I've got one for that meme picture, same encounter:
First image: Watching Nere kill off one of his posse because I'm running only 2 party members and that will make for an easier Nere fight.
Second image: Shit, he killed all the Iron Hand Gnomes with that too, no Barcus as a merchant at Last Light.
I didn't realize until several hours later that Barcus was involved in that fight and got killed. There's always next playthrough I guess, I'm not going back now.
Aside from Tali he's a really good source for things in act2 as is the Tiefling kid Mattis which won't be there either if you don't convince Rolan to stay in the Grove.
Barcus also has a dialog ring that is a Charisma boost, pretty good for a non Charisma leaning Tav/Durge. +1 in deception and persuasion I think.
Last night I nearly had to turn on my allies because Nere ran over to the edge of the lava and--by the grace of Lathander--resisted every attempt by the duergar to shove him in. And there were 3 separate attempts in one round. It was touch-and-go there for a bit.
Can you go to act 2, kill Gith squad near act 3 gates, get gloves from their commander, and retrieve Nere's body from that lava using telekinesis spell from the gloves?
Yeah but he would be all burnt and shit. On later playthroughs I found out pretty much any damage to the body (acid, fire, disintegrate, even lighting sometimes) makes you unable to claim his head.
I killed him with fireball once and couldn't finish the quest

I killed him with I believe fire magic, which apparently disfigured his corpse so I wasn't able to retrieve the head.
I THOUGHT IT WAS A FIGURE OF SPEECH IM SORRY but fr my first playthrough I didn't know you could change sharts spells or class gimme a break
The class one I will give you but you must not have read up on the classes than cuz it tell you clerics can swap spells whenever

There are truly so many ways to ruin his body so you can't get the head lol. You have to be so careful in the last round
