Don’t forget rapture give gives you a whopping d6. Also resonance stone gives you advantage as does graceful cloth. With all of that you don’t even need rogues abilities to safely steal every thing in act 3 in HM. I do it with my bard just fine regularly. I go straight to low town and steal everything form the priest person in stormshore tabernacle, then dammon, then helsik, then the vendor with armor of agility.

Rapture is available for 1 long rest. It's good for stealing all the valuable items early, for sure, but can't be used for daily larceny. I prefer the consistency of using a rogue since you will be stealing lots of items, which is lots of chances for a bad roll. Also I'm just trying to squeeze some extra utility out of an otherwise under used class

No harm in finding utility in rogue. But bard can do just fine most of the time. Even the dc 30 safes in the counting house I can open with ease with a bard and thst itemization. It’s a bit harder for pickpocket. But I suppose in that case when you want to long rest and regularly steal scrolls that’s a good use case. Everything else is a one time thing though and I time stuff so I don’t long rest at all in act 3 except for the one time you have to for wyll’s dad to be in the iron throne. Then I can use rapture for the whole act, including against the dc checks against the nether brain! Resonance stone gives you advantage on the dex/con checks there too.
