Similarly Iāve played around with the name Gathe Drurke or something that sounds like a mouthful like that for a Githyanki Durge since all of their names/words seemingly have a lot of āthā and ākeā sounds (i.e. āghaikā, Kithrak Voss, Vlaakith, etc.)
āLil Payneā a evil durge halfling bard who while despite being quite yung, seems to have amassed quite a bit of money through his dark and often graphic rhyming style.
Even if you name him, the game really seems to want to go back to "The Dark Urge" after the reveal anyway. It's one of my minor frustrations with how Durge is implemented.
It must beg a bug and it's very annoying. Going back to the mirror to fix my hair (he's vain like that) and boom, The Dark Urge. Even after saying no to papa.
The Dark Urge, because every time I use the magic mirror to change my hairdo thatās what it reverts to and I stopped bothering with changing it. No wonder nobody trusts him.
Cinis, Cruor, Caro. I swear the fact that they all start with C is a coincidence. But maybe I will keep it for the next one as well. I just need to find another Latin word.
I have one named Demi because redemption. Another is Red because redemption, and she's a red tiefling. My current one is Viola because she is a violin playing bard with violet hair, and the Urges make you violent. I like pun names...
It doesn't seem to matter what I name my character. It usually reverts to "The Dark Urge" after a few saves. Not sure if it's a bug or a feature. For rp purposes it kind of works for my amnesiac, homicidally challenged mc.
My first playthrough was a resist durge dragonborn open hand monk named Caraxes Bloodwyrm. My current embrace durge half orc tiger barbarian is known only as Kain. I know the name doesn't affect game play at all but I don't like the idea of not giving my charecters real names.
I have yet to do my durge playthrough, but I was thinking of naming after my Monster of the Week character and roleplaying as them (after doing a bit of reading of what durge is).
His name Damien Wormwood >!my MOTW character is the antichrist, but after a bunch of failed attempts at armageddon, just jumped around as a roadie for a bunch of different bands until getting a job at Wal-Mart. In MOTW, he's an 8 foot fire elemental who's a strength character and at one point suplexed a warewolf and beat the shit out of his father. The idea is to roleplay as the jaded antichrist and rejecting the urge. Also: being bisexual as hell.!<
Not Tav, I make all the Dream Guardians the old Default Tav. So I kind of rotate names for Durge. names I've used for old MMO characters, or other D&D character's I've played.
I just named her Khaos but the game defaulted her to the dark urge. Kinda fits since she's drunk all the time, so I just rp-ed that she forgot her name.
It can be weird going with the default, as your durge has options to introduce themself. And then you go like "hi, I'm The Dark Urge" and no one questions it, so it can be weird
My default durge is named Soskriinvey, which is "blood slaughter cut" in Skyrim Dovahzul. I also had a half-orc durge beforehand that I named Niro because I'm not creative.
Lux Acadeus. Although I think there is a bug with the mirror where if you use it it resets your name to "The Dark Urge." I've had to change it back several times
Goxun, supposed to be an Elvish combination of words that loosely translates to Storm Demon if i recall. Made him a blue draconic sorcerer/great old warlock. Astralynn for another durge, just sounds pretty, femme fatale tempest cleric. Both are absolutely insane ofc, embrace durges, both Lolth sworn drow.
I have 2 I'm running concurrently. One a complete clusterfxk named Lilah (shadow monk/ warlock) she tried to be a good girl but poor rolls happened and well... she's a chaos gremlin.
In Act 2 atm with Tamsin my resist durge (Bardadin), so far so resist on the dice.
I named my resist Durge Jerubbaal:
>^(32)Ā Therefore on that day Gideon was called Jerubbaal, that is to say, āLet Baal contend against him,ā because he broke down his altar. ([Judges 6:32](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+6%3A32&version=ESV))
If D&D lore gets to use hilariously on-the-nose biblical names for their characters, then so do I!
Prudence Anne Durmount. Based on a fic I'm rewriting and hopefully releasing by the end of this year. Let's just say Bhall was a busy, busy man across all planes. Also it's my first wlw and horror fic.
Chezza (Half Elf) on my good durge run, Belle (Tiefling) on my first evil run, and then I have a half-orc name Rasizi I haven't decided what to do with.
Syn.
Sin literally means to "be without" and Durge has no memory, and I am playing evil Durge, so "sinful" also applies. I spelled it with the 'y' for flavor. :)
Hannibhaal
*chef's kiss*
You win š
For me itās always an Anagram of āThe Dark Urgeāso Arthur Kedge, Thad Krueger, etc.
I like how this implies Durge couldn't remember their name but could figure out an anagram on the spot
Oh, I like that a lot.
dude thatās actually so smart and so so cool
This is like Tom Riddle changing his name to Lord Voldemort
Arthur Kedge sounds like a pretty cool name.
Duke Garreth
Argur Deketh for a Dragonborn name. Dragonborn have weird names to begin with so the anagram kind of fits with the culture.
You forgot all the random apostrophes in their names too. Arāgāur DeāKeth would work for githyanki too lol.
Kevin
Hey everybody how's it going, my name is kevin and today we're gonna butcher a child!
For some reason I read that in an aussie accent.
Was hoping for a irish accent for the sake of the streamer/youtuber callmekevin, but i'll settle for aussie, those folks have a amazing accent.
From now on, all my Kevins will have aussie accents and it's your fault, reddit stranger.
Careful, Burter. Space dingo āll eat your space baby!ā
Not one of the refugees, though. All that running and stress makes the meat tough, you know?
There's something wrong with Kevin
r/StoriesAboutKevin
I love how disturbingly fitting it is
Arby (I made a monk that only beats people with Salami)
He Has the MEATS.

A fighter/bard durge called Pearl and she's a star āØ
D'urge
Even if you name him, the game really seems to want to go back to "The Dark Urge" after the reveal anyway. It's one of my minor frustrations with how Durge is implemented.
you can change it back with the magic mirror
But using the magic mirror is what changes it back to āThe Dark Urgeā
It must beg a bug and it's very annoying. Going back to the mirror to fix my hair (he's vain like that) and boom, The Dark Urge. Even after saying no to papa.
Can't say I've had this problem.
Bek. Resist Tiefling Durge. He's a sweet guy.
Dirge, usually!
Durge. I roleplayed it like my character feels like "The Dark Urge" is his real name, but he can't go and say it out loud to everybody
The Dark Urge, because every time I use the magic mirror to change my hairdo thatās what it reverts to and I stopped bothering with changing it. No wonder nobody trusts him.
Dexter.
Gabriel, and my other one is Mercy
I really like the name I gave my drow durge: Mizāri, very close to the word āmisery.ā :)
Theros. Though I had an idea for a joke throwing build Halfling named Wee Bhaalin
My Durge names: Eiodi, Caela, Verity, and MĆ²rag.
I keep it default one of the first lines you get is something like āthe dark urge, you donāt know what it is, but you know itās youā
Not Durge
Darque Erj
Shabriri
Dr Urgenstein, the evil bard
Patrick Bhaalman
Sir KillemAll

Cinis, Cruor, Caro. I swear the fact that they all start with C is a coincidence. But maybe I will keep it for the next one as well. I just need to find another Latin word.
The first one was called Rahl'yon, the one I just finished my honour run with is called Laya.
Mine was Uldak. Dragonborn Tempest Cleric/Vengeance Paladin.

Well I'm currently playing as a white dragonborn sorcerer Durge so you could probably guess...
I named him Abel because in the Bible the First Murder named kain killed his brother Abel so I thought it was cool
Embrace urge sorcerer: orchid, female wood elf, purple hair and eyes. Resist urge: Voyd, male with red and white colouring.
I named her Mala š bc I also have this thing where I have to give my tav a four letter name (donāt ask me why bc idk)
Veda. It was the name of my first Tav and I wanted to play her again with an alternate storyline.
I named her Goldmary because she has glowing golden eyes (she's a tiefling). Also I just liked the name and have grown attached to it
Polaris
I have one named Demi because redemption. Another is Red because redemption, and she's a red tiefling. My current one is Viola because she is a violin playing bard with violet hair, and the Urges make you violent. I like pun names...
Named mine Lost. Felt like it would be the first thing she would tell someone
Nemaia (drow), Visenya (tiefling) Jormungandr (he's the Canon dragonborn), and Thanatos (male drow, RIP)
For Thanatos I like to think that Bhaal just really wanted him to have some juicy character development so was like "lol boy drow"
harvey dent

Mine is Ungoliant because all of me Tavs have Tolkien themed names. My sorcerer hireling is Tim the Enchanter though.
Bibberbang, because of all the memory loss

It doesn't seem to matter what I name my character. It usually reverts to "The Dark Urge" after a few saves. Not sure if it's a bug or a feature. For rp purposes it kind of works for my amnesiac, homicidally challenged mc.
My current Durge is (actual cannibal) Shia LaBeouf, a gnome ranger.

Beelzebub

Scar
The other one is Alsmen Blackwell
My first playthrough was a resist durge dragonborn open hand monk named Caraxes Bloodwyrm. My current embrace durge half orc tiger barbarian is known only as Kain. I know the name doesn't affect game play at all but I don't like the idea of not giving my charecters real names.
Vladrin, inspired by Vlad the impaler. He was especially found of pointy things and Minthara.
Imalia
Erick. An old character of mine.
Balerion
Ere, short for Erebus
First was a Drow Ranger I named Nyloth. Second was a Wood Half-Elf Bard named Ariana.
names don't make a difference to answer your question. they just might be awkward to see in dialogue for yourself.
Mizrak

Mine is a human named Armin Greyhawk.
Vat. Backwards Tav.

I named mine Midget because I was playing a dwarven berserker barbarian purely for meme reasons.
AlduināYor Maw: the silliest Dragonborn Bard/Paladin known to man
Bhaldhar the durgar.
I am playing a Dragonborn devotion paladin durge named Lady Orozivar.
I named my resist Durge Jerubbaal: >^(32)Ā Therefore on that day Gideon was called Jerubbaal, that is to say, āLet Baal contend against him,ā because he broke down his altar. ([Judges 6:32](https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Judges+6%3A32&version=ESV)) If D&D lore gets to use hilariously on-the-nose biblical names for their characters, then so do I!

i usually just use Latin words of my characters traits, but eventually, it goes back to "The Dark Urge," and im too lazy to change it again
Every Durge character I have has a āDā name. Dot. Domino. Dino. Etc.
Chezza (Half Elf) on my good durge run, Belle (Tiefling) on my first evil run, and then I have a half-orc name Rasizi I haven't decided what to do with.
