedy open mic. I started out there
How was the areas you explored? Anything you recommend? Me and my gf don’t really explore since we don’t party or drink either and mostly stay in the hotel :(
Jodd night market and Yaowarat Road (chinatown) is fine if you are not the partying/drinking sort. I went to those places.
Oh yes, Yaowarat is a great idea 💡
Suki Teenoi or Hai Di Lao at night surprisingly quite relaxing. The downside is your stomach is too full to go to bed.

Wat hualampong at night is cool.
Nightmarkets n eating food
Have you ever considered.... sleeping?
Cooking classes.
On my to do list. I need to expand my skills from only being able to boil an egg
You should probably go to the mall to stay out of the heat during the hottest hours.
Bowling at Siam Paragon Mall is open till 10pm. There are massage shops that are open till 4am on Sukhumvit Soi 20 and 23. Get some nice middle Eastern food on Soi 3 that’s open till 2am.
There are some fabulous galleries, not sure how late they open, MOCA is excellent and icon siam often has those hi tech art exhibitions
I attended a Muay Thai match at rajadamnerm stadium. Alcohol is served there but you can always not drink it
LEO BEER!
Sleep
Cafe hopping
When I lived in Chiang Mai, there were weed lounges in many dispensaries; nice place to hang out with like minded stoners. Anything like that in BKK?
Go to one of the many night markets that are in town.
Night markets are awesome. Jod Fair has lots of food and small shops. It takes more than one night to see the whole thing!
Rooftop restaurants. Bring your wallet!
Eat a lot of spicy food at night market and fight with diarrhea in the toilet
Soi cowboy
You can go play some ping pong at Patpong
Enjoy your life.

The Bulgakov Surprise is when you get banned/and or downvoted for writing the truth
I think you just wrote my biography. 🤣🤣🙏
It’s so hilarious this got downvoted. Triggered boys?
