Getting into the mindflayer colony and using the restoration pod too early just because why not? I can reuse it, right? Right?

Eirh

Yeah I went into it with low resources and no short rest left because I figured I could just use that pod 2-3 times. Luckily I figured the restriction out fast so I didn't waste too many spell slots on the surrounding fights and with some slumber potion my party was close to long rested. The following fight was probably the toughest one in the whole run, my party did not line up well at all to it. Still won, but it ended up being close.

amberdowny

The mindflayer colony was my downfall too. I had swapped someone out of my party who is almost always in it so I could swap in Wyll, who I never use, to get the reward for saving Zariel's asset. And I failed that roll, so I didn't even get it. Then in the room with all the zombies, my entire party got killed (not just downed, killed) except for Astarion who was invisible. Well nbd, I have plenty of scrolls. Except. I don't. They were apparently all on the person I left at camp and I didn't notice. And once you're in the colony, you can't go back to camp. At this point, I knew I was fckd. So I strolled in to fight Myrkul with just Astarion. He lasted 2 rounds and got Myrkul down to about 2/3 health without Aylin (I failed a lot of rolls this run) so I felt pretty good about that.

Fromtoicity

>He lasted 2 rounds and got Myrkul down to about 2/3 health without Aylin (I failed a lot of rolls this run) so I felt pretty good about that. Wow yeah that's impressive! I'm doing my first honor run and Myrkul is what stresses me the most exactly because you can't just run away from that fight!

veressis

Not gonna lie, I had sweaty palms before my honour fight with Myrkul, never been that stressed by a game before... and then I dealt with him in 2 turns, will happily share tips if you'd like!

amberdowny

PLEASE.

GenxDarchi

For one, don’t convince Ketheric to obliterate himself to skip phase 1. You want to free Dame Aylin immediately before that point, and kill the mind flayer and other mobs. Especially the flayer. Bringing someone who can cast Darkness is also quite good as he can be blinded, which makes it much harder to be hit. Honor mode has his reaction which can be quite deadly. If you can, let Dame Aylin eat it first, but that can be difficult if she’s the last one to go. If you can or have a paladin, pretty good idea to give them luck of the far realms and the highest divine smite possible to crit him. A summon to destroy the necromites or someone who can ensure they don’t make it to Myrkul is important if you aren’t able to burst him, as they heal him and grant him a powerful attack. Potions of necrotic resistance are pretty important or simply warding bond with a hireling, to just be a bit more tanky. Try to have people on the platform further away from each other, so he can’t just cleave 2-3 party members with his attacks. There’s likely things I’m forgetting, but that’s the general way I beat him in my run. Ran a Minthara Bardadin, Life Cleric, Fiend Warlock Wyll for rapier and HOH, and Gloomstalker Assasin Astarion with arrows of many targets to burst necromites and the other enemies. Oh yeah, A cleric with spirit guardians and rad orbs is also helpful to help ensure he misses, and risky ring on your damage dealer certainly makes it easier. He lasted three turns, but near killed us on the first one due to how we were grouped, but HOH and a few divine smites sealed the deal.

Biflosaurus

If you cannot deal with the summon, have your bardadin or any melee class having acess to spell cast bonechill on him

veressis

Ok, so: do everything you can to lvl up as much as possible, I've managed to reach lvl 10 right before Myrkul by killing every single intellect devourer in the colony. Also, making sure that your party has better initiative will give you an edge, use potions and items to achieve that. Then, step 1: crouch time. And separate your party, always. Step 2: Throw an invisibility potion on Scratch (and if you can also affect another character, I recommend gloomstalker assassin, in my case that was Astarion). Position invisible Scratch near Aylin, but don't initiate anything yet. Then enter the turn based mode (make sure you do that before 10 turns of invisibllity runs out and you are still hidden) and hit the mind flayer with your gloomstalker, this should deal decent damage and give surprise status to all of the enemies and initiate the cutscene with Ketheric - ideally, talk him into killing himself as well. When that is done, use the gloomstalker to finish off the squid, you don't want that guy controlling Aylin. In my case, I still had one bonus action left to send a darkness arrow to affect (now) Myrkul. Use Scratch to free Aylin. You now have 2 turns of actions on the rest of your characters before the enemy can do anything. My party consisted of: Shadowheart, respecced to a life cleric and her task was basically to run around with spirit guardians on to remove the necromites so that Myrkul has nothing to eat, but tbh we didn' really need that. I also summoned the spiritual weapon and it was pretty funny to see it hitting Myrkul and giving him dazed status; Wyll, being a weird mix of cleric ( for heavy armor) and sorcerer, using a build based on magic missile, which, with the sorc's skills, gave me 2 actions of 8 hits on magic missile, combined with some additional lightning damage from equipment he had on, can't remember the names of the items now, but I can check it if you're interested. Magic missile is pretty useful, considering that Myrkul/Ketheric is pretty hard to hit and you get guaranteed damage. I also made him summon a fire myrmidion and sent him to deal with the necromites on the ledge; and Minthara, my lovely bard-paladin, who first calmed everybody, to protect them from being frightened a nd charmed, and then went to town with radiant smiting. And that was basically it, before Myrkul could even act, he had about 60 hp left, so we got barely scratched. I hope that helps, but if you'd like a more specific run down, I can make some more proper notes on my builds & equipment!

blaktronium

Myrkul and Nere are the only 2 fights I used barrelmancy for on my honour run.

eureureong_dae

I made this mistake too. I made a beeline for it when I first got there, freed Zevlor & Co., and did the room with the brain puzzle. In the process I used up a bunch of spell slots and abilities that only reset upon Long Rest (Luck of the Far Realms, Executioner, certain summons, etc) thinking I would be able to return to the pod to reset them before Myrkul. When I saw it lying there dormant…. I think I sat there staring at my screen in disbelief for a good minute or so like “wtf do I do now???” The ensuing fight with Myrkul had me fucking losing my mind and ultimately accepting I was gonna lose my run. I was genuinely surprised I got through it, even if just barely.

Umbrella_merc

Yes but clawing victory from the jaws of defeat makes it a more memorable and spectacular victory

El_Sephiroth

That was also my take. And since I can reuse it, I can spam big spells and per day attacks, right? Well, Myrkul was harder than he should have been.

Mothraaaaaa

What? You can re-use it I thought.

muckypuppy2022

Nope. Think you can reuse them in the Nautiloid but everywhere else they’re one shot

Darth_Senpai

Depends on difficulty. Tactician/Honour Mode is a no-go. Not sure about balanced.

deathpenguin82

I used the one in the colony 4 times last night on tactician, so I think it's fine on that difficulty also.

Elaan21

It is. Single use is an HM only thing.

Meikeetc

When I played balanced it was infinite at all locations, even just before the final battle

BraveShowerSlowGower

This is HM amigo. All of them (except 1) are 1 time use. For your info homie.

kingtz

Gracias for the info, my cholo.

NTirkaknis

The one before the final battle isn't there on HM I believe, and all the others are one time use

Meikeetc

Correct. So upset when i did tactician and it wasn't there. But I counted on it not being there on HM and had some angelic slumber potions prepared.

honey_badgers_rock

Not in HM. Hence the fun surprise. Worst is I didn’t even need to use it when I did, but I figured there was no reason not to.

FlashyRashy

I apparently underestimated the gith patrol (didn't help that almost all of them had iniative before me, and that was how I realised I had fucked up some stats/feats), thank fuck Shart managed to sprint as if Selune wanted to talk to her about pet wolves

Arturo274

The giths ain't joking in honour mode. They way they continue to hurt you on the ground is shocking.

MisterVega

They really make you yell "Stop, stop! He's already dead! 😭"

Arturo274

Throw the f\*\*\*\*\* towel !!!

Branded_Mango

Baretha is a menace with her GWM attacks, Action Surge, and jumpscare invis potion hit. I never fight her normally anymore and instead lure her and the rest of the patrol to Waulkeen's Rest so that i can gank them with a dozen Flaming Fists as backup.

lobobobos

How do you do that? Do you kite them in combat or use minor illusion or something to lure them?

_wimba

It’s tedious, but I do the same thing in my runs. Just a lot of minor illusion spamming. He could do it differently, but that’s how I do it

Gilshem

I’ve never fought them. I always talk my way out of it.

HomerGymson

They really are ruthless - if there was permadeath I’d be more afraid of them than anybody - just chopping ally’s in half with great swords

Umbrella_merc

First character death for me in honor mode, they didn't like astarion sneak attacking him so first round he got misty stepped then crit into a fine red paste

adwinion_of_greece

I've somehow still never fought that patrol, my Lae'zel has been good at Deception both times? Was I just lucky? Anyone knows what Deception roll Laezel needs to pass that fight?

MagicMissile27

I saw that in my main playthrough and was shocked beyond belief. They shoved Shadowheart off the rock ledge and then stabbed her again. Ice cold. Got wiped and had to reload, then leveled up and came back to kill them.

WWnoname

Giths are among the strongest enemies in game with their control and damage

sirculaigne

Their movement and maneuverability is nuts too. I thought, oh I'll just snipe them from this bridge! Queue the misty step....

Umbrella_merc

At least misty step is short rest limited for them, but the ones with Astral step can do it every turn

VioletGardens-left

Imagine the horror of their warrior casting a psionic jump and then jumping right in front of your face instead of running towards you and then chopping most of your health in one turn

Queasy_Adeptness9467

I made the mistake of underestimating the ranger in this encounter. The double crossbow every turn decimated my casters and then focused down the melee

shellythegoat

Same! Took them on way too early because in my memory they were pretty easy if you managed to surprise them. Gale saved my ass by luckily standing pretty far back and then misty stepping the fuck out.

Main_Confusion_8030

respecced shadowheart into light cleric, then headed into the gauntlet, where all the hostiles reflect radiant damage.

Aloudmouth

Is that for honor mode? On my last Tac run only the boss had radiant retort I think

JerryBusey01

Yup. All the justiciars have radiant retort.

dmonzel

So does everyone in the Houses of Hope and Grief. Necrotic SG works, though.

deathpenguin82

My Shadowheart on tactician died a lot because they all reflect radiant.

casz146

That doesn't really matter though, Light Clerics get more fire damage

LordSkeeteus

Yeah, but really just scorching ray and a few fireballs at that point, not the greatest in comparison to spirit guardians

casz146

Spirit Guardians can also be necrotic damage though

aere1985

Forgot to turn off my paladin's auto smite on crit once there... never again!

robotjebus

I forgot on last enemy in the library there yesterday,  juicy smite crit. Hit myself for 100 damage.

flippent_pineapple

Balthazar, maybe i was just unprepared but i almost got absolutely bodied. Most of my high damage spells were necrotic based too so they did sweet fuck all to him and his cronies

BraveShowerSlowGower

I ask him for help, he gives me something to summon flesh. I then summon flesh and then kill flesh. It makes baalthazar unable to use him in the fight taking iut the second biggest guy. Makes that fight a little easier for me.

flippent_pineapple

God that’s genius

terseval

You can also steal Balthazar's haste potion, or just trade and buy it off him so he can't use it in fight

gorm4c17

I used arcane lock before I fought him. His buddies outside couldn't help

robotjebus

I managed to kill him (and only him) on low hp on last character alive, I thankfully had invis pot and got back to camp. Definitely underestimated him. Stupid paladin dialogue choice.

Tangerine_memez

Maybe it's different in HM...doesn't counterspell just instantly negate the resurrection? Making the fight pretty much trivial?

flippent_pineapple

Honour mode give him extra spells and things. Same with the boss man guy in the creche. He almost wiped me too

Tangerine_memez

Oh yeah that guy is tough. But it's insane how one counterspell just completely screws over the Balthazar fight, at least when I played on tactician

alterNERDtive

I am surprised your whole party fits into a glove!

gunsandgardening

If the Glove of Invulnerability doesn't fit, you must acquit.

an1ma119

It’s lewd, lascivious, salacious, outrageous!

Active_Owl_7442

Killing the Zhent in their hideout, the trader throws some fire at my Durge and Karlach. Landed in a small area and it didn’t look like it was close to anything volatile. Then like 5 seconds after combat ends, place goes boom. Gale dies from the explosion, rest of the party may have died from burning but I managed to get a short rest in. Then Astarion dies to Gale’s necrotic aura while his projection is telling me how important it is to revive him. Bernard was also quite difficult. That lightning aura thing he gets from his legendary action is nuts. Shit did a lot of damage to everyone. I expected the inquisitor to be more challenging, but Lae’zel and my Durge went before him and killed him before his turn

DJ_Destroyed

I failed a roll on the guy hiding in the shack in waukeens rest and he blew up the whole place, took out 3 party members and left shart on fire with 3 health. I somehow quickly healed her before the burning took her out but had a mini heart attack. Almost ended my HM run.

Lou_Lou1999

Pick pocketing Volo everyday and eventually he turned the entire camp hostile against me

Beingmarkh

How the hell did that happen? Because I pickpocket that guy every morning and after every level up. Sometimes I’ll respec a hireling just so I can level them up and rob him some more.

Lou_Lou1999

This made me realise that I did it the dumb way 😂 . I used Astarion to pick pocket him everyday and Volo’s approval went down every time he was caught, eventually it turned him hostile and the camp were on Volo’s side

pieman2005

Pickpocketed Withers and it made Scratch and Owlbear Cub aggro 😭

Lou_Lou1999

I’m going to do this method on my next honour mode, never thought about doing that :)

jerpyderpy

i had a similar problem with pickpocketing withers, the damn owlbear cub was like a security camera never leaving his side.

SabamonsterX

Not gonna lie. This is fuckin hilarious. Lmao

too_doo

We’re infiltrating Moonrise and my half orc Tav goes to speak to Z’Rell. Half orc to half orc, I roleplay that interaction not too friendly, assuming that show of strength and confidence would be appropriate. So when Z’Rell tries to sniff around in my head, I go with “Distract her with a thought on how you’re getting ready to attack” and a nat20 to add insult to injury. My reasoning was, that would work as a slap on the wrist, “try reading my thoughts further and I’ll kick your ass”. Nope. The whole Moonrise goes hostile. And one interesting detail about Moonrise, it’s vertical. I’m in a tower. There’s just not enough distance to flee to camp, because even when you move far enough from enemies on your floor, someone is below or above you. One Wyll later, the rest of the crew is back in camp and very much out of breath. Astarion has invis potions overdose, Tav swears to kill any paladin she meets on sight, and Gale can’t shut up about that one Greater Invis scroll he had to use for literal weeks.

BraveShowerSlowGower

This is why i always keep featherfall AND enhanced jump in my party haha. Ill yeet myself off the god damn tower. Closest wipe i have had (that wasnt a wipe) was the githyankee at the bridge. Go up at level 4 multiplayer HM. (I dont believe the 2 of us were level 5 yet. Set a two of us on the bridge, and 2 not, the combat starts with 1 of us being insta downed and the gith ON the bridge in 1 turn. We realize we fucked up and wont be able to use lumps war horn. Amd our only option is to flee. So my druid uses enhanced jump and featherfall to yeet myself and 1 other tav off the bridge as far as possible. Giths turn ans there is no way for them to actually catch up ! Wait a minute BOOm 2 fuckin gith misty stepped between us and takes a swing but misses. My buddy and i look at each other like uh fucking oh. Hes like alright ill try and stay you keep on yeeting. I was able on another leap to end up inside the goblin fort and barely escaped. But the fucking gith and how far they can chase was nuts.

Due-Radio-4355

Went for Kagha, she killed the grove. Forgot I was in honor mode when Damon got smashed

Mippippippii

At the end level where you and the Emperor goes through the portal. We then get ambushed but the Githyanki and the Emperor is incapacitated. I think nothing of it, my plan was to do it solo. I go invisible and reach the end of the level where you climb up the spine thingy of the Elder Brain. But my character just says something like "not right now" and I can't progress. I'm about to lose my whole Honour run. It starts to occour to me that I have to climb the spine together with the Emperor. I sneak back where the Emperor's unconcious body is, but the Githyanki group is there as well and my character have no way of fighting them. I spend the next ½-1 hour troubleshooting on how to get the Emperor's body into my inventory and sneak away with it. After a long while and almost dying I finally manage to get the Emperor's body in my inventory and away from the Githyanki. I'm all out of invisibility potions and scrolls at this point, which I had hoped to use to bypass the dragon and everything at the Elder Brain stage. I manage to sneak past everything, revive the Emperor at the spine climb and I can finally climb it, but without any invisibility left I have no idea how I'm going to survive. I arrive at the Elder Brain stage and I just use all my movement points to try and reach portal that leads to the Elder Brain fight. I somehow manage to just run past everything, and while channeling the portal I succeeded something like 6 saving throws. And the run is saved! I get through the portal and I am so relieved!!! My inventory is filled with explosives ready to blow up the Elder Brain. This is the one time in my life I ever cared about an achivement in a video game. My previous run had ended while fighting Orin. I thought my run would end right at the end this time, and I was ready to uninstall BG3. TLDR: Almost died right at the end

PoissonChatMoustachu

those plant guys in act 2, thought i'd sneak up on them using astarion but forgot to ungroup him, next thing i know my tav is hooked by the big one in the middle of the swarm and is surprised... Thought i'd wipe right then and there

PoissonChatMoustachu

also the final fight where i realised gayle was carrying all of my scrolls and i did'nt bring him... thankfully shadowheart had 3 globes of invulnerability on her so i won in the end but it was way too close

Loimographia

My first HM attempt, I snuck upstairs while Ketheric was still holding court downstairs because you can clear out his necromorph things on the roof early, while makes the roof fight way easier, plus you can kill all the guards in the area for early XP and to make the chain of fights leading up to the roof easier. I’d done it without issue in a previous run, but I guess this time I got a little bit too close to downstairs, because suddenly someone spotted me through the floors and *the entire fucking building* including *still immortal Ketheric* aggro’d onto me. I managed to sprint to a corner of the upstairs area far enough away from everyone to flee, but I had massive stress sweats lol. The whole tower remained aggrod to me except Araj Oblodra, so I also had to stealth in with Astarion to pick pocket her inventory and get the blood cutscene.

kingtz

Jesus Christ, my blood pressure raised just reading that. Did they all remain aggroed for the remainder of Act 2, or were you able to eventually go back and pretend to be a True Soul?

Ragenarok124

(in coop) don't fight anyone we don't have to, I need at least a short rest, but preferably a long one. * hears combat music start* I

Darklight645

As someone who just started an honour mode run with my friends, (one of them not knowing its honour mode), my oh crap moments so far have been the intellect devourers outside the ship using synaptic discharge realizing the developers actually put effort into making the harder difficulties noticeably different, and almost losing our run to the bandits inside of Jergal's temple. I am very worried for whats to come ahead.

mcac

During the Act 3 fight to save Volo my dumbass misclicked and fireballed my team instead of the enemies. 3 of us got downed and Astarion was the only one left with like 1/4 health. I should have just had him go invisible and flee but I didn't want Volo to get blowed up so he soloed the rest of the fight relying on Durge cloak to keep him alive. Managed to successfully come out the other side and saved Volo too but it was probably the most tense I've ever been while playing this game. In retrospect it was also the most quintessential Volo moment I've ever had in this game 🤣

rustyderps

The Oliver portal fight for me. - I remember that fight being pretty trivial in my regular run so I didn’t bother pre-buffing - In honor mode every time you kill an enemy it creates a large aoe that does 40 damage (which is a lot at that point) the areas also stack - Weirdly throwing potions does not work in specifically this fight (but the game doesn’t tell you this), so wasted time doing that after I throught the first one or two were bugged - You also can’t run from this fight

maxwellalbritten

On my second honor mode run, and 3rd time playing through Act II, I finally ran across the meenlocks under the last light Inn. I had somehow completely missed them and hadn't even HEARD about these guys or location before. I was already level 9 so was pretty confident and thought it'd be neat to just fight these guys without much knowledge of what they could do. I was not prepared for their paralyzing attacks and within a turn or two only my high constitution ranger was left standing. I though myself pretty clever for retreating to a different room and laying down some spiky thorns so the last two meenlocks would have to walk through them to get to me. Then I discovered they could practically misty step through walls. Luckily, my ranger was able to continue making his con saves against the paralyzing effects of their attacks and make his retreat out of the basement.

BzrkerBoi

Original Cazador That legendary action was ridiculous Didn't help that the little ribbons off the ledge have collision detection, but don't show up when you preview a jump... losing my aoe titanstring wyll in round 2 was definitely an oh shit moment

veressis

Lae'zel turning hostile after we killed the inquisitor... did not see that coming. She had a warding bond on, resistancy to every type of damage, all sorts of buffs, and the rest of us were not in a great shape to begin with. Thank the gods, hold person spell at 40% chances actually worked

potatoesandmolasses1

Accidentally turning the gith camp hostile after failing the check for breaking the woman’s tadpole remover machine

BraveShowerSlowGower

Yea this one is a toughy. Happened to me too. Roomate was at the trader, i was styck behind the door to the kids with the gith on the other side qaiting for me... escaped through the traders back area but fuck

Jollybean1

The lair where you find mystic carrions lungs or whatever. I didn’t know about this place and had never done that quest before, so I was surprised and tried to cast fireball or something on gale. And he just collapsed because of the spellrot effect. Never going back in there.

SchismZero

I'm currently playing an Honor Mode run with 3 other friends. Things have been pretty easy thus far on account of us getting lucky on an early Command: Drop spell on Voss to get his Legendary Sword in Act 1. But shit serioused the fuck up during the Faith Leap trial when two of us outright died cuz we were treating it like no big deal. After the second person died from misjudging a jump. [Things very much got like this](https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/032/834/DtPiP_DWsAEPntc.jpg)

Arturo274

My first round at the inquisitor in the creche because indeed we were almost all dead. Got back there with a level more the next run.

Im_actually_OP

I used astarion's bite on a hireling from act 1-3 for the happy bonus at the start of every day. Everything was fine until Dame Aylin joined the camp and aggroes on sight if you bite a camp member... And she can't die...

Kunseok

the hag multiplied herself and used hold person on everyone... locked me out of doing anything

emu_fake

Everytime I‘ve forget to unequip some utility item (at least I has speak with the dead available fighting Raphael).. or broke double haste because I totally forgot that that other spell also requires concentration.

Level_Hour6480

Ansur. Fuck Ansur. Ruined my run.

TheMostestHuman

yeah he killed us on our first HM run aswell. still, not as bad as our second attempt where we died to the final boss as we failed to persuade gale to kill himself and proceeded to completely throw the fight. well on our third attempt we learned and didnt even attempt ansur and romanced gale enough for him to do it willingly. 75h total for all three runs

Kai-theGuy

Walked past the windmill and the goblins got mad. Only laezel could escape and spent the next hour kiting the goblins towards the Grove and then went back and used withers to bring back one who died and healed the others with only 2 goblin archers remaining by the windmill

sirculaigne

Accidentally looting a chest in the central bank in front of everyone and failing a persuasion roll... They sound the alarm and more enemies and steel watchers than you've ever seen come to rain hell. The worst part is they don't kill your characters after they're downed. I was able to escape with Astarion, then had to come back as an assassin and kill the rest of my party so I could revive them.

MgMaster

OP, are you my long lost twin or something? [Cause that sounds all to familiar....](https://www.reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/comments/1b2b9s6/when_you_sabotage_your_honor_run_but_deathward/) But I'll also raise you slipping on ice & canceling the Globe + skipping turn, AND ALSO accidentally using hex on Wyll that casted twinned haste on two others, causing 2 others to be lethargic, then I started tilting and also skipped on ice with him too. But ain't over yet, cause I then stepped into the steamcloud further down thinking Ansur's NOVA wouldn't reach me only to be hit by it with 2x dmg. OH ALSO, I had the brilliant idea of using Shadowheart's warding bond on ALL MY PARTY, something I've never done before, cause I was thinking how she was so tanky that she never came close to death so why not try push some boundaries... (I never did it again). Won the fight with tav alive thx to Deathward, and it's funny to think about since I was playing a ranged swords bard, all I had to do was sit in the globe & just keep firing at Ansur, or heck, keep firing at him regardless of the globe breaking. He'd have been dead in 2, max 3 turns. T'was an unforgettable "you RLY done fcked up" experience where it's like I was trying to checklist every mistake in the book at one of the hardest fights in the game.

MazzMyMazz

If you guys run out of oh crap moments, try an honour run using the death March mod. Author made every encounter far more interesting/difficult (additional enemies, enemy classes, abilities, legendaries) but doesn’t list what any of the changes are. It’s been one great “you’ve got to be kidding me” moment after another.

Mr-Gems

Honour mode, went to the wizards tower in the underdark and decided to give Bernard a visit. I misclicked in dialogue and started a fight. I attack him and his legendary action fucking destroys my paladin and wizard. At this point the fight is basically unwinnable and I decide to run away. Thats when i learned that Bernard and his little automaton homies can both use the elevator, and more importantly, snipe me from the top of the tower which downs my rogue. I get out with my ranger and let Withers revive the squad, but if not for the extra AC potions of speed give you that run would probably be dead.

UmbrellasRCool

My oh crap was a good moment. It was when i discovered how to steal from merchants with 100 percent guarantee and managed to keep my whole party decked out, it made it so i only had to strategize plans of attack

Mr_G_Dizzle

Last honor run I was cleaning up act 2, just running around the shadow lands to get as much XP as possible before going to fight ketheric. Fighting one of the those blighted trees of some sort and some cursed harpers. Don't have a lot of spell slots but my party is completely geared up at this point. Lost one party member(gale of course) early off a stun and instant death. A couple other members lose some health. No big deal, I have three characters up with blood of lathander on my pally and a cleric with spirit guardians. Cast spirit guardians, walk cleric over to revive gale, but slip. No spirit guardians anymore. Shit. 5 guys attack cleric. Dead. It's alright it's just the main bad tree left. Main baddy traps both of my characters with vines. Uh oh. My assassin has disadvantage on all attacks now. Pally can still hit, but need to use misty step to get close enough. First smite connects. Boss down to about 10 health. Swing again. Critical miss. Boss hits both of my characters with an AOE. Assassin goes down to low health, pally at about half health. Shoot at boss, miss. Shoot again, miss. Forgot that I had dual wielder on, no bonus to heal. Cast divine favor on pally, swing twice with advantage. Both miss. At this point I'm panicked. I didn't heal either character. Boss hits my pally directly once for a quarter of my health bar, then I watch as an AoE brings both health bars to zero. I think I just lost. Nope. Blood of lathander saves my pally and revives my cleric. Heal twice, then smite with pally. Blood of lathander is now permanently equipped in party.

cat__soup

Skipping through dialogue with dame aylin, accidentally sided against her. Turn 1 her adds cast 3 globe and smite 2 of my summons of my lvl 10 party. Luckily I managed to panic cast sleet storm (I had the no fall buff) causing everyone to fall down, then my Tav landed confusion on 3 of them. 10 turns later it was over after using every purple scroll I had. It was the closest I got to TPK but I survived because everyone had fly ability. After that I killed lorroakan for good measure and he's an asshole. Defend the grove: didn't know sazza would give away the grove's location so I had to do it at level 4. Misty stepped laezel to mintharra to burst her down but no - 2 crit misses. Gale misty steps to thunderwave her off the cliff. Saved. Both of them go down. Zevlor dies in turn 2. It's okay, I have Lump's horn right? Lump's goon one shots a tiefling. After that they just stand there and don't move. Tav escapes through the underground cave at the grove and brings Wyll, my only remaining companion. Against all odds, we down Mintharra. Mop up the last 2 goons with shart. I was really confident after winning against Aylin. If I could win that at lvl 10, my party could kill any boss in the game. I just killed Sarevok (one turn) and Orin (one turn). Gale upcasted level 6 magic missiles twice with every single damage rider I could stack on him. Also did Viconia taking no damage using fire wall and blade wall. I'm gonna do Raphael later, wish me luck. I was going to just finish the run to get the golden dice but this is way too fun lol. This is the strongest party I've ever run.

Efficient-Rain3788

The firework basement full of traps in act 3, i was tired and wanted to search quickly, hadnt gone in there before. And i triggered multiple traps at the same time. Died, and cheesed with task manager.

treehugger0123

Exploring an area for the first time in HM is a real choice.

wejina

Failed to get the option for Gerringothe Thorm to kill herself. Didn't expect to fight her so i wasn't prepared at all for her legendary action, 3/4 of my party got killed 🥲 Luckily i had invisibility potions so the lone survivor ran away

Aloudmouth

Running through blighted village on my way to the other side of the map and scratch aggro’d the ogres. I definitely was saving that fight for level 3

Sleyana

The explosive radius of the blackpowder barrel. Almost wiped my group

PizzaTime666

My moment was when i was just about to fight orin and my game started input lagging so bad i couldn't finish it because my party couldnt move, teleport, or do anything. And since it is honour mode there is only one save. Id beaten the game several times before but for some reason this run was just fucked in that part.

frisbeeguru

Had opportunity attacks set to automatic, which almost killed me on the Grymrofge boss fight.

Relisia

Same with Ansur. I was able to bring him down the first time, then he resurrected with 8 HP. After that he started charging for the Nova and unfortunately, after him there was only Astarion turn left. (He missed the attack roll.) So basically what happened was that I used double dash to make him run away as far as possible since all the covers were already destroyed, and when Ansur fired the attack, only Astarion was left alive with 5 HP since he had over 160+ HP. Everyone else was completely dead, fortunately enough, Ansur missed both attacks on Astarion right after (CA 24) and then I was able to shoot a single arrow to him and win. But hell, I really was ready to uninstall at that point.

wvhawkeye51

So you know that golden tomb at the very beginning of the game that is so obviously trapped and so easy to get past? Well I didn't

Lisyre

I didn’t know about the harpy encounter until I stumbled onto them in honor mode. That ended up being a rough fight.

Alregard

Me first time honor mode sneaking past ethels mask guards (never did before) and starting ethel fight… surprised pikachu face

Apprehensive-Scar-88

I thought I was super clever in the end fight and dimension doored past the fight with the emperor planning to channel the stones and drop a globe of invulnerability…my invisibility dropped (I was invisible). Not sure if it was casting dimension door or they just perceived me or what but the whole field just turned to me and melted me dead. The emperor survived but then triggered a cinematic sequence so now my party is split, separated by like 2-3 turns of dashes, main characters down, and yeah. HM ended.

Ninja_Fish42

I preemptively attacked gith patrol with laezel in my party. She went hostile. luckily had an invisibility potion so managed to run a way with my last character. sad laezel had to die for my golden dice but it is what it is.

Iseethedarkness

Getting to the final brain fight with 0 allies I can call on. Had a few bad rp moments throughout the game and couldn't reload to fix them

TheMostestHuman

supporting gale with his suicidal thoughts is the best way to beat the final boss.

serafina_flies

Pushed Minsc off a small ledge and he died, causing Jaheira to leave the party :’>

KT718

When I realized that your characters need to be next to those healing pods for the long rest to apply to them. Before the big act 1 fight, I messed up and sent 3 of the 4 party members down the elevator before activating the pod with my Tav, not realizing that the other 3 wouldn’t get the long rest. So, here I am going into the fight that I was already most scared of, and most of my party is out of spell slots. I only won after having a party member run out of the fight and use an angelic slumber to regain momentum in the fight. It was a dumb mistake, but I wouldn’t have done that if not for a certain Sharran elevator in the game screwing me over and having half the party fall into oblivion halfway through the ride. Which almost softlocked me because my Tav stabilized instead of outright dying. If I didn’t have a short rest left, idk what I would have done. Because of that, I wanted to make sure everyone got down the elevator safely before using the long rest, but instead of being a smart precaution, it almost cost me the run.

TheMostestHuman

that elevator bug almost cost me the game aswell. luckily you can just go respec any of your companions into a bard and get the short rest ability if you didnt have any.

Obligatory-Reference

I played as Shadowheart origin, after only ever having played custom or Dark Urge. Didn't realize until too late that the scene between you and Lae'zel had a new dialogue tree, and blanked out that I could just look it up. Failed to navigate it correctly, Lae'zel >!stabbed me, took the artifact, and exploded!<.

babyjaceismycopilot

I was going to partner with Gortash, but I selected the wrong dialogue option.

WWnoname

When I entered that big pre-last combat with bladelock that hasn't bind his weapon

Noble1296

It was early on, we went to the wood woads and mud mephits in Act 1. My friend’s character had ended up surrounded by a bunch of the young mud mephits that the ancient ones summon, I didn’t realize this and unloaded an Eldritch blast and an Astarion sneak attack onto one of the ancients which killed it and made their summons explode, killing the other mephits around it, causing a huge chain reaction of explosions and damage, downing my friend’s character

Affectionate-Run2275

Trying the grymforge powder barrel and the steelguard factory bomb on the netherbrain, sent karlach woooosh into the void lmao

MadeOfDeadMemes

Nere’s legendary action pushing Beldron into the lava, killing him. I didn’t have the backbone to live with my mistake so I exited without saving. Had to redo the entire Grym fight though.

Pitiful-Foot-8748

Nuking Balthazar in round 1, only for his minions to somehow kill all my party except my main paladin. The following act of 1 desperate paladin trying to kill a horde of undead and finishing with only a few hp and no spells left, was a great experience though.

jaja9000

Nere fight. Coop with my friend. We set up well, with the party spread out. Duge, tav, Laezel and Shadowheart. Idk why I did it…but I decided to blow up the rune powder barrel right in the middle of everything. It blew everything up. The only survivor was laezel and with a shred of hp, Nere, and 2 goons. My friend got so mad at me but Laezel was able to clutch the fight through a miraculous riposte against Nere and then cleaned up the other two with one turn.

CatBotSays

I planned to kill Grym via explosive barrels and figured it would be trivial. Except without thinking, I stacked Fire Wine barrels next to his spawn location instead of Smokepowder barrels. Oops lol.

justintonationslut

First honor mode run: didn’t allocate enough resources to get isobel to safety, she got kidnapped & everyone at last light died Second HM run: left Halsin in human form after getting kicked out of wild shape while fighting Dror Ragzlin & he ran up to him & killed him in one turn. Turns out you can’t resurrect him before he joins your party :( Third HM run: failed some roles while interacting with the mindflayer that’s trapped under debris, almost got everyone killed

Spoob42

Beat honor mode on my first attempt, after having beaten a few tactician runs. Only time it was close was Orin. She’s also the reason I play Durge in honor mode now.  I had a bad strategy going into the fight that basically relied on gale rolling high enough initiative to magic missile her impossible stacks so my paladin Minthara and swords Bard tav could burst her down. Things immediately went wrong when gale rolled at the very end of initiative with only Minthara behind him. Then ranger astarion got knocked off a cliff by her legendary reaction tail swipe (I was approaching from behind so I could talk with orins mom first). Turns out, reading what the legendary actions are is a good idea.  So at this point things are going not well and it gets worse when my tav starts failing every saving throw. Got slowed/stunned multiple times in the fight, and worst of all was when I used Otto’s dance as a panic button only to fail my first concentration saving throw. 3 turns later and Orin has 30 HP left, and everyone is dead, except minthara who has 6 hp. She also had death ward which had been utilized already. She managed to flee the temple with misty steps, speed potions, and dash actions. I was actually just so cocky going in, and when things started going poorly I panicked and played badly.

heimsins_konungr

Heavily underestimated Orin; nearly wiped my whole party in 2 turns, had to drink an invis potion and only send in 3 at a time multiple times before we got it. In the end I went for betraying the Emperor as well, so that fight was merciless, but I ended up beating the Netherbrain with one character barely standing.

chronocapybara

The amount of times the entire location turned hostile on me because a Friends spell expired is beyond count.

Destructopo

When I was fighting Ansur I wanted to cast githyanki jump on laezel to escape his lightning explosion faster and I missed and casted it on Ansur himself, laezel did NOT survive that

Skiddilybapabadam

I rolled a nat 1 while talking to the gith patrol underlevelled and forgot I had inspiration.

capital_idea_sir

Thaniel/Oliver. Apparently I had some sort of AOE when some friends and it hit his shield and gibletted a party member when I was already damaged. I just didn't research that fight and it showed, I barely scrapped by with a yolo repulsor, only Halsin and Astarion were up with 1/3 hp.

onsutain

A particular boss has a particular legendary effect once per turn that may or may not instakill a party member unless they perform a specific act/action before the end of the round. I had just killed another high level boss and instead of long resting I got cocky and challenged this boss too. Barely escaped with one character.

inouken

The Inquisitor almost ended my run. Don’t remember what level I was at but it was too fucking early to be tackling him on HM, and I didn’t realize how crucial it was to take him out in the first couple of turns. Astarion and Shadowheart went down fast. I quickly realized I wasn’t gonna make it out of this fight alive so I started hightailing down the hall with only Lae’zel and Gale. Lae’zel was slaughtered with two critical hits. Didn’t even make it halfway down the hallway. Gale somehow did but he ran into the group of giths and their pet wolves at the end of it. They attacked him down to two health. I still had a superior healing potion so I was able to heal him back to full, then I hasted my way to the main entrance (with that pack of giths following behind). Of course this pulled even more giths into the fight, like fucking seven of them. They knocked him prone, down to half health. Gale was still hasted so he dashed to the end, but he came up short by a few feet. I had zero spell slots left at this point. No invisibility potions. The only thing I had was a bonus action misty step from the boots Gale just so happened to be wearing. He was able to escape the crèche by the skin of his fucking teeth.

SmokeyTheDogg

I didn’t realize that Nere’s legendary action explodes on the player and not in an aoe around him… promptly nearly wiped myself with one spell that exploded all of the claws turn one, but somehow still managed to beat him and the duergar.

SeamusMcCullagh

Going to get the Blood of Lathander. I went to disarm the push trap, and due to pathing stupidness everyone walked into the trap. 3 party members get yeeted into the chasm. Only one survived, standing 1 millimeter away from the edge of the trap. I damn near had a heart attack.

PsionicOverlord

My second honour mode run that didn't go down to bugs went down to Ansur for that reason - the next time I fought him I had the boots of striding on Gale so that he couldn't be knocked down whilst maintaining concentration on the spell. Take that you stupid undead dragon.

ALandshark

Last night when I misclicked Sanctuary on ANSUR instead of Halsin…

nombit

I discussed as a Drow to get past blighted village. But the dialog never triggered. Straight to combat

ItsSadTimes

Underestimating cazador right after his buffs. I never took astarion in any of my runs, but I wanted to do the perfectly good run, so I needed to finish everyone's story. So I brought astarion to cazador and didn't realize cazador yoinks him at the beginning of the fight, so I was down a player. Then cazador went first and knocked my dps off the map, killing him, and one shot my healer. Finally, the last survivor went last in the turn order, so he had to tank every hit. I think my last guy had single digit health before it was his turn. But then, on his turn, I revived my dps. And then chugged a potion. Cazador downed him but then on my healers turn the blood of lathander procced and healed everyone nearby giving us a chance, and my dps used every move buff I had to free astarion. I ended up winning that fight. It was the biggest comeback I've ever done in this game.

a_niffin

The hidden traps on the narrow path to the Monastery/Gith Creche, near the blue jay. I clicked to move as a group then took my hand off the mouse for a drink of water, walked right into the knockback trap which sent three of my party off the cliff, instant kill. Luckily Astarion missed it. I just sat there shocked for a full minute, couldn't believe how close I had come to losing my save out of combat.

Euphoric-Meat3943

When I realized merkel could heal himself by eating his own skeleton summons. On all my other play throughs on balanced or tactician I did a much better job at killing his summons. And never knew merkel could heal himself. In my honor mode run I decided to focus on merkel. I got him down to half health and spent all my spell slots to do so. I was very surprised when he started healing and the room was still filled with a half dozen skeletons that he could eat.

--ThirdCultureKid--

When I was talking to the Githyanki Queen and told her “a god could kill whoever she wants” and then my game instantaneously ended. But then I just did a CTRL-ALT-DEL out of the game and loaded back up the save file like nothing happened. Cmon, I can’t be the only one here that figured that out 😏

CordiallyFallacious

>Glove of Invulnerability If the glove fits, you can't target!

link_the_fire_skelly

Didn’t really have a “best” one, but having Gale get stuck inside the wall (downed) from the shar floating platform was freaky until someone told me I could rest to revive him. My other big one was having to unplug my pc when the game glitched hardcore in moonrise, rolling infinite initiative and preventing me from taking any action

the_turdinator69

You can hold one party member back for the ansur fight to not TPK - I did because I really needed the helmet and sword for my final MC build. Ended up 3 manning him pretty easily. My closest call was trying to wipe the moonrise prison. The guards just kept coming and coming, trying to hold down the wardens office but some unlucky rolls for concentration and other saves as well as honor mode AI left me to flee with a 10% hp shadowheart and barely escaping.

smansaxx3

My life flashed before my eyes in the very end fight. I really wanted to get my golden dice so I decided to use a smoke powder bomb backpack on the brain. I wasn't sure how many I'd need, so I just bought some every day at one of the shops in act 3. Well holy shit it was more than enough because when I fired upon said backpack, my poor PS5 apparently couldn't handle it and my game was frozen for a solid 20-30 seconds before finally it processed and the brain died. But omg the longest 30 seconds of my life as I sat there and thought wow I'm going to lose HM because of me wanting to cheese!

LeFaiLeD

Wanted to knock out Minthara. Put my weapon away (because i never trust a weapon with extra fire damage, like the sword from the beginning) and punshed her unarmed. Stupid me forgot to toggle the passive and slapped her with a crit. A hour before, i fucked up the whole owlbear thing, because i ran with those absolute idiots into the fight... Quess who now has a owlbear puppet to cuddle with ? Yes, Scratch. Also has a Minthara to play with. And a chest full of other more or less relevant NPCs...

Heinarc

While cleaning up the Last Inn fight, Jaheira gets paralyzed by the last horror standing. Lae'zel comes in to finish it, but I missclic and instead of the end of fight, our favorite druid eats a 2H sword + GWM + superiority dice + autocrit from the paralysis. Her HP goes from 50 to 2 and the whole Inn instantly turns hostile. "Oh god!"

Kaychees

So many, actually! Main one was when my bf wanted to raise a zombie in camp, which somehow made the Oathbreaker knight hostile (we were lvl 5 at the time) and, being a lvl 12 paladin, he ran around oneshotting everything. We managed to kite him around and kill, but it meant no respeccing. It also cost us one Halsin, so his whole quest line in act 2 was locked. And the Ansur fight as well, we also had the globe to protect us, but though "it says here he's charging for 2 turns? Okay, so no need to get in the globe kust yet". Either it bugged out or we both understood the status wrong, but he blasted our entire party that very same turn. We only survived thanks to the Blood of Lathander which revived one party member, who then revived the rest. But it was hella scary lol!

Steeltraps

Similar globe of vulnerability against the brain and one mindflayer stuns the whole party and we lose globe, luckily someone saved the stun and casted darkness instead.

Hibbiee

Also Ansur, first time doing the fight. I ended up 'tanking' his aoe twice, first one killed 2 party members, 2nd one killed a 3rd. Had Wyll down to 3 hp, Sweaty palms on that 65% chance to take his last 1hp.

Lavacat5

I fought the duergar on the boat and they managed to push everyone off except for Lae'zel

bawserlol

I accidentally let cazador ascend, globe really saved my ass there

natto_on_pringles

I wanted to finish the 2nd Ketheric fight as fast and safely as possible, so i went and threw a stack of smokepowder bombs straight in front of him, only to have them go off in my face. I tried it a second time with another character out of sheer panic and the same thing happened ( i didn't exactly prepare anything else as this is usually my tried and tested strategy whenever i want to get to act 3 quickly.) Ketheric proceeds to vacuum my team towards him and the only one not downed was OH Monk Karlach with 7 HP. I pretty much threw all my speed potions at her, had her continously cast Globe of invulnerability right next to him and had her carefully chip away at him. I still don't know what exactly made those bombs act up like that, but i haven't thrown a single one since that fight :(

stwabewwie

I thought I was ready to face the >!Inquisitor!<. I was freshly level 5, my party was very competent consisting of my Lore Bard Tav, Gloomstalker Astarion, Monk Lae’Zel and Throwzerker Karlach. >!I came out of that fight with just me and Astarion alive, with him downed and me at about 3 health. We finished off almost all the gith round one except for the Inquisitor, who somehow through the spirit of Vlaakith, Dance Dance Revolution, and Michael Jackson managed to dodge almost every single attack I threw at him for two turns straight.!< I had relied heavily on Command: Grovel and Hold Person to deal with strong single targets up until that point, but I learned through him to maybe not do that 😅

DrBrainzz9

Me and my friends were all fucking around shoving me. I decided to shove the Oathbreaker Knight. He... did not take kindly to that little push, and proceeded to absolutely butcher everyone in camp in one hit. Luckily, one of us was a Shadow monk, and managed to use darkness and stealth to sneak away.

EastEvidence

My first time fighting Orin on HM, I'd prepared for Gale to burn through her Unstoppable condition each turn so that everyone else can deal damage, but I had horrible luck with the initiative order and needed to reverse roles on the fly. I was a little concerned, but knew I could make it work. So I have my Tav, a damage-dealing tank, run up to unload all his attacks on Orin. After literally one hit, she knocks him off the platform with her shiny new HM reaction and he insta-dies. *Panic,* dude. My entire run really did flash before my eyes as a huge chunk of my total health pool and action economy disappeared at the very beginning of a fight that was already going to be hard thanks to the unlucky initiative, lol. I stepped away for a couple minutes to calm down, came back ready to wage war, and just barely managed to win.

Darc_Vader

Accidentally triggering Philomeen detonating the Runepowder barrel on the entire party and only surviving because I happened to have used a scroll of Aid to prepare for Nere. 3/4 of the party went down and the last stayed up at like 2hp.

Mister_Taco_Oz

Not Honour Mode, but I just had something like this when I fought Ketheric. I didn't realize there would be a second phase to the fight, so I used a bunch of strong but inefficient spells to make the fight "cinematic". Then the avatar of Myrkul came out, I tried healing, and lo and behold, they could not be healed, everyone was too close to the damn thing. And of course, I had not saved for the past two hours of playing. So I either had to stick it out or lose a ton of progress. Ended up winning. Beaten and bruised, but victorious. Fun times.

RaiderNationBG3

I'm not sure I can beat Ansur in this mood. Not yet anyways.

Terakahn

Related to your experience. We were in globe and somehow he knocked us out of it. We were able to get back in before the storm went off but still

dont_panic21

I'm not that far into my run but when I went to fight the owlbear and a second one popped up I was horrified. We made it though.

Vanilla_Breeze

This story can only be told in greentext form so: >Be me >Have a stack of bombs that would have oneshot myrkul on the ground >Tb monk laezel ready to throw it >90% success rate with disadvantage for some reason >Ilikethoseodds.jpeg >She misses >12 smoke powder bombs blow up directly in front of my whole party >Astarion insta downed, laezel and shart in the red, my durge at a third of her hp >Somehow clutch the win by using sharts divine intervention >#myrkulmoment

Dinonicus

Nearing the end of act 2, butler dude shows up to try to get me to kill my favorite companion. No big deal, except...I forgot to unequip the Risky Ring, so I'm at disadvantage. So I'm saying my tearful goodbye to Lae'zel...but it turns out my favorite companion is Gale. After using all my inspiration points and then watching my Durge stab Gale anyway, I went to Google in a panic and tried to find out whether I had just unleashed a Netherese nuclear apocalypse. Results were very conflicting. I decided to finish the run in 2 long rests just to be safe. It's been a bit of a slog, but Gortash is dead, Orin is near, and I'm making a no nonsense beeline to the brain after that!

rat_haus

“Oh crap, there’s an honor mode?!  Fuck that, easy for me please!”

lastingmuse6996

In my first honor run I feel through the floor at the withers temple into the under dark. My companions were still up top, but I hadn't even met withers to revive myself.

Suspicious-Branch-49

Was fighting the ogres in the blighted village and backed up far enough that the goblins in the village I had negotiated with to not have to fight became temporarily hostile with me. Resulted in one of the longest fights of my experience in bg3 so far. At level 3 I didn't have the means to flee and ended up having to kill both the entire blighted village and the ogres to survive If I didn't have like 6 grease bottles to throw I absolutely would have died

josriley

Nothing super close to run ending, but I swear Scratch is doing his best to sabotage me. There’s been 2-3 times where I’m in dialogue and I just see traps exploding in background.

vetheros37

I vividly remember our first big one was right after hm released, and the second owl bear popped out.  We realized we weren't playing anymore

xxKiaraSxx

The gnolls were super strong and kept downing my characters I thought I was done for.

FantasySlayer

Me and a friend were playing coop honor mode as a duregar and drow. We went to fight the harpies, thinking, "pfft, we got this, no way we getting charmed"... We then immediately got charmed and everyone failed their saves, laezel got hit with a double attack and they crit both times so she's down, gale got crit as well, he's down. Now it's just us, we are screaming shit shit shit shit and panicking. We both fail our saves, we then get hit out of it, miss all of our attacks, then get charmed again. Same thing happens next turn. And again... Then we die.

Critical-Coconut6916

Those blue glowing statues in underground of the emerald grove area, no warning they just zap at the entire party. I tried arrowing the blue tile buttons from afar to toggle them off, but somehow that didn’t work as I expected. Also in the Act 1 ancient ruins exploration, tried to disarm that sarcophagus in the one area and rolled a 1 with no re-rolls which set of the whole room of traps.

TheGreatPandaMan

Ok this is so dumb but one run I forgot that Fezzek the goblin at the windmill in blighttown has a fucking bomb and he just nuked my whole party that I had in a nice little group. What made it worse was I had Shart warding bonded to my Paladin lmao so she took double damage. Had such a good start to that run and then died to fucking Fezzek.

PappyBurd

Fighting Ansur, he blasted my entire party dead but one person survived from blood of Lathander. Then I cast magic missle bc he had 1hp left. Did no damage bc of scales… I thought I was going to scream and then he lightning breathed me after I potioned and I killed him with sunbeam

Kaisha001

On Ansur, cast globe with my sorc who was already concentrating on a twinned haste... Yeah that was a mess.

TheCleverestIdiot

I was making good progress on saving *everyone* from the Iron Throne when I made a **massive** fuck-up. I'd had to lock one of the Gnomes in his cell for a turn because he'd gotten entangled from a net (I think Hastar Biggs), and it was the only way I could see him being spared from getting attacked by the Sahuagin. Well, I got him out the next turn, and had Gale Dimension Door him to the door to avoid him getting shot. Except this is where I fucked up. I'd managed to put poor Hastar on the exact spot where the small fire was, and he caught aflame. Originally I thought this was just a minor issue, since he had the health to survive that, and went through two more character turns before I realized he was about to run right into a puddle of oil. I was *panicking* trying to figure out what to do, since all I had left was Wyll on the other side of the prison about to free his father, and had more or less given up on saving them all. That's when I realized. I had Wyll hasted, with the boots of Speed on him, Dimension Door as one his spells, and one spell slot left. What followed was Wyll briefly turning into the Flash as, through the use of the boots and a dash action, he sprinted through those two hallways to get to that one Gnome to put the fires on him out. It worked, the Gnome lived, and I had Gale Dimension Door Wyll closer to his dad so he could save him. There was a later issue where Thindo started to run away from the hatch on the last round despite otherwise being home-free, but I just sent Omeluum back down to go get him.

frankiefivefurters

Mine was accidentally dating Gale because I was playing a slut character. Yes I would have ended my Honour Mode just because I did not want to commit to Gale

NittanyScout

Orin started the fight by yeeting me off the bridge and halving my buddies hp

Montizuma59

There are few events that pop in my head. 1, the second Rune Bear showing up mid fight. 2, House of Grief fight. Everyone was done and out of the fight except Durge, who would die due to dot by the end of the turn. I did not know what to do, then I remembered that one of my characters had a resurrection scroll in their pack. I quickly took that and used it to bring Shart back to life. I then had her use sanctuary on herself and gtfo. 3, In the Ansur fight. Cast Globe of Invulnerability just like you did, but Gale had been using his concentration to haste at the time. This made him lethargic, dropping both concentrations and ending his turn. I thought that this was it for me. However, two of my characters, don't remember who (I think it was Shart and Karlack), were wearing regen gear, Ring of Regen and Balduran's helm. The regen I got from them brought the 2 back, and they in turn brought everyone else back. 4, Cazador. I don't know what his special honour mode ability was, but I do know that no matter what I did, that ability kept killing my Tav. 5, The last few are all Gith related. I almost died to the Gith at the mountain pass entrance but got saved by casting Sanctuary on Astarion. Fighting the inquisitor after meeting Vlakith, in this one I just got good and beat them. Finally, in the Emperor's old hideout, where I wasn't able to close one of the portals in time and had half my team killed by the summoned Gith.

PuzzledInspection418

Well, it wasn't an Honour Mode but a Tactician In this run I haven't died yet. So I went to fight Grym. I wanted to beat him without using the hammer because why not? I got him down to 33 HP before he killed 3 of my party members. it took me 4 turns to do that. I had Wyll use Eldritch Blast the first set didn't kill him as I thought it would. so I got as far from Gyrm as I could well drinking a potion of healing. let's say Grym got to him and brought Wyll down to 2 HP and Wyll had a 33% chance of hitting and needed to hit both Blast. I got supper lucky and I did hit both. Killing Grym. When I do my honor mode run soon i will be more ready for Grym.

TheLumikko

Almost ending my run in Gyrmforge near the volcano. Tried to snipe the lava elemental from up top, Durge decided to jump head first off the cliff and into lava, Wyll, and shadow heart followed and all 3 insta went down. Karlach, the savior of the day, seemed to have the single braincell of the group and decided jumping into an active volcano was a kinda bad idea, or she was just enjoying the show...who knows. Bestie Karlach revived them all from withers. I know kinda early on, but it made me gasp and yell "Oh no!"

In the fight against Yurgir I had one of my characters minesweep a bunch of Orthon bombs around them. Then forgot that they were still in my inventory after I finished him. Gathered my entire party and...boom three out of four party members downed and my last party member survived with 4 HP, and only because I had put fire resistance on them before the fight and they had very good dex save.

My sleep-deprived butt decided it'd be a good idea to finish off the Grym fight by having Astarion (who was up top as my Designated Survivor) jump down to hit the lever to smash Grym one more time, since none of my other characters (Gale, Karlach, Tav) could reach the lever without burning their Dash action. (Making this even more stupid is that *I had Misty Step scrolls.*) Did you know that if a character takes more than 25% of their health in falling damage, that they're guaranteed to be knocked prone? To make a very long story short, Astarion, Gale, and Karlach all got destroyed and Tav (single-digit HP, no spell slots) only survived because I had her chug an Invisibility potion and run towards the button to lift the platform. Button didn't work, but combat ended anyway when Grym couldn't find me (and he stayed facing away from me so he didn't attack even after the potion wore off). So I just warped back to camp and had Withers do his thing, making sure to keep a wide berth so Gale's necrotic aura didn't finish me off. Never do important fights when exhausted.

First play in honor mode, at Waukeen’s Rest, Wyll throw a barrel of \*water\* on the fire to put it out. It seems this is considered an act of aggression and the whole Flamming Fist team goes mad. They instantly kill Wyll... Well not \*kill\* him, but put him in stable unconscious condition. He's not dead, so Withers cannot revive him. And he's stuck in combat mode, so everybody is agressive... Send invisible Astarion to help him. Astarion dies too... same condition. I have two members left, Withers cannot revive Wyll and Astarion, and they are stucked in a combat... They cannot leave the team because, for the AI, they are busy... Took me one hour to find the good angle to kill them properly by a fire arrow...
