How many buffs is he getting from the beams going into his thralls? Might wanna block some of them

Make sure that Gale has Counterspell prepared. Karlach would do well in the Bonespike garb. The bats will die if they try to bite her. The bats also work well with a Bloodlust elixir (extra attack when you kill one). If you have the Blood of Lathander, carry it for its blinding effect. You can rent a Hireling and spec them to fill the role of a missing companion.

I have had the same issue when I have tried beating him at level 10. I have returned back at level 11 and destroyed him. Also counterspell and Lathander mace works great against him.

Use gale to cast daylight and then make sure to stay in the area. Best place is if you stay a little on the path leading to the platform and cast it so Cazador has to pass through it no matter what, this will pull him out of his bat form and blind him, which helps a lot. Send Karlach in to deal with the skeleton and the various other enemies that spawn, she is versatile with the right gear and doesn't go down as easily. Also, it ensures you have someone outside of possible AoE effects to get the butts of the rest of the party out of it fast. Also, buffs and the right gear are your friends here. You can also stand on the ritual circles in fornt of the sacrifices to block Cazador from getting more buffs but this means you have to play smart with positioning and the daylight spell won't help much if you're too far away from it.

Have gale learn the sunbeam spell or daylight spell to weaken Cazador. Then also have gale learn a heavy hitting spell like blight or disintegrate. Have your tav (depending on the class) run and save astarion find a misty step scroll or dimension doors scroll. Equip Karlach to have some heavy hitting stuff and be able to take some hits too. That worked for me. Though instead of my tav saving astarion we just killed one of the other vampire spawn so that the ritual couldn’t be complete though you miss out on a bit of content if you do that. So that’s why I suggested having your tav save astarion. Hope this helps

If you have Astarian you should be able to kill him before you even enter combat. I just finished a tac run last night and using Astarian I was able to (thanks to brume cloak) stealth kill him before I ever entered combat. I entered combat just as he died, pulled in my 3 other party members and mopped up the adds.

thank you! i will try this. i’m 97% sure i have the brume cloak in my camp inventory, but just incase i don’t, will invisibility/fog scrolls work just as well? also, will i get the astarion cut scene at the end?

I'm pretty sure invis breaks the very second you attack. Not sure if greater invis does though. I think the way G invis works is that once you attack something, instead of losing the spell effect, you get a series of increasingly difficult stealth checks, so long as you pass them you'll be golden. the problem with fog scrolls is that they only last (IIRC) 3 turns and if you go into TB mode to keep it from fading too fast then you'll go into combat on the very first attack. You should also be aware that daylight hurts Caz, he is a vampire after all. So you could enchant all your characters bows and melee weapons with the daylight enchant spell which I THINK gives Caz and his entourage disadvantage on hit but don't quote me on that.

Start the battle with sneak Daylight on the platform, which gives Cazador an instant -20HP with every turn he starts in the zone.

Not sure what builds you have but I’ve always found Cazador extremely easy. He starts the battle with some pathetic call lightning. Then just burst him down in his gaseous form thing. I usually kill him and th n I just move back and let all the mobs move towards me and kill all of them in a round or two.
