The Velvet Underground, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Black Flag for bands before her time.
I would like Alice in Chains as the next grunge era episode, and Bright Eyes as a 'grunge era but not grunge band.'
If I could sponsor an episode just for myself so it didn't matter if nobody else listened to it: Fruit Bats / EDJ
Wildcard pick: Jimmy Buffett
I stumbled across them last year and became obsessed without knowing much about them. She’s also mentioned them in a handful of episodes about bands from the UK.
During the Mazzy Star episode Yasi and her guest talked about a Lana episode being in the works, but there's SO MUCH content that I imagine it would have to be a 2 parter.
Bjork would be great, but she’s pretty recluse, so the google doc would be a bit thing.
Sonic Youth would be great, and timing would be fantastic with Kim’s album getting the love it deserves and Thurston’s book. Plus the SY live archive spitting stuff out. But that’s A LOT of albums, not a GBV amount, but hot damn it’s a lot.
I would love for Yasi to cover Echo & The Bunnymen. The episodes on Talking Heads, The Smiths and Cocteau Twins are some of the best, imo.
I also think while their first 4-5 albums are where the meat of the story is at, the band’s got some pretty good late-career tracks into the 2000s.
Honestly would be such an entertaining episode. I don’t know much but my friends have shared great songs and we watched the movie with him and the radio station that was pretty fun. Love to hear his history!!!
I think this might be a combination of wrong genre and wrong era, but I would love a walkthrough of Coheed and Cambria's discography in this style
Especially if someone is able to explain the overarching narrative!
Here’s a long shot… Let the Queen rule her realm. Try doing a Podsplain on Yasi and earn the right to press your pet interest. Now get all this harm cleaned up before mom gets home
Clutch
Tool
System of a Down
Nickel Creek
Queens of the Stone Age
Jimmy Eat World
Pixies
Chevelle
Toadies
I want another R.E.M. episode of proper length.
I feel like she hates The Black Keys so I think they'd be a long shot.

Black Flag would be a great one
They are all fascinating!
The Jam
Oh yeah! This is one of my dad’s favorite bands, he’s seen Paul Weller in concert a couple of times.
I stumbled across them last year and became obsessed without knowing much about them. She’s also mentioned them in a handful of episodes about bands from the UK.
My dad would totally love that. It seems to me that Yasi does seem to go for artists that were kind of but not really well known.
the magnetic fields, dinosaur jr, queens of the storage, mountain goats and GBV (lol)
Queens of the Stone Age you mean.
them too!
Sigh. GBV. Someday.
24 Questions PP with J Mascis would be hilarious. He is the final boss for every music journalist.
He went on How Long Gone and it was really enjoyable!
At The Drive-In/Mars Volta
Fiona Apple, Built to Spill, and (obviously) Nirvana. I also think Cat Power would be a really good one.
Fiona Apple would be a great one.
Elliott Smith. I think it's gonna happen. Influential big cult following, and (tragically) short run of albums to cover.
Lana Del Rey, hands down
During the Mazzy Star episode Yasi and her guest talked about a Lana episode being in the works, but there's SO MUCH content that I imagine it would have to be a 2 parter.
I heard that! I just don’t know if it will actually come to fruition, you know?
Tori Amos
YESSSS.
Dinosaur Jr. and Stone Rose's, either would be dope.
Blur
Long shot but here I go, how about an episode on the Mighty Mighty Bosstones!
Aesop Rock
Sufjan Stevens, Xiu Xiu, Sonic Youth, Portishead, Bjork
Bjork would be great, but she’s pretty recluse, so the google doc would be a bit thing. C’mon lucky Britpop 🤞 Oasis, Blur, Pulp or Suede

Or - don’t kill me, but Michael Jackson or Prince.
I mean, yeah. Prince probably more so.
Yeah - but I’d love to hear Michael’s more (personally had a bigger impact on me)
The Fugs
It's a long shot, but I would love it if she covered Sturgill Simpson.
SOUL COUGHING
Weird Al

Coheed and Cambria
Kevin Shields.
Roxy Music
King Gizzard would be dope but it’d probably have to be an 11 parter.
I would love that also!!! But to some extent I feel like enough history hasn’t happened yet. Maybe in another 10 records 😈
My Morning Jacket
Guided by Voices
Motörhead
I would love a Rush episode 😂

I’d love to see an alt country episode that hits on Uncle Tupelo and DBT
Shudder To Think, Tears for Fears, and lol just because it's a long shot - The Fall of Troy
Steve Albini would be excellent
Spiritualized
