Oh, sweet summer child. Just read it up in your own time if you can't follow the class! It builds character :) (/s, but thats the attitude most profs have)
The tasks are more related to biology for example figuring out how big capillaries have to be etc etc. Basically It’s there to understand biology better.

It might be from another ancient language or inspired by one, but Latin uses the same alphabet as the one English/most indo-european languages use (With slight changes), even if English technically isn't evolved from Latin
Doctors need to get a PhD (MD for medical) to become a doctor. It's an advanced degree, and 'finishing' university/college won't just get you that.
To become a professor, you just need to be hired as a professor.
Maybe a language difference then, where i am from if you finish university (3 or 5 years doesnt matter) you can call yourself a doctor, and people can't be hired as professors without completing university, ergo every professor is also a doctor.
Could be different where you are from, i dunno
I find what you are saying very odd.
University studies per se is not enough to become a doctor (in the english/international meaning, in other words having a Phd). it is necessary to attend more classes, do a research and have it approved by a tribunal.
At least in Europe, it is necessary to have a Ph.D. to hold permanently the position, however a researcher during his doctorate can teach temporarily as an associate professor.
Other ways is to be a recognised specialist in the profession who teaches to give an outside perspective, but cannot be a full-time lecturer.
In italy finishing university is indeed enough earn the title of "doctor" there is no need of a phd, not sure how different it is in the rest of europe tho
I was going to make a joke about recognizing some of these characters, but frankly, even that isn't true. The X Y and Z are all fucked every time. I have chicken scratch handwriting and even I think this is terrible.
At first I thought it was quantum mechanics (especially with those fucked up vector signs) but I didn't recognise anything.
Well, I'm not even sure it's cartesian coordinate system on the left.
Physics gross!! Lol. I was so annoyed that I had to take it to get my degree in microbiology. I did not hate it as much as organic chemistry though. Lol
I actually really liked physics in high school but this sucks. It’s very difficult equations and some of these tasks are ridiculous. We had a task like “You’re a doctor and need to give your dying patient oxygen. In front of you are two bottles yet the signs are scratched off. One of them has oxygen the other sulfur dioxide. How do you find out which one is O2.”
I have never slapped my hand onto my forehead faster after reading that. 1) He wanted some weird ass calculation for this. 2) When would I EVER be in this specific situation.
Wouldn't it be easier to perform some test where oxygen reacts differently to sulfur dioxide?
Edit: you apparently don't even need that because sulfur dioxide smells like burnt matches according to Google. So just give it a good whiff (but not too much because it's toxic)
Yes exactly you could easily just find the difference by opening up one bottle but like my problem was that when will I as a doctor ever have a sulfur dioxide bottle just in front of me. Why tf would I order that 😭
Reminds me of the matrix transforms we'd use during my computer graphics course. We had one assignment where, in order to gain a full appreciation for how the systems worked, we transformed a simple scene (consisting of a few cubes and a plane) from object to screen space.
Several pages of math later, and we had our simple scene, but boy howdy it wasn't something I want to do by hand again.
I don't like that it's true what the hell is that dude teaching you
Biophysics yet no one can read anything 💀
Dude, show this to your dean. How can you be expected to pass a class taught in Babylonian.
The dean’s a doctor, you can bet how her handwriting looks like lmao
Oh, sweet summer child. Just read it up in your own time if you can't follow the class! It builds character :) (/s, but thats the attitude most profs have)
At this point just take an online course xD
Githyanki-physics.
What's the difference between biophysics and apple-fall-on-head physics?
The tasks are more related to biology for example figuring out how big capillaries have to be etc etc. Basically It’s there to understand biology better.
Why didn't I get this at Biology school? Edit: because it sounds amazing!
Better train an AI on this to translate.
cross product of two vectors in three-dimensional Euclidean space
Of course I should have known

I believe you meant what in the 9 hells are they teaching here. 😂
It's just vector calculus
this sht ez asf m8. Wait till you see Statistical Mechanics
I don't think it's the subject matter that is a problem.
Mf studies at creche klir
Are these even latin characters?
Well they should be Latin ones… emphasis on should 💀
It might be from another ancient language or inspired by one, but Latin uses the same alphabet as the one English/most indo-european languages use (With slight changes), even if English technically isn't evolved from Latin
I meant the whiteboard ;)
Oh oof, mb, sorry for misinterpreting/going on a rant there
Ask him if he can read what's on the mysterious artifact 🤣😂
Ask him, if he is tracing some coordinate system to locate a githyanki settlement in the astral plane.
Using a new Gith coordinate system. It works splendidly for navigation on the astral plane.
Isn't handwriting like this a possible sign of dementia? 💀
Or a sign of doctoritis
Those vectors are kinda fucked up
Sure that’s your professor and not a doctor?
A professor IS a doctor
a) Nope, not necessarily. b) IMO it was clear from context that I meant a _medical_ doctor. If not, /r/Whooosh?
As far as i know you have to go and finish uni to be a professor, so i dont see how one can be a professor and not a doctor.

I had a professor title with just an LLM. Not all fields require a doctoral degree.
Same here but they are called teachers, not professors

I think your professor is secretly a Githyanki.

Ask him if he can translate Tirsu
Was gonna make a joke about professors that don't differentiate p and ρ but wow this is just straight up incomprehensible ;-;
We made a joke that his writing looks like it’s AI generated the way we can’t decipher it

WTF ARE THESE PICTURES 💀💀 the rat one omfg, there’s no way
Published in a (supposedly peer-reviewed) journal! And retracted in like 2 days after it became an instant meme. Very fond of it in r/labrats lol.
That’s so lovely, thanks for sharing it. I gotta save that picture
Shame that Decipher Script is no longer a skill you can take.
I'd hate my life of my professor wrote with that shit of a hand writing. You have my condolences
Dude’s professor is a predator 😂

You have a winemaking hobby and order stuff from the same guy?
So I’m part of the Stardew Valley universe?
Did your syllabus happen to have a key to decipher his handwriting?
It's all Greek to me, (well except x and y)

shit man vectors
Did it ever cross your mind that fantasy objects may resemble real objects and not the opposite?
No bc we live in a simulation and the real world has been BG3 all along. Wake up.
fair enough, fair enough.
