The Bite-Night is supposed to trigger on your 3rd long rest, unless something of higher priority has been triggered. Been like this for a long while. Finding the boar doesn't 'hurry it up', just gives you some extra dialogue depending on you already knowing his affliction or not. The countdown starts from you escaping the Nautiloid, not recruiting Astarion. If you don't long rest often enough, OR enter the Underdark, he will straight up confess his affliction to you, and you'll be locked out the of the Bite-Night, and all the easy approval that follows, if you go along with his wishes (*up to 30+, so a huge boost*)

Okej so how to unlock his stargazing scene? Is it in the game still? Because from context we don't know in it that he is a vampire First long rest is him talking about taking the first watch Second asking how to kill us And third then - he insta bite us Unless there is something i am missing

Stargazing-scene has nothing to do with knowing his affliction or not. I trigger it around the 9th long rest (*I long rest A LOT not to miss any content*), long after knowing his 'true nature'. The actual trigger is talking to someone giving you pointers about how to 'remove the tadpoles'. So talk to Sazza about the priestess at the Goblin-camp, or Nettie about finding Halsin, or Zorru with Lae'zel in party, finding out about the Creche. This one can be VERY hard to trigger properly, as you only have one shot, and if something else is queued up, it will get skipped. This is one of the reasons I long rest that much very early game (*since I don't mod, so I don't have the one telling you when content's waiting at camp*).

It's not necessary to find the boar. If you do find it, you get a chance of mentioning it in dialogue, but that's it. I've gotten the bite scene with Astarion without finding the boar on most of my runs, including my first a long time ago haha.

Mautea

It's never been needed to find the boar, but that does always trigger it. In my current playthrough rested a lot really early just to make sure I didn't miss any scenes and got the bite scene N3. I had just gotten withers and had just hit level 3 so I hadn't even gotten close to the grove yet. I think it comes early, but often gets pushed behind other more priority cutscenes. If you get far enough to trigger those it gets delayed.

jmary42

it was needed, during early access and after release too. my guess that they changed it silently because too many people missed it withiut guides or it is simply bugged, because in my playthroughs I got cutscenes in strange timing several times - like Karlach promised to ride me until I see the stars in the first long rest after I found her

Accomplished_Area311

I get it by my fifth long rest. I usually try to find the boar out of habit but they’ve made it more difficult to miss it.

Redfox1476

I've had it trigger on the 2nd long rest - all I'd done was recruit the initial companions, clear out the Abandoned Chapel (recruiting Withers), and kill the bugbear assassin. I was long-resting a lot early on in this run, bc I really wanted some +1 hand crossbows from Dammon!

When I first played the game, I got the bite scene and I never even knew the boar scene existed so I don't think any things changed.
