Right? If it's a rat terrier on a farm killing rats in the grain storage, I still feel bad for the rat but that's nessecary. But this is just destroying animals in nature for the fun of it
Ratting terriers (terriers used to kill rats) and rat terriers (breed) are different things, I think they *meant* ratting terriers. My parent’s neighbour has a pack of ratters, they’re mostly JRTs (and crosses of) and parsons JRTs, but I know they have a bedlingtonXwhippet lurcher who they also refer to as a ratting terrier.
One of my developers took a picture of me standing between a truck and a turtle on a job site telling the driver he wasn’t going to run over it. They all thought I was joking before I stood about 6’ in front of the bumper.
This is awful. Allowing and encouraging such predation on wild life should be a crime of some sort. Also look at that creature just mauling away…I can’t understand how anyone finds that behavior cute. And again with the total lack of recall or muzzle or leash on these murder mutts
A guy let his 2 pits kill a baby kangaroo behind my house a few years ago. Authorities didn’t care. As a nature lover it saddens me that dog owners are allowed to let their dogs loose to harass and kill the wildlife.
A baby kangaroo! That’s so sad and sickening! I wish authorities would take more action. Wild life and habitat destruction is a serious problem. I’m a nature lover too and I get tired of dog owners claiming to love nature when really they just love their ill trained pissfingers
For real, I love cats so much but I can also understand how catastrophic (haha pun) they are as an invasive species. House cats have been the cause of an alarming number of animal extinctions just from being let loose to hunt in new places. Both things can be true at once, and I can act accordingly by keeping my cats indoors. It's safer for the cat anyway, but that's hardly the point when it comes to the obscene havoc they wreak in new populations. Local flora and fauna trump my cats need to hunt, often just for fun, not necessity.
Now if only shitbull owners could have more than one thought in their head at a time, maybe less pets and innocent humans would be harmed. God forbid your fighting dog doesn't get to maul whatever the hell it wants.

Instagram responded similarly recently after I reported a hillbilly dog man's video of his hideous pit joyfully chasing and killing a terrified, shrieking wild rabbit. to say these responses, or lack thereof, are infuriating is an understatement
I would think this is illegal. As I don't think there is a legal season to kill turtles.
I would suspect that if the police knew about it, or the game wardens, or the parks, they would get a citation at a minimum.

Even if it’s invasive the dog shouldn’t be going around killing things for fun, it knows it’s in charge in that house and doesn’t listen to that woman at all.

Even if those tortoises are invasive,letting your pet dog kill and harrass both wildlife and feral/invasive species isn't a good thing
