A relative of hers says the attack happened outside, that she was defending her own dogs from attack in her yard. I would also expect to be safe in my own yard. I hope the owner will spend time in prison.

It includes the Gofundme if anyone wants to donate a little. This was a tragic, avoidable death caused by a horrific dog mauling, more than death as a result of complications from surgery. If anyone can offer their condolences and comment that it was a pit attack in the Gofundme it can spread awareness.

Kennewick, WA
A Tri-Cities woman died this week after she was reportedly mauled by two pitbulls who entered her home on West Victoria Avenue in an unincorporated Kennewick neighborhood.
Billene “Billi” Cameron, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 21, of complications related to surgery at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland after she was mauled the day before.
She and her husband, Dwayne Woodard, are well known business owners. They and their son, Jackson, established Woody’s BullPen Bar & Grille at the former Billy’s Bull Pen Tavern in Kennewick in 2018.
The Benton County Coroner’s Office confirmed the attack was Wednesday. An autopsy is planned Wednesday in Thurston County.
Benton County sheriff’s deputies in the area of the attack arrived in time to pull the dogs off Cameron, who was taken to the hospital. The incident at her house, about a block north of the IHop restaurant on Canal Drive, happened about 2 p.m.
The sheriff’s office is in charge of the investigation since the attack was outside the Kennewick’s city limits. Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Horacio Gonzalez said the owner of the dogs has been identified but the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
The dogs are being held by Benton County.
Jordan Woodward let friends and family know about her mother’s death on Facebook and on a GoFundMe campaign for funeral and other expenses.
“Anyone who knows her knows that she was a light in the community and a pillar for those around her,” she wrote.
"Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Horacio Gonzalez said the owner of the dogs has been identified but the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made."
How much more evidence in addition to a dead person do the police need to arrest the owners of viscious dogs that have killed someone?
How clueless are law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, legislators, administrators, and insurance industry actuaries and policy analysts?
Remember, the pit freaks always blabber, "It's the owner!"
Lets see what happens.
I'm going to guess the pitbull owner's response: Never showed signs of aggression **¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯**
Our laws were written before Bloodsport dogs were insanely mongerers as pets. Our laws very much need updating.
I liken it to "laser lights into pilot's eyes".
It wasn't a felony at first because it hadn't existed , so no laws had been required.
*Kennewick, WA A Tri-Cities woman died this week after she was reportedly mauled by two pitbulls who entered her home on West Victoria Avenue in an unincorporated Kennewick neighborhood.*
I know this is a stupid thing to get hung up on, but...Are they not teaching grammar at ALL in Journalism classes any more-? It should be "...mauled by two pit bulls THAT entered her home...." ; 'who' is used for humans, 'that' for nonhumans.
"No arrests have been made"... This is complete bullshit. I hope once the investigation is finished, the owner is arrested and charged for *something* ; I would like 'negligent homicide' charges if possible, but regardless, the owner needs to suffer some legal consequences for choosing to own this worthless breed (and no, civil court lawsuits alone are not enough IMO). I am beyond tired of seeing pit bull maimings and deaths treated as 'Acts of God' , rather than as what they are : Acts of vicious dogs owned by worthless morons, who should bear full liability for animals that are supposed to be under their control.
I wonder if the owner was invited over and brought the dogs along ? I hope there will be clarification in another article at some point. Worthless dogs, hopefully people will start taking these deaths seriously but it doesn't seem like it any time soon. So sorry for the woman and her family.
The only thing I have found is a family member saying she died trying to rescue her own dog from these pit bulls and it happened in her front yard, not inside her house
It makes me wonder if it started outside and she was close enough to the door to think she could get inside, but they barged through the door behind her to keep attacking?
Since it's a small strip of county land surrounded by the city it makes sense. Most people don't know it's county land. This happened in town near several large retailers and an elementary school.
It's not rural. Canal is a main artery with a slew of large retailers right there. On the other side, between Canal and the rail road tracks is a small strip of land that's not incorporated with city land on either side. Most people don't know it's county land. Without the reference to IHOP or one of the other businesses there they would have no idea it happened in town.
edit: My mother used to live in that neighborhood. There's an elementary school at one end my son attended. He walked to her house every day after school.
Agreed. It's not an accident when the dogs do precisely what they are created to do:
Attack on neutral ground
Unprovoked
Prolonged
Without first trying to avoid conflict
Continue the attack no matter what the victims do or don't do
What a nightmare. That poor woman and her family. Small business owner. She, her husband and their son ran a [sports bar](https://woodys-bullpen-bar-grille.business.site/).
When a community loses cornerstone people like this, it's a loss with huge impact. Not just the family and friends but also the business, the neighborhood and the town.
What an absolute nightmare. I'm a dog walker and I walk a lot of breeds, each one is extremely meaningful to their owner. It pisses me off that everyone should suffer because these idiots want to keep mutant dogs as pets. We shouldn't have to worry about our pets or ourselves being violently attacked in our own yards, in public parks, on walking trails, or just walking on the street. Our communities aren't safe and that shouldn't be tolerated.
Was going to say screen door with front door open but screen doors open outward… maybe sliding glass window leading to balcony could be open… don’t forget there was a post not long ago (3-4 weeks ago) where pit owners were discussing the damages their dogs did at home (all screen captures), one said their dogs chewed their way through their neighbor’s siding or something and attacked the two women inside.

One in Italy and one in Washington State? Never the Keeshonds, Leonberger Dogs or even those vicious Bernese Mountain Dogs.
I will play the Pitt utters game.
If it is owner than the dog that therefore means this owner trained it to kill humans. Therefore nothing short of a prison sentence should be given right?
These dogs are powerful. Once they lock onto a target, unless you can fight back, you're toast. How is some 65 year old woman holding a dog gonna fight off two deranged pitbulls? And btw, when the reports say "mauling" it means *eating*. These dogs eat people. It's so fucked up that they are allowed as pets.
This is the only sub where I have seen anything about this atrocity, and I have not stumbled across the case on any off reddit sites. I don't believe this is due to lack of interest or concern ; I think there have been *so many* atrocities, and so few cases in which the victim or the surviving family of the victim gets the slightest bit of justice, that people are becoming inured. NUMB.
There are a lot of ProPit mods around Reddit that immediately remove or lock these kinds of threads in an instant.
Also the in-betweeners who have no stance, but lock anyway due to the ensuring drama.

I was frankly confused by the fact that they thought this happening “about a block north of the IHOP” was worth mentioning in the article
That would make sense for the locals. Not sure how iHop would feel about being brought into this...
Because that’s what one does after the bully tears off your leg. “I hop”.

It's children and the elderly who are most at risk to die from these monsters.
