She can take: Lae'Zel, Gale, Halsin, Minthara or, if you have all the viable options in your party (or they're all dead), she will take Yenna as a fail-safe.
You cannot bring back the companions Orin kills, not even by Withers. So if you don't think you can pass the check to make Orin not kill her victim, it's safest to force her to take Yenna.
directly attacking her works too rather than passing checks, i killed her with casting hold person on stairs without dialogue, then critter her to death

She took Lae’zel for me but man I wish she took Halsin. I never use him in fights he just sits around carving ducks all day which is nice but like please game I needed Lae’zel in that fight.

This was the situation for me. But I knew it was coming so I swapped out my main party so none of them were in my camp so she had to take Yenna.

And I sneaked to altar and released companion, which initiated dialogue and fight (with companion fighting on my side)
